I try to avoid anything that I can find at home when I travel, so the last time I was in PV, I didn't bother looking to eat or drink anything close to it. That's still the mindset I had when I came back for a 2nd trip a mere few months later, except it just got way to uncomfortably hot and I wanted to get a sure thing to cool me off. I know, I could have gone local for one of those street vendors selling various frescas or horchata or some sort which were readily available, and but as tempting as they all looked, I tend to be very skeptical about drinking water on a foreign land. I much rather be safe than sorry... [and you might be thinking... "well... Starbucks uses local water, too..." but at least Starbucks is reputable and (must) stand by their products... and it'd be easier to file a complaint if I had to.] Anyway! I know, might be weird for some people, but! Moving on... It is just like most Starbucks in the states: crowded. We were a party of 6 and we couldn't find any seating inside. (There were seats and tables available outside, but that's exactly what we were trying to avoid.) It didn't take long before enough freed up to seat us all, though, so all good. The line to order drinks was just as long, but they got to us in no time. Being a party of 8, there were gonna be at least 8 orders. Staff got a little baffled since there was probably a dozen orders ahead of ours. Except for one drink snaffu, they pretty much got it right. (They confused one of our drinks for another, but they replaced it no charge.) I got the pineapple passionfruit refresher and it truly hit the spot and with the AC blastin' through the store, it did the trick of cooling me off somethin' nice! FOOD: (errr... drinks!) 4. It was good, but it felt a little watered down. SERVICE: 2. I mentioned they messed up on a drink. They did replace it at no charge but they didn't seem happy about it. And had I known they were just gonna throw away that other refreshing drink, I would have either just taken it or paid for the replacement. A waste, I thought... VALUE: 3. Average, comparable to US prices. PARKING: Located close to the Malecon, street parking is the only option. OVERALL: 3. Good first run. It will be most likely be awhile (if at all!) before I come back, and although it's not on my list of go-to's, it's pretty nice and convenient to have a familiar place in a strange place.

Where do 'Mericans go for a sip of home when travelling out of country? Starbs, of course, cuz they're ubiquitous and no matter where you go, inside a Starbucks feels the same. It seems a little strange to order generic coffee in a country that produces it's own roasted gold. So, I didn't. But, I did come here for a collectible mug. How cheesy am I? Don't judge. You probably stop at Buc-ee's. And, don't even get me started about Buc-ee's. It was fun to try to sort out the Spanish names for familiar items and compare the Pesos price to typical USD prices (much lower overall, btw). We also saw a cookie named "Texas" (Tejas), a butter cookie with almonds, whose connection to Texas I could not discern. The staff were very friendly and conversational. The A/C KILLED, which was really helpful to us at the point of the day we stopped here. PV is beautiful and amazing, but during the summer it's oppressively humid. Ducking inside for some Texas-style air conditioning was enough to keep us going for the rest of the steamy walk down the Malecón to Bar Oceano. Got my Puerto Vallarta mug, good to go!

Across from the famed Malecón, this Starbucks -- spacious with floor to ceiling windows -- is in prime real estate. You won't find many people working or studying here; it is a social hub for pairs and groups of families and tourists. Of course, it can get widely busy, but there is ample indoor and outdoor seating. From the patio, you can see one of the city's main pavilions, and outdoor performance area, the boardwalk and the ocean. Service is friendly and swift. Also, there is not a restroom in the Starbucks, but there is one located in the adjacent building, across the dimly lit and very dark lobby-like areas. Anyway, lovely spot, and the best Starbucks location I could find in the city.

Can't go wrong here! Great location right across from the beach boardwalk! Got myself a butter croissant and a passion fruit refresher with coconut milk! Croissant was delish, as always. The passion fruit is a unique refresher we don't have in the US (or at least not in CA) so I wanted to try it. The lady gave a great rec of adding coconut milk! Was a bit too pulpy or had small pineapple chunks so I wasn't into that but the drink itself was good.

On a daily basis, my husband and I walked to Starbucks from Marriott for our daily coffee. He gets a soy white chocolate mocha and I get my normal grande coffee. For some reason, a grande coffee always comes with a donut. After a few days of throwing out the donut, I always opted out of getting the free donut. All in all the service was excellent.

