Over the past couple of years, I have visited Star Nails many times and sat in several different technicians' chairs. Unfortunately, most of those experiences were disappointing. The work often felt rushed, the acrylic was frequently applied too thick, and the shaping and overall finish were inconsistent. I kept hoping I would eventually find a technician there whose work I loved, but I repeatedly left feeling dissatisfied. Things changed when Mina began doing my nails. Her work stood out immediately: clean structure, thin application, and consistent shaping. It quickly became clear why she was always so busy. If you wanted to become one of her regular clients, you needed to book appointments in advance because her schedule filled quickly. After Mina moved away, I decided to give the salon one more chance and tried another technician. Unfortunately, the experience confirmed what I had been struggling with previously, and I once again left disappointed. For me personally, Mina was the standout talent at this location. Now that she is no longer there, I've decided to look elsewhere for nail services and will not be returning. I share this simply for others who may be in the same position. Especially clients who were previously seeing Mina and are now trying to figure out where to go next. Everyone's expectations and experiences are different, but based on my own visits over time, I ultimately found that I needed to find another salon to get the level of quality and consistency I'm looking for. read more

a total rip off and will over charge you any chance they can! I have been in twice and each time was charged a ridiculous amount for the cruddy service provided. The first time years ago I went in to get a fill and basic color was charged $85!! this time as a gift my s/o got my mother and I a pedicure and manicure via "gift certificate" He paid them cash $175 you'd think that would be enough to cover two pedis and only one manicure as my mom didn't want to have her fingers done. My mom is disabled and in a wheel chair, she needed assistance getting into the pedicure seat which I did, and unfortunately due to her condition has very poor circulation which causes her feet to be dry easily cracked, red, a swollen. She hasn't had a pedicure in over 10 years and usually just does it at home. When in the chair the woman who worked on her was kind, and did an incredible job for how bad they were. She and I both did the second pedicure type which was just basic foot soak, scrub, nail trim, lotion, and gel polish. it was like $29. I would have paid more for her pedicure because I understand nobody wants to work on bad feet. Mine was the same, we both were extremely easy and all we did single color and finished about less that 35 minutes. The water was cold, the chair didn't work and they scrubbed for less than 10 minutes. They asked about the manicure even though my S/O had planned with them for the manicure. I wanted acrylics, and my mom just asked for them to trim her finger nails. The trim should not have been more than 20 dollars. acrylic sets start at 25, I apparently asked for something too difficult because I was switched to a different technician half way through. I'll post a reference photos of what I asked for and what it ended like. I guess they had to do the nails with airbrush, which I assume costs extra. I wasn't told how much each service we recieved costed even though we had asked for a receipt of the full services. They acted like they have never produces receipts before and were super weird about handing it over, When my s/o came to pick us up they told him it was $19 OVER the 175!!!! I had already given the lady that finished my nails a $30 tip with out knowing they were going to add to the bill for him. my nails are shaped poorly and thin it was barely acceptable the way I walked out from the salon I personally had to add a few rhinestones and glitter polish to try and get them to look the way I had wanted. over all don't waste your money or time they don't do that great of work, they are very stuck in the better than you mind set and make you feel super awkward, and will rip you off! not worth it there's other places in town that can provide wayyyyy better quality. read more

I have now been coming here for a little over a year and realized I've never left a review. I've had four different technicians take care of me and never a complaint. Today Rachel took great care has I have two toes that get ingrown toenails. They are very painful but her time and consideration as spot on. It's always clean and comfortable. This is also for star nails 2.My mom and sisters came here to get their nails and lashes done and this place is by far the worst place we have ever been to. Our pedicures were so bad that my little sister still had dirty in her nails, we got the deluxe and it was as if it were regular pedicures.They trimmed my mom's nails sooo short and rounded when her nails are squared shape naturally.Not only was their work was horrible my sister had acrylic toes done with French tip and as you can seen in the picture these were horrible. My sister also asked if they do lash extensions they said yes, we specifically asked if they did full volume and even showed a pic and the lady said yes.They were so unprofessional they used scotch tape to hold down her bottom lashes.overall I do not recommend this place to anyone.we have never been so disappointed at a salon as much as I am with this place. I called and made an appt for a dip powder set. The lady (she sits at the very first table next to the register) who did my nails did a terrible job. I asked numerous times for a dip powder set. Instead she filed down my existing dip set on my natural nails, threw some gel paint on and then asked if I wanted a pedicure... I've been getting my nails done for 15+ years. This is the worst nail experience I've ever had. This lady then charged me $50 for the worst and most rushed nail service of my life. This review is for Star Nails 2. I made an appointment for 3pm for a pedicure and when I arrived 10 minutes early, there were three ladies all in various stages of getting pedicures. I was surprised that I didn't wait too long, but when the manager's 15 