On their FIRST class, they were told to tap and and kick the their own ball while chasing the coach around who went around in circles and zig zagged around. Not only were they supposed to chase the coach, while keeping their eye on the ball and kick the ball, they were also supposed to each grab a jersey off his waist. Keep in mind that these are 3-4 year olds and imagine the chaos. The classes are far more advanced and is not at all tailor made for 3-4 yr old kids. A couple of parents commented to the coach that the kids just can't follow this class and they were dismissed, saying that "well, SOME kids get it". True- some kids who were 4 did get it but it was definitely not designed for this age group. Whoever wrote the curriculum does not have kids and doesn't understand what their cognitive skills are at this age. They were given numbers to memorize at one point then they were split into groups so they can go after the ball when their number is called. Sounds fair but honestly the kids didn't even remember their number by the time they walked to separate sides. It was just chaos. I'm sad we even bothered because now our daughter refuses to play soccer. At all. She now hates it.

I was told that they contract a 3rd party to do pick up and they didn't have their name or contact info!!?? Unless u transport your kid, DONT USE PSU after school. What nerve. They have no problem taking money, they just wont provide service.

The coaches are very professional, and instill self confidence in the children, as well as great skills and stamina. I also feel confident that the school is ran by a reputable professional soccer player, Felix Abramovich, who is respected and known in the soccer community. That is actually how I found out about this school. If you want your kids to learn the art of soccer, stay fit and have fun, this is the best school in Brooklyn and prob in the tristate area.

I've played in these leagues for over a year now, so it kind of hurts to leave a bad review since…read moremy time hasn't been completely awful. However, as some reviews have pointed out, the refs can be very bad and make very biased calls. I've been ran into full speed in the back on breakaways, challenges that could've seriously injured me, only for the ref to call it a fair challenge. Meanwhile, if I challenge someone shoulder to shoulder in a fair play, it's called a foul if my opponent flails enough and looks at the ref. If I were you, I'd avoid Bedford Armory and Lower East Side, where I had experiences with those bad refs. The Brooklyn Bridge one was ok maybe 30% of the time (literally gave me a yellow card for defending his call while ignoring the entire opposing team hollering at him for it). The officials tend to ref the same fields every week. You risk getting injured due to the random nature of their officiating and inability to control games. I'm not sure if it's due to improper training or bias towards certain groups of players and favor towards others as some have pointed out. Whatever it is, it is completely unacceptable for me personally. My dad tore his ACL playing in his adulthood -- I don't want that to happen to me. I may try one more season if a good discount ever rolls around again, but I think I'll see how the refs and players are like around the other NYC leagues afterwards before deciding to come back ever again. It is what it is. I don't expect this review will be received by ownership well, but idrc at this point. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Please stop these assumptions and attempts to tarnish my reputation. I think you've already done enough. While it's unnecessary & futile to defend my character, I'll do it once more anyway. I decided to NOT leave an online review until now because I was still planning to play in the league. Yes we've had disagreements but I wasn't going to let that keep me from playing soccer. I enjoyed the location / day of week & didn't need to be a sore loser about you clearly not being a huge fan of me. But it seems you had another idea in mind and it appears you attempted to ban the team from joining again (as we planned) based off of some pretty unfair reasoning and false accusation. It seems you have tried to punish them for continuing their relationship with me. It appears you were successful in forcing them to choose - me or continue playing soccer at that location on Sundays. I have decide to speak up now after learning of what happened and hearing what you've been telling people that I've done - I feel others have the right to know how players like me are being treated behind the scenes. I'm going to go ahead and attach the email that Tarek has referenced & some screenshots for full transparency, along with the following clarifications to his claims for anyone still reading all of this nonsense: - Our team did show up for our last game during the downpour. I was there. I walked to the field with a sub for your team actually, a blonde woman, from Russia or Switzerland I believe? We laughed at the waterfall of water coming from the bridge underpass - it broke my umbrella. She asked if I was on [YOUR TEAM NAME] and I said no. She said someone from your team, a coworker of hers, had reached out the night before and asked if she could help because the team didn't have enough players. I met my captains at the sidelines and they let me know they had just forfeited - we were only able to get 4 of our roster there with the crazy weather, that much of what you said is true. The field was already flooding at that point. The rest of the team assumed the game would be rescheduled and didn't want to make the walk from the train in the downpour. It never was. - I did not demand field support in an email to you, the ball comment was an off hand comment. A small part in a larger email that was addressing the increasingly shorter & shorter game times we were experiencing. (Context: If D1 & D2 games before us ran long - our D3 games would be shortened on the fly to make up for the time.) I get that my emails must have been very annoying to you but you have misrepresented how I acted & how you had actually replied. Throughout our emails you had always implied that sharing my feedback was helpful to the league as it was growing. I had thought that I would be allowed to voice these concerns field side as well but I learned the hard way that I should NOT have talked to you right after you had just finished playing. So Let's wrap this up & move to that. - I feel your recall is incorrect regarding our field side interaction. I wasn't angry that we lost (we lost 90% of our games, we got used to it fast). I was angry that several times during the game, you made calls and stopped play on behalf of the ref. At one point in the heat of competition, you threw the ball off the field so our team had to chase the ball down. I felt you abused your powers as an owner to advantage yourself & your team. After the game - I asked if I could speak to you and you said yes. I tried to talk but you realized I was voicing a complaint and cut me off right away. I tried to continue so you repeated "just find another league" over and over, louder and louder, until teammates of yours surrounded me and told me to walk away. I apologized, admitted it was stupid to try to talk to you then and walked away.

It's got sand volleyball courts, multiple soccer fields, public bathrooms with multiple stalls (that are surprisingly very clean!), grills open to use until a certain time, an ice cream shack, picnic tables with umbrellas, bike lanes, space for joggers to pass by, and insane views of Manhattan. I was visiting and my friend hosted a BBQ with a few of her friends and it was the highlight of my visit. It felt old school. No stress. About 15 of us could sit and hang and have a cookout. Pier 5's highlight at Brooklyn Bridge Park is the huge soccer field where you can do your best impression of Messi or Ronaldo or Beckham or whomever you idolize in the global juggernaut of soccer. And you can come here to just practice your skills off to the side or partake in a serious game of futbol. As they say in Ted Lasso "Futbol is life!" Besides the massive soccer field and priceless view, there are multiple cement tables and benches with umbrellas great for impromptu meals or large group gatherings, which I was here for recently. It's first-come, first-serve, but we arrived at around 11:15AM on a cloudy summer Saturday morning and we were able to snag 5 of these tables quite easily with no competition in sight. Potentially inclement weather might have played a part in the lack of competition, but the area did fill up around lunch time despite the risk of rain throughout the day. Bottom line, it's super chill here and close to Pier 6, which has a small kids' water park and beach volleyball courts. Oh, and, most importantly, bathrooms are located at Pier 6 as well.

Now you can only skate if you take figure skating lessons, you can only play hockey if you are on one of Aviator's in house teams, no more open basketball, no food, no bar, no arcade, etc. I used to ask when are they going back to full service - at first it was Federal Govt mandates (way after everything else ended), then it was that they couldnt find employees, now they dont even respond to calls or emails. it was such a great place for kids to go and now its gone.
