So I saw this place had a big sign that said $17.95 oil change. I thought, great, thats a decent price! So I parked, walked in, told them I needed an oil change, and I sat down. I waited around 20 minutes ish for my car to be done. I walked to the counter and the lady goes, thatll be $54.95....I was like what! I didnt say anything, I just handed over my card and paid. So just be advised that your oil change will definitely cost more than the advertised price. read more

I wish there was a negative star button. Complete rip off and con-men. Charged $6k for issues that didn't exist to pass inspection. Control arms, ball joints, trans pan gasket, oil pan gasket and coolant line. I work on my truck and maintain is religiously. ALL WERE FINE BUT THEY INSISTED I COULDN'T EVEN PICK IT UP TO DRIVE IT BECAUSE IT WAS UNSAFE. My type of oil pan is an ABS pan that you can't just replace the gasket, you HAVE TO replace the whole pan because of the warp and chance of cracking if re-installed. They kept the same pan. Oil leaks and trans pan leaks less than a week later. Dropped it off a second time telling them all of this. Tom said "ok we'll take a look at it". One week later same leaks. He again says nothing more than "i'll take a look at it". Complete negligence at this point and i will be demanding a partial refund. Highly doubt they'll do anything though. read more

I went there for inspection. They failed me for an oil leak and control arms. They claimed the leak was from a bad solenoid installation (they looked my car up on carfax to pin the blame) They then quoted me $1500 for just the control arms. Something felt off I just took my car somewhere else. Turns out my oil leak was just from my oil cap and my control arms were fine. Almost spent thousands on an imaginary problem. They took my money for the inspection still. They will try to convince you to go to cherry lane auto for a "second opinion" if you press them. Cherry lane auto is also owned by them so don't fall for it. Steer clear of this place. The short dude is a seriously sketch guy. read more

Donot bringyourcarhere I am so disgusted with the way this company completely ripped me off. I was charged SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS for work that should have been a small fraction of that. And most of it wasn't necessary at all for me to pass inspection. I have spoken to multiple shops/ mechanics since I picked my car up and all of them were absolutely appalled at what I was charged. They bullshit you on the phone by convincing you you need all these things and then slap a million percent mark up on it. I felt backed into a corner since most of the work was done, Im not knowledgeable about cars and I was so overwhelmed at the price. I wish I would have done my research about this place before I brought my car there. I was told over the phone it'd be $5400 mind you I brought it in to pass inspection. i have a 2010 Hyundai accent that I bought for 3000. Then I get told "nothing was ever done to it it's in bad shape" (hmmm tell that to the stack of documents I since got from the previous owner with the continuous maintenance and service they had done to the car ). Then he said he realized I also need a transmission flush. To my surprise I get an invoice for almost a grand more. When I bring up the high price I get gaslighted by tom saying "well we talked about that" damn well knowing he never disclosed what each service costs. I NEVER received an itemized formal quote. And everytime i asked what their shop rate was I get told "below industry standard" which is bullshit seeing as the labor vs how long each thing should've took is ASTRONOMICAL.I refuse to shut up about how dishonest and terrible my experience was. I have been sick to my stomach since I've been told and quoted by other shops at to what I should have been charged . Took my car in for an inspection. I know the brake pads are good in the front, and the rotors because I just did them less than a year ago and have put minimal miles on my car. They quote me for about 2000 dollars worth of work- pads and rotors all around, and to remove and replace both rear lower control arms. And that's before they dig into the check engine light and 1 other service light. Oh and it has multiple fluid leaks supposedly. So I figured this is gonna cost more than the car is worth so I'll just go pick it up and figure it out from there. I get my car back, and usually they will slap a 10 day sticker on there if the car needs work but they didn't do that for me since there is no more money to sick out of my wallet. Then after about 2 days of driving the car my exhaust starts getting loud, then I hit a bump and it sounds like it's completely detached. Since I have no proof that it was them, there is no recourse- but my intuition is telling me that they did something to my exhaust and they know if you're trying to get a vehicle inspected, you have no choice but to pay for the repairs, so we can really take advantage of this customer. This car is not a junker by any means it just needed a little work... So discouraging. I took it to another shop and they helped me out big time. read more