year old daughter started my pedicure I was extremely surprised. She was a very charming young girl, but not professionally trained to do a pedicure. The only time the manager took over was to cut my nails/cuticles at an alarming speed then the young girl finished. The manager did not even have the courtesy to check my nails. Never coming here again. HEALTH HAZARDOUS, filthy. These people do everything fast and recklessly. After the lady sliced my finger with what I can only imagine was dirty nail file, causing me to bleed, instead of saying anything about wounding me, she then pinches my bleeding finger with her bare hands to cover it and starts telling me that I don't look old enough to have kids. Real smooth. I got a full set and the shapes of the nails are all wonky. Different lengths too. The thumb nails are pointing all weird. Did I mention I have developed a nail fungus? After using their restroom when I was waiting for my appointment, I should have just left. I should have taken the filthy restroom as a sign. If they are okay with the restroom being that disgusting, then you know they don't care about cleanliness. I waited exactly one week to write this review. Developing a fungus under my nails is the final straw. This place is not just a piss poor experience but it's a health hazard too. I saw that someone else noted that they didn't file or trim or do any sort of work to her nails before putting the acrylics on, SAME HERE. If you are from out of town trying to find a place to get your nails done. DO NOT GO HERE. Go to Lynn's Nail Spa. I made the mistake of waiting too long to get my nails done for my wedding. I had to find a place in Oakhurst the day before my Yosemite wedding. I went to Lynn's first, but there was a wait (later I found out this is for a reason). I went on a search to find something with no wait. I walked into this salon, and was happy to be helped right away. The whole thing was awful. The person working on my toes, cut one of my nails so short it started bleeding. Then he proceeded to continue with the rest of them, so there was tiny red specks on my french manicure from dried blood. While I was getting my nails done after he said it was okay to put my shoes back on... when I left, and took my shoes off... it was already chipped... everywhere. Then... the lady who did my nails was hurting me. SHE DRILLED MY NAILS SO THIN, that I had to wait (for the sake of my nail health) three months for them to finally grow out before having them done again. The job she did was so thick/gloopy and gross looking. Anyway, I paid. I left. I cried ( I am not dramatic, but just sad because my wedding was the next day, and the whole thing was... just bad). Met up with my Mom, and she took me to Lynn's, and she very gracefully re-did everything for me and did a beautiful job. I even like Lynn's more than my local shop. GO SEE HER. I had Andy and he did a great job with all aspects of the pedicure and especially the massage. I would highly recommend them. I sent my daughter and her friend over for a manicure. I got there to pick them up and they said it was $30 each. She said that's how much gel is and I said they never requested gel. She said I asked them and they did. Her English was very hard to understand. My daughter and her friend said they never requested gel and they couldn't understand her either. I would give negative stars if I could!! Let preface this with that statement. Went in for a fill and repair that I needed badly, my usual Lynn's nails, who does amazing work,for less by the way, was closed thats the only reason I didn't go there the repair needed to be done badly. My nails are crooked, the polish has terrible bubbles there is no Apex on my repaired nail and I even asked him to fix it and he made it worse after laughing at me and making me feel to bad to ask again to have him fix it. I was told to pay before we started and I tipped nicely. I'm am so disappointed and disgusted that my nails look like trash! Now tomorrow I have to go and pay AGAIN for my nails to be fixed. TERRIBLE. Thank you for making this fill about 80 bucks star nails, I paid you guys to do this trash, and no I have to pay again to have your "work" fixed. So me and my two sisters went here. My sister paid 35 dollars for a certain design I wanted, candy corn. The colors weren't right, she put green instead of yellow. Then the shape of the candy corn is so sloppy. It litterally looked like a kindergartener drew a candy corn. Then one of my sister's wanted a white marble look but her nail stylist didn't do that. She did a black marble design that doesn't even look like marble. Then my other sister got a red and black ombre. The black is so faded. Plus when she said she wanted a different black because it looked more brown the nail stylist told her "No, this color looks better." Our entire experience was horrible. I would give zero if I could. I came in to get my acrylics off for work and this guy was taking them off when nail clippers and ended up CUTTING my own nail and it was BLEEDING. I got many "sorrys" at this point. I pulled my hand away violently because it hurt. He then tried to go back with that same finger he jut cut me with and try to take the acrylic off with a fake nail extension. I pulled away again because he JUST cut me and it was really hurting at that point. I could feel my pulse radiating from the cut on my finger. At this point some lady and him are talking in their language and 20 minutes later alone in the chair soaking the acrylics off like how it should have been done in the first place. By this point the guy who started on my nails stopped working on my entirely and was working on other women which is fine because I didn't want him touching my nails any more. The nail lady who has been sitting next to him working on someone else finishes with her and moves to me. She files the gooey acrylics off with an e-filer and probably has had said sorry many times too to me. I didn't feel like they were serious about saying sorry because she looked at my hand and then told me that when my finger heals that I can BITE off the rest of the acrylic and yes I did still pay for the service and no, they did not offer me anything in return.
