After I bought my first Swatch, at Swatch Flagship Store in downtown Zürich, I decided to keep exploring downtown by foot. I stumbled upon this Starbucks by chance and wanted to go inside, see their atmosphere and order a drink. It was too busy and I couldn't order, but I got glimpses of what it looks like. They offer outdoor seating and very minimal seating inside. It's more set up as To-Go. However, one of the things I appreciate about Starbucks is they educate customers on where their coffee comes from. I loved reading their little spot on the wall... "99% OF OUR COFFEE IS ETHICALLY SOURCED. WE ARE PROUD TO WORK WITH CONSERVATION INTERNATIONAL TO SUPPORT OVER ONE MILLION COFFEE FARMERS AND WORKERS. THROUGH THE SUSTAINABLE COFFEE CHALLENGE WE HAVE JOINED WITH MANY PARTNERS IN THE SECTOR TO MAKE COFFEE THE WORLD'S FIRST SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURAL PRODUCT." I so enjoyed this location, I completely forgot to pick up my Starbucks travel mug collection. Yaks! My only issue was the confusion of the cashier on my recent visit regarding the amount of discount given for having the reusable Starbucks coffee cup, which took her a few minutes to resolve. If you are going to participate in the program, you should train your employees on how the program works. I do like having the reusable coffee cup though. It makes me feel good about producing less trash. The cup only cost 2fr and every time you use it at any participating Starbucks, you get 0.80fr off your coffee. What's better than enjoying a yummy cup of caramel mocchiato while saving money and saving the planet at the same time?! :)

But the only reason I give this location a 3 stars is because of the area... It's really not anyone's first choice to have coffee here. You could just walk across the street to Bohemia. Why ask why? I come to this Starbucks only bc when I am shopping in this area for groceries, I take a break and stop by here for a little refuge from the people. It's never crowded, I have a lovely sofa to sit on and occasionally I will sit outside and people watch over a drink. Though it's located in Kreuzplatz (near Bohemia) so it's a bit boring to people watch and you'd probably have more fun sitting at Bohemia across the street over a cup of coffee that would have a similar price but much smaller yet more robust flavor. And even more there's more people watching to do from that corner, anyway.

Right now, they have a temporary stall a few feet away from the tea room. Find a yellow stall at the corner of Oetenbachgasse and Bahnhofstrasse. This temporary location is of course small and there are about only 3 small tables a coupld of chairs. The menu is limited to their most popular items: latte, hot chocolate, matcha, frappe, ice cream, sorbet, fruit tart, chocolate mousse, cake slices, sandwiches, and pastries. They have a dessert called Teddy which is like a mousse shaped like a Teddy bear - the flavor changes every season. I didn't like the flavor available (citron) so, I didn't get one. Take note: the price of their food is higher for dine-in vs to-go. Latte Macchiato: A nice thick foam and a strong taste of espresso. They have lactose-free milk which is nice. 4/5 Hot Chocolate: Züri Oberland Milch mit hauseigener Couverture Grand Cru. Using only local milk and their grand cru chocolate, it's a good cup of hot chocolate. 4/5 Service is friendly, quick and efficient.
