The cafe's name translates appropriately to "good aromas" since the roasted beans wafted throughout the space. On our first visit, we arrived in the middle of the afternoon and treated ourselves to the MX$85 Affogato, a nice combo of vanilla gelato and an espresso shot (Photo 10). We came back the following morning when the place was literally percolating with customers. This time we shared a table on the rooftop. What I appreciated was how the owner had no compunction about telling laptoppers not to monopolize tables clearly set up for multiple people. This time we had true beverages with their own twists. I had the MX$60 Cococcino, a cappuccino with a touch of coconut oil, and Jamie went for the MX$70 Iced Buzz Latte with honey and a double espresso shot (Photo 9). Both perfectly satisfied because beyond the quality of the beans, we saw the exacting process they followed in their execution. The coffee is roasted in house in very small batches, following a medium roast profile, a very welcome sight in the coffee scene. Espresso is pulled with expertise, allowing the acidity and sweetness to shine through. Manuel and pour over methods are also offered with their own special twist. While the coffee is reason enough to come here, and the pastries and food add to the experience, in Apapacho it's all about the community. With their own herb garden, their tip system that goes to fund their bike program, and their communal skateboard, this shop truly intends to serve their community while making great coffee. We started with mimosas which our waitress, Laura, told us we're 2 for the price of 1. YES, please! Laura came back with the pastry tray (pictured) and I chose the napoleon-style dessert. Then I ordered the "Petite Dejeuner" ("small breakfast"). My wife ordered the mushroom and spinach omelette. My petite breakfast was large - boiled egg (I requested hard boiled), jam, delicious crusty bread, emmentel cheese, Swiss cheese, a juice made fresh from carrots, rosemary, and other other goodies, ham, yogurt, muesli, honey, salad, house made salad dressing, fresh fruit, and more! The omelette was huge and had great flavor. It also came with some of the fresh juice and fresh fruit. SIDE NOTE: I watched as other plates were delivered to tables, and everything looked beautiful. We sat upstairs in the covered area, but there is also a downstairs area with seating if prefer to avoid the steps. Laura, was an outstanding waitress. She gave a good review of the menu, and made wonderful suggestions. She was very patient and helpful as I practiced my ordering in Spanish. I nearly forgot!!
