I honestly don't know why I keep giving this location chances. I LOVE Starbucks, but this store has consistently been disappointing -- to the point that I'll drive all the way to Dixon just to avoid it. I've had multiple negative experiences here, especially with one employee who is repeatedly rude at the window. My drinks are made wrong often, and when I kindly ask for them to be remade, I've watched them dump the incorrect drink into a new cup instead of actually fixing it. I've even been laughed at for politely requesting the correct milk. For a long stretch, every time I ordered a white hot chocolate, they made a white mocha instead, then acted irritated when I said something -- even though I was avoiding caffeine and that was the entire reason for my order. Red Cup Day last year was the first big breaking point. They handed my 6-year-old a red cup, and the same employee ran over, took it back, and claimed we "didn't order a holiday drink" -- even though we did. It was humiliating and completely unnecessary. And a year later, the issues with this same person have only continued. I spend a lot of money at Starbucks and genuinely love the brand, but the lack of friendliness, consistency, and basic customer service at this location is exhausting. I've never been more homesick for my hometown Starbucks in Indiana, because they would never treat customers the way I've been treated here. Just today, I placed a mobile order. There wasn't a single person in line. I waited until the app said my drink was ready, then went through the drive-thru -- only to be told once again by the same employee to pull around. I watched several cars get their drinks while I awkwardly waited for mine. After so many experiences like this, I genuinely hate coming here. I try to be extra friendly, but it's clear my business isn't appreciated. I'm extremely disappointed that spending $12-$20 a day results in rude service, incorrect drinks, and an overall unwelcoming atmosphere. If you can drive the extra miles to Dixon, it is absolutely worth it. read more

I got very sick here and experienced diabetic shock. I ordered a sugar-free drink, but noticed I got very sick and my blood sugar spiked two dangerous levels. There is no way that they gave me a sugar-free drink. Search recklessness should not be tolerated. They have no idea how much they could hurt or kill somebody acting out this kind of lazy and bad behavior. I should sue them. read more

Everytime I go to this one, the cashier says, "its gonna ask you a question." (In the drive through, about tips.) Never mentions tip, just asking a question. So I dont leave tips there anymore. But today was something else. 6:50am. Ordered latte & 3 muffins. She was already irritated bz she was listening to what people were ordering & also seemed to be dripping in disdain, about me adding on the muffins, at the window. She says, "its gonna a ask you a question. You can take this." (handing me the filthy debit machine) I said, "No, Im not touching that thing." At this point, my card is in & we are in a struggling match about the machine. Her response, "I can't touch it either." I literally just needed her to hold it. I told her I was going to give a cash tip. She was so busy not paying attention to even listen to me. I took my card out & told her to cancel my order. To which she said, "Really?" I said. "Yep, no thank you." And just drove away. I went 15 min to Dixon & none of that happened. The girl had dramatic blond & brown hair mixed together. I won't go back to this Starbucks. I am sure its the same regional manager. But wow, what a difference. Sadly, since Sterling is such a small town. 7 Brew it is! Never disappointed with them, ever. read more

This is one of the nicest Starbucks we have been to. The staff is always friendly and helpful no matter what we order it is done quick and correctly. The place is always clean, well kept and easily accessible. The parking is convenient and plentiful. read more

Open for about a week or so as of this check in and ya, they have a long way to go to meet the standards of a typical Star Bucks we are all use to. Very busy, baristas are overwhelmed and a few are obviously new to this line of work. It also appears they are running out of supplies for some drinks. Hopefully with a little time this spot can get it together because I am glad there is. StarBucks much closer to where I live read more

I went through the drive-thru yesterday and ordered a vanilla iced blonde latte. The girl working asked me to repeat the order 2 or 3 times which I did. Discovered shortly after I pulled away that it wasn't the right drink, it was an iced blonde latte, not the vanilla. I went back to the drive thru window and told the same girl it was the wrong drink. She tells me they can't take the drink back because of COVID. Then says that I got the drink I ordered and paid for and something about not making a new one because it was a different price. And that they could give me some sweeteners for the drink I had but that I'd have to pay for that. NO apologies for the drink being wrong and her attitude bordered on rude. I understand not being able to take the drink back but she still could have made the correct one for me. After all, if I had given the drink back and and they made a new one they would have thrown out the wrong one anyway (at least I hope they would!) But to then say I'd have pay for sweeteners was absolutely ridiculous! By the way I was not rude or irate to her when came back with the drink and asked for the correct one so I don't know why she immediately copped an attitude with me. Starbucks needs to put this girl through some customer service training! I wish I'd gotten her name but it was Saturday July 18 around 5pm. read more

I came to Starbucks with 2 other people and had to order 6 drinks and they all came out perfect! The wait was a bit long, about 30 minutes after we received the first 5, but they made the drinks perfectly! read more

Obviously very excited the area got a Starbucks but the lady who our order for two java chips and then the lady who made them are way off. We asked for a java chip with a shot of espresso and she told us there was 3 shots already in it so she put "Quad" shots, so not only was this the most expensive coffee I've ever ordered it was disgusting. The coffee was water literally no ice in it and then it wasn't even close to the right color. Yet the label said java chip quad shot. I know when I order this at any other Starbucks it says Single shot and is frozen and brown for chocolate. read more

Every time I go here the girls who are at the window are so friendly and seem to be really on top of things. It's rare for my order to not turn out exactly right, which can not be said for some locations in bigger towns. The atmosphere inside is spacious, but still cozy and clean. read more

Poor experience ! Came in Wednesday May 15 am. I understand that new employee need to be trained. She didn't ask for butter or cream cheese with my bagel. She later came out to our table and asked. I guess that was my bad. We ordered a vente cappuccino she didn't ask what kind. Our bad again I guess. But what really upset was that when we got the cappuccino it was only 1/3 full. It didn't even go up past the hand protector. ( why bother with it). When questioned I was told that was how cappuccinos are. We have gotten cappuccinos at various Starbucks and different places. One being McDonald where manage made the employee put more into the cup because it was not full enough. We paid $4.25 for 2/3 of the cup of foam. So not worth it. You truly are paying for the name. Not anymore. Everyone rethink the value of their money. read more

It's awesome to finally have a Starbucks in Sterling. Though they just opened my friend and I went and our drinks were perfect and the wait time was super short. They are very busy, but that is expected of a new store especially since it's Starbucks. But overall they were great and the lady who took my order was awesome. I like this place. It's really good to have Starbucks in this area, I've missed Starbucks coffee a lot ever since I moved to this area. Every member of the staff is nice, but sometimes they don't pay attention what is in orders, especially online orders. Almost every time I ordered one iced americano and one hot americano on Starbucks app, I got two iced americanos...and it happened to me three times. read more
