The three stars can be broken up into three reasons. 1. Star for the excellent prices for suits and dresses 2. Easy location and accessible. 3. Very timely in the return and the items were pressed nicely. I'm not sure how much they were actually cleaned however, and the customer service could be friendlier. I understand they are probably busy, but I don't like to feel like a burden when I walk in. All in all I will be coming back at least a few more times. read more

Star Cleaners always does a good job with our clothes and has very fair prices, but this is a special shout-out to the owner regarding cleaning our American flag. My father passed away this year and we were presented with a very nice folded flag, honoring his military service. My husband took the flag to Star Cleaners to have it cleaned and pressed. Their computer system did not have an option for "flag," so the employee called the owner to see how to ring it up. He asked what type of flag it was, and when she told him it was an American flag, he said there would be no charge. Even if you already have a dry cleaning service you love, please consider using Star Cleaner at least once in support of their patriotism. On first impressions this place will now become my destination for my dry cleaning. The owner welcomed me to his place and explained the process. Very simple, pay up front and get your clothes done right. Now I haven't picked up yet, but for $3.00 for pants, I can't wait to pick it up. If it matches the quality I'll be happy, if it doesn't, you are going to know about it. Plus their hours are 7-7 Monday thru Saturday, which is great for my schedule. Great dry cleaner and pricing is very reasonable. Three men's rayon Hawaiian shirts cleaning cost, shy of $10. For shirts that cost over $90 each, thrilled at this price. Have been coming to this cleaners' for over 10 years. Owner's have changed 3x since coming here but service/quality has not suffered. Only complaint is that the staff is not adhering to the mask policy posted in their window. If they had, I would have given them a 5 star rating. Please note, payment is due upfront. I have used Star Cleaners for many years. However, since I retired in 2008, my dry cleaning needs have been limited. Still, on December 5, 2022, I took a jacket and two coats for cleaning. They told me I could pick up on the 7th. I actually arrived on the 9th around 3:00 pm to find the door locked, the interior lights out and the neon "Open" sign lit. No one came and I left. I returned last Friday, on December 16th. It was open and I entered. I handed my ticket to the woman working the counter and, as she went to get my cleaning off the revolving racks, I told her what had happened the preceding Friday. She looked at me and said, "You are a liar." I was a little taken aback but assured her I was not a liar. She then started coming up with reasons why that would have happened. She finally settled on that she was in the bathroom and the lights inside are activated by movement. I suggested she might want to put a note on the door to that effect. I also told her that calling a customer a "liar" is very poor customer service. She responded by suggesting that I only come in once a year, apparently thus not worthy of good customer service. The business has recently downsized, with what used to be part of the cleaners now another business. I certainly can understand why. I will say that the cleaning over all these years has been reasonable and of good quality. In the past, customer service has been good. No longer. I will not return to this business under any circumstances. There are many dry cleaners in Reno that will not call me a liar. If I could give this business less than one star, I would. read more

So unprofessional! I brought in a coat (worth around $300) to be cleaned so I could store it for the summer. I got it back with a piece of the hood missing and was told to come back in a week to pick up the missing attachment. I have since stopped by FIVE times in the last 4 weeks inquiring about this issue. I keep getting told to come back, and every time it is "come back again I didn't look yet". The amount of money I have spent on gas is insane. The 5th time, the clerk gave me a number to call. I have called it 3 times in the last 2 days, every time it goes to a voicemail box that is full so I can't even leave a message! The entire reason I bought the coat was its beautiful fur accent, now it is ruined! I have not been compensated in anyway, and prepaid for the service so I can't even refuse to pay them for that. My local, nearby dry cleaners. Sheela and I can easily walk here from home. There's never a big wait. The drop off area is rather small. You prepay when you drop off. They can usually turn the cleaning order around in two days. Staff is always nice. There's no problem with Sheela stepping in with me. Plenty of easy parking if you drive in. Prices seem to vary on clothing item, material and size. But pretty average with most dry cleaners in town. read more

I used Star Cleaner often back in the day, until one time I had a stain, I brought attention to please get it out, cleaned once, stain still there, they re-did for free, it still was there. At the time I only had 1 suit, and these were the pants, so it was critical to get the stain out, as I didn't have a suit any longer with the stain, and if you wear a suit, you find out finding matching pants, is IMPOSSIBLE, if it has been some time since you purchased. I told my mom, she advised I see her cleaner, I didn't have anything to lose at this point, and these Cleaners cleaned my pants and returns w/ no stain, the first time! At that point, I went to this cleaner, plus if you brought in by 10 am you would have by 4pm, back in the day SC didn't offer this. There was a change in ownership recently, and SC is close to my work, so I decided to give them a chance again (as I have no stains on my clothes). I think SC offers same day service now, not 100% sure, as when I brought in my clothes 15 pcs on Monday mid-day, he said it wouldn't be ready until Wednesday after 4pm. This timeline was due that I was bringing in 15 pcs vs the 1-2 of normal people, I am not sure why that amount matters. Anyways, I decided to give them a chance. Overall, I can say that I am happy, all my shirts were washed and pressed w/ medium starch as I requested, suit dry cleaned, etc. I will strongly consider doing business here again! read more