Used to be alright but have turned into the worst shop that ever ripped me off. They really don't care but their customers safety even. THEY LEFT FRONT SUSPENSION PARTS LOOSE on TWO DIFFERENT CARS and left a protective boot around an end joint MISSING! And ripped me off a lot for their shoddy work. Left both my cars unsafe for extended driving. Screwed up rear brakes so they only lasted about two years and neglected to change them when I said there was some grinding noise. Totally scumbags. They change things that don't need it, neglect things that need work, and they use the shoddiest, cheapest parts which don't last. They also put the previous month's inspection sticker on a car. They charge insane rates for just screwing up your cars! read more

These people are complete rip offs! I went in for a front brake job everything seemed fine a week went by and noticed my car still had a squeaky noise took it back to get looked at the guy told me that I needed rotors! he also informed me that the brake pads should not have been placed on without the rotors and i should have been told that before hand! as you could imagine I was very upset I've just got taken to cleaners for $130! I contacted the manager Gary and asked him to please give me a new set of pads because they do come with a 2-year warranty. HE SO VERY RUDELY said no! I'm not giving you anything unless you get your rotors done here! at this point, these people are never touching my car again! I'm driving around my 3-year-old in in this damn car and to add to that I'm a single parent I'm not sure how these people sleep at night! HAVE BEEN REPORTED TO BBB! read more

ALERT Let's start off by saying I was a loyal customer to Gary at Starbrite for three or four years. Had my Infiniti QX 56 in for diagnostics and was told it was the timing chain. He said He could fix it and it would be $4000. I was fine with that as long as it was fixed. He had my truck for three weeks replace the timing chain and that did not solve the problem. I still had the same issue It had before. He gave me the runaround would not answer my phone calls and dodged me at every turn. Finally got my money back and my truck back and took it to B and M diagnostics in Collegeville who fixed it in a few days and let me bring My own parts since I had purchased them already.. Trying to be a nice guy I take my truck back into Gary at Starbrite to get it inspected and Was told it needed all 4 ball joints in the front And that they could do it for $1900. Mind you I just paid them $1500 for all new front ball joints and Idler arm a month ago on my blazer for inspection from them. I thought that was high but being He put a new timing chain in it I thought ok I'll let him get alittle of it back but I know I was ripped off on that job too. Back to the Now I'm not a sucker but it does not cost $2000 to replace four ball joints. No matter where you go at the dealership might charge you $2000 but we all know dealerships over charge you. So I told them not to touch my truck and I will take it somewhere else and Curtis their mechanic Said he could do it an easier way he would do better on the price which was $200 less. I laughed at him. He sent me for videos of the ball joints one of them Look bad. So I took it to B and M And guess what? There was one ball joint that was bad and he charge me $400 for the ball joint with the arm attached to it and the alignment, and a oil change. Stay away from this shop STARBRITE THEY ARE CROOKS. They are nice people on the outside and you believe that they're trustworthy but they are not. I will not go there ever again not even to get air in my tire. My first 2 visits to this shop (oil change and inspection) were great. The first was on a Saturday for the oil change and they got me in and out right away even though they were really busy. The owner and the lady at the register are really nice. I scheduled my inspection for a couple days later and again, they had me out in no time unlike many other places that you have to leave your car there all day. Besides being very accommodating and having fast service, this shop is competitively priced. Definitely will return. read more

This was my first time at this place which a co-worker recommended to me. I went there and spoke about price first and was told it would be 30.00. Even with the $17.95 sign outside I was ok with paying this price. When all was done he told me it was $37.95 I asked him what happened to the $30.00 price and he told me he had to put a higher end filter in? I told him he should have come to me and asked it that would be ok seeing how the price quote was lower. I paid it and told him I would not be back to use him again and I would not recommend him! The next day I spoke with my co-worker who told me to go there he informed me he took his sons car there on the same day must have been right after I was there and he was charged $20.95 for his oil change but said he did try to charge him $25.95 but he called him out no this price. Looks like a female taken advantage of over a male coming in and getting a lower price!!!!! surely would not recommend going there!!!! I have been going to this shop almost 2 years now. I have 4 cars and I spend lot of money with Star brite. I just realize they were/are ripping me off. One of my car had wiper broke down. Thy told me to change transmission and motor for wiper and estimate me $500. I went to firestone and they told me motor is good, only change transmission. I got it fixed for $250. They will rip you off if you fully trust them. I will never go back to them again. And not recommend to anyone to go there. Just a crap. read more