This is my 10 times I come to this place .Every year I take my vacation and bring my family to spend 2 weeks in Puerto Vallarta . I always visit Starbucks right next to the malecon next door to Rio hotel , because it's a beautiful place nice environment very nice service and professional .It's always always clean. For all these years I have been coming here, I have never gone in and found the counter where you add sugar to your coffee dirty. It is always spotless. And the gentleman behind the counter who make my coffee today was very polite and providing a professional service. I and my family appreciate his service and the way he treats his customers. Thank you so much for the good service. I have took picture for that person behind the counter which I will include.

Strange how I am not a fan of Starbucks in the United States. Different story when we travel to another country. Outside of the U.S,A., I look forward to stepping into this popular chain. This was the case when we last visited Puerto Vallarta. This specific Starbucks was a welcome sight. Although they were crowded, the shop was neat and tidy. Lots of seating of which almost every spot was filled both inside and outside. Good service provided. Most importantly, they had free WiFi which worked quite well. Safe to say that I would return again based on this one time experience.

I was surprised how many Starbucks there are in PV. This one was like seeing a mirage since we were walking through the Malecon Boardwalk in the evening heat. It was so nice to step into the AC and get a nice jolt of caffeine from an iced vanilla latte. We sat at the window and people watched for a bit while cooling down before hitting the streets again. It was refreshing and gave us enough energy to carry on.

Great pastries. Different than in the US

I give this Starbucks a 5 star rating because the air conditioning is amazing. They also have very comfortable chairs. Great place to escape on a hot day.

Nice people, free wifi (better than my resort) clean, cool , and fantastic coffee. Starbucks brand is consistent.

Clearly marked vegan options. Staff aware of what is vegan and what can be made. The vibe inside is clean and really good. The service was really great. And the best part food and beverages - there is nothing we could find that was off. The mini churros were freshly made and came to us within a minute after that. The two vegan dips - peanut butter and strawberry jelly went so well together. The family tells me the condensed milk was very good as well. The Canadiano (black) was amongst the best we have had. The brew was so smooth and tasted just perfect. No bitterness or sourness and the temperature was perfect. The vegan Iced Chai Latte with soy milk was unlike any chai latter we have had. The spices were warm and drink cold and a hint cinnamon, cardamom and cloves - OMG. We were so impressed that we came the very next day and had the same thing again.

ATMOSPHERE: Cool and clean intimate cafe with a few seats. MENU: Salads, paninis, churros, cafe-style beverages and some alcohol. DESSERT: Churro Cup Choose a gelato flavor and topping. I opted for vanilla which went well with the generous amount of mini churros piled on top and declined a topping. The churros had good, creamy flavor, but were a bit too firm for my liking either due to their thinness or simply overcooked. SERVICE: Excellent. Very welcoming and friendly with follow up in between. TIP: Closed on Tuesday's; hours are 1p - 9:50p. OVERALL: Nice variety of churro combinations.

True to its name -- Spanish slang for "calm down" or "take it easy" or even "chill out" it is a straightforward cafe with slightly elevated prices and genuinely excellent customer service. That service, more than anything else, is what drives its strong reputation. The space inside is large enough to accommodate some decent sized groups, but due to the lack of ventilation I opted for their limited outdoor seating. It wasn't the most ideal situation, as a sign fell on top of my table, a stray dog was sniffing around, and the next door space was undergoing loud construction. We still made it work, due to the graciousness of the staff and their willingness to stay open past 4pm. Their iced latte ($70MXN), double espresso ($55MXN), and mambo smoothie ($110MXN) was the right thing to order at the time, but nothing too out of the ordinary. The latte had a good amount of milk in it, so much to the point that I was unsure about any coffee. This place is cash only and the lack of additional IVA tax charges came as a nice surprise. When I'm back in PV, I'm definitely interested in trying their brunch. The chilaquiles, breakfast tacos look fabulous, though the rest of the menu seems a bit skewed toward the gringo palate. The ultra friendly staff make this place what it is, which is worthy of many future visits.
