I came to them in 2022 with a 2 month old, 4 year old, & 11 year old. The teachers there are loving & caring. My kids love attending Star Kids. Unfortunately, they do not offer Elementary aged kids anymore. But, they prepared my 4 year old for Kindergarten. He was already reading & writing his own name at Star Kids & he hadn't even started kindergarten yet!! Update: The owner finally responded thru Yelp a week after I left my review and 2 weeks after my call. Yesterday (after several weeks have passed) she decided to comment on my yelp review. She's lying because I have a phone record proving I called and I have no reason to lie about leaving a message when I need childcare. I get the kids come first, however as a prospective parent not calling back by the end of the business day looks bad on them, not to mention how can I guarantee they'd call me back in a timely manner if my child attended that school. I would never consider a school who doesn't call a parent back and who lies. I called this preschool several days ago. They didn't answer the phone. To me that is a HUGE red flag. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and left a detailed message. Several days later I have yet to receive a call back. I can't attest to the service they provide since they never bothered to return my phone call. I'd never consider them at this point because I would never trust a daycare that doesn't answer their phone or call someone back within a reasonable time frame. After getting a letter that a staff member from the preschool tested positive for COVID, I would think the proper protocol would be to shut down for proper sanitation. Which this school failed to do, so I definitely pulled my daughter from here for that seriously concerning reason. The staff and owner of this prek are very nice and sweet with the kids so it's unfortunate to not feel reassurance that the preschool is taking precautions to keep every kid safe by shutting down when it comes to this matter. read more

Be careful when contacting Star Kids Preschool for one the director/owner is a liar and she likes to hold grudges. She likes to play games and lie about the available spaces that she has as well as her imaginary wait list. Oh wait, maybe it's only the "I will never take back Krystal's kids wait list". Here's a good one, "I'm still pissed off that you took out your kids wait list along with the monthly tuition too". I had to take my kids out of Star Kids because I started to stink financially, as I was paying over $2,000 a month for childcare. I went to Mrs. Christy and told her I needed to take the kids out because of the financial strain and god blessed me with free childcare as well, but it was at a different school. Who wouldn't take up this offer saving me in the end, plus allowing me to get caught back up. I wanted to keep my kids at this school because it was close to work, but with the monthly tuition and being on CCRC's wait list for three years it just wasn't feasible. Soon how her attitude and demeanor changed. For one you should never take anything personal when running a business, but this lady does. So if you are up for attitudes and lies then you have selected the right place. Secondly, here comes another lie- So one of the teachers thought it was okay to play hair salon at school with my then infant daughter. She decided it was OK, to re-do my daughters hair. Supposedly her rubber-band broke, yeah ok! For one I know how I send my daughter and for two where in the heck did you get a comb. When I addressed the director she said that the teacher did not use a comb in my daughters hair, not sure how Mrs. Christy missed the perfect part. LOL Anyways, we spoke briefly on the phone and she was "team teacher". Later on that day when I picked up my daughter she wasn't there, but the teachers were both teachers insured me that it was a new pack of combs and that my daughters name was on her comb and it was only for my daughter. WOW!! Now remember according to the director the teachers didn't use a comb in my daughter hair. Caught in a lie if I wouldn't say so myself. All these simple lies are unnecessary, and if Mrs. Christy will lie about a comb, imaginary wait list, and the amount of kids she has then she will lie about anything. BE CAREFUL So to add my final piece to this yelp. I asked Mrs. Christy after I got approved for CCRC if she had room for my kiddos she told me " oh I'm full now I can add the kids to the wait list and call you when I have room. Now I never did get a call, but I did catch her in another lie. DAMN three strikes, your out Mrs. Christy. So stressed over finding childcare for my kiddos I was talking with my then boyfriend who has an out of state phone number. He asked if he could help me find childcare never told him about Star Kids or gave him the phone number. He calls her they spark up a convo and she tells him that she has room for ALL THREE KIDS. He then calls me back all excited and tells me I found a childcare gives me her name and number, and to my avail it's MRS. CHRISTY!! I was so hurt I would never thought she would treat me like this. I never missed a payment, I never not paid her (unlike some) and most of all I treated her with the upmost respect because I was so thankful. I told him forget about that daycare and the dumb director, I just asked her if she had room and she told me she didn't. He was in total disbelief as well and said you don't need anyone like that in your life. I swore that I would never ask her ever again if she had room. She couldn't and wouldn't watch my dog if I needed a dog sitter. The grudge continues- I am back at square one looking for childcare because my kids preschool closed after 53 years so my mom took it upon herself to ask Mrs. Christy if she had room and of course her answer was NO. I asked my mom "why did she ask her" I told her you thought she was going to say "YEAH". This director is FAKE and if you get on her bad side she will hold a two year grudge against you. Be careful, you've been warned! I will never ask or call this facility again nor will I recommend anyone here. read more