My entire family used to go to Star Cleaners located at 3977 South McCarran Blvd before the new owners took over. Not only did they hike up their prices from $1.75 per laundered shirt to now $2.50 per laundered shirt but the quality has gone down the toilet. The previous owners used to fix buttons for no charge and these new owners charge per button. Plus once you pre-pay for your items to be dry cleaned when you pick them up they try to charge you extra for bullshit. Plus the new owner (the old man) is a complete asshole with a shitty attitude. I have been coming to this cleaner for years, but recently I brought in a silk dress (that had been dry cleaned at that exact store several times before) but when I went to pick it up they said they were still trying to get the 'spots' out. I didn't know what they meant by spots because I didn't recall there being any. When they brought it out, I was shocked to find all of the embellishments on the dress were gone. The 'spots' were where these embellishments once were. Needless to say the dress was ruined. Remedying the situation was a nightmare - and was never resolved. Twice I had to go into the store, and twice the 'manager' was not available. Finally, the third time, I was given the owner's phone number. Even with a receipt, the whole process was extremely difficult, and due to the fact that I live an hour out of town, I just gave up. This place is very economical. The common folks would say "cheap," but I clearly don't say that, as you see I have things dry cleaned at Star Cleaners. They're always on time and I have never had anything happen to my clothes. This has been my one stop shop for dry cleaning for a few years, and they never fail. They even do alterations! I had a sweater that had many holes in it, as it was from the days before my executive lifestyle. I sometimes like to relive those times when I'm out clubbing, so I had them stitch it up. They did that and installed new zipper on a skirt for $17 total. Great deal. If you want to feel like a star, get it done the right way with Star Cleaners. Star Cleaners is OK. Payment is upfront. They accept cash, check or debit/credit card, but no American Express. If the total amount is under $15 then there is a .50 cent fee. The price is $2.75 per garment, including suits. The cost for comforters is determined on a different scale, depending on the price and if it is down, etc... I like Star Cleaners for cleaning shirts and small items like men's ties. They press the ties correctly and the price is right. I did take my thick, heavy, over-sized Cal-King comforter in to be cleaned and they did a great job with it. The first time it took a little longer than expected, but the second time went without a hitch and the price was quite reasonable ( I want to say it was around $25). However, I have had some things ruined, especially items that had embellishments on them. I had a nice dress jacket with embellished pearl buttons and they melted those. I had a skirt with some crystal embellishments which they completed melted off and some of the crystals were moved to different areas of the skirt! I had to cut them away from the fabric and do some minor sewing. There is a sign saying they are not responsible for things like buttons and embellishments, so a word to the wise, just take basic items for dry cleaning, nothing fancy. read more

One of my habits is going to places that are average and being okay with it. Star cleaners is average at best. The place is close to home. It is very cheap (I only get my dress shirts cleaned). They have ample parking. I frequently encounter two ladies that are like plain potato chips without salt. Don't get me wrong I'm in and out of there in less than 5 minutes: You can count on it. But there is no chit chat from these ladies it's all about transactions. There is one Jordan fan. This guy is really cool. You bring up Michael and he'll talk as long as you want. They do a decent job cleaning my shirts. I don't get starch and they seem to have small wrinkles on the shirts nothing to get grumpy about but I notice it. The place is not clean. Prices are really good and they care about their locals! Satisfaction is important to this business. Highly recommend this location for steaming needs and quality service! This cleaner lost the belt to my $175 wool coat. When I notified them that my belt was missing, they brought out a hanger full of 50+ belts that had been lost to their original owners. Mine was not one of them unfortunately. Obviously frustrated, I asked if I had any recourse to reimbursement. There was not. After going back and forth with the staff who said that it wasn't their fault the belt was lost because I "hadn't told them there was a belt with the coat" (I didn't realize I needed to point out a belt that is in plain sight ATTATCHED to a coat), they took down my number and said they'd have the owner call me. Suprise: he never did. And I will never go back. It's $2.75 a garment for a reason people! read more