My son has had the BEST experience at this daycare. From the moment I enrolled my son, Ms. Christy has been professional and very accomidating. His teacher, Ms. Shaney is caring, warm and very friendly. My son is very happy to go to school everyday and comes homes with a big smile everyday. I just want to say a big thank you to everyone at Star Kids Preschool. My son (3 y/o) has been attending for about a year now. We decided to enroll him part time when we realized he had a mild speech delay. Now a year later he is talking, singing songs, knows his alphabet, colors, animals etc. They also helped us get him fully potty trained. It really does take a village raising a child and I'm thankful for all the staff who has been there, especially during Covid-19. My son has been attending the preschool since he was 10 months. I was so nervous about him transitioning from staying home with me to going to a facility. Their ratios are great! Amazing place! My son(4) and daughter(1.5) loved their teachers and the staff. My daughter who is very shy was always eager to go back to school. My son who was delayed in speech suddenly started singing all the time and even learned his colors in Spanish thanks to his teachers. After I had my daughter, she was never left with anyone other than family, so when it was time for her to start pre-school, I was very nervous. It was a struggle trying to find a place that was 1- affordable, 2- safe, 3-close to both my home AND work, 4-flexible, 5- no longe waiting list. This pre-school met all my requirements AND more! After about 3 months of looking with no progress on my search, I found this wonderful place! I called to see if I can schedule a tour of the facility, they said I can come in at any time, which I really liked. (Other daycares would limit the time when you can tour and I could never shake off the feeling that everything was not as it seemed.) When I came and toured this one, I had a great feeling about it. I showed up and I met the owner, Ms. Christy. The staff was friendly and the kids were very engaged in there activities and lessons. I just knew it was the one right away. I'm so glad we found this place! Ms. Christy was is very professional, informative, personable and friendly. She answered all my questions. You can see that she runs a very good daycare with caring responsible staff members such as Ms. Carmelita, Ms. Tamika, and Ms. Maira. She has been in the business for a long time and she does care about the kids, their happiness, and education. The playground is clean, and the class is always decorated with different themes every week. The meals provided are posted for the whole week as well as the class lessons and activities in each classroom. When the day came for my daughter's first day of school, I was more nervous then she was. She saw was introduced to her teacher, and saw a class full of new friends. She was welcomed and did not cry at all. (although I did cry that my baby was growing up! LOL) All the teachers have all been so wonderful with my daughter, I'm so grateful to them. She will randomly point out letters, numbers, and animals that she has learned about in class. She always comes home singing new songs and with new artwork and projects that she has done. And I love receiving her daily notes. They let me know how she behaved in class, what activities she did, and what she learned. I also have come to notice that ever since she started going to school, she has learned to clean up after herself! A 3-year-old cleaning up after her own toys and mess! Its wonderful for mom at home! I believe it is because she likes to be the little helper, but I absolutely LOVE how they helped instill that sense of self responsibility in her at such a young age! l would definitely recommend this school to anyone looking for an OUTSTANDING school. My 4 year old started about 9 months ago and goes part time everyday. He's always excited to go and loves telling me about his day and what he's learned. First I would like to start by saying Mrs. Christy is an amazing person, Star kids is a great place and I wouldn't have been satisfied putting my son elsewhere! My son was one of the 1st kids to attend when Star Kids first opened. I choose this school for different reasons, 1.) Mrs. Christy was my high school teacher in childcare development for R.O.P which my year was the year we were her STAR KIDS I had the pleasure of being in that class my 10th-grade year then my 11th-grade year I was a teacher aide for her class. She has such a BIG HEART when it came to everyone and she did a lot to help everyone out when they needed it! After graduating high school 6 years later she told me she was opening a daycare and I just knew I had to put my son in her school! My son starting going there at 6 weeks old I got to come in and meet the staff during the walkthrough and even with just the walk threw I knew this was going to be a good decision to make. My son went there from 6weeks old until he was just about to turn 4 years old then took him out because I ended up moving out of state! I wish the state l live in had Star kids out here(open one up in Vegas) because I would not hesitate to put my kids in there! The staff is amazing never had anything negative to say about any of them they were are so very helpful when it came to my son and he like every one of them just as much as I did! I'm more than happy to give a 5 star review to this amazing preschool. The staff members and teachers are patient, loving, and helpful to both the students and parents. Ms. Christie provides a fun and educational curriculum that is engaging and age appropriate. Both the classrooms and outside play areas are inviting, clean, and safe. My daughter loves going to school to see her teacher, friends and is always excited for the creative activities that are in store for her week after week. This school is amazing! My 2 year old almost never got left with anyone prior to starting school here so I was super nervous. It took him a while to warm up of course but I think it's safe to say he loves it now! Ms. Shanae, Ms. Maria and Ms. Christy have all been so great with helping him adjust, I'm so grateful to them.
