If only there was a ZERO star option. We did a long term rental with Starheel properties (736 Landmark Cove) and let me just start by saying that all they care about is making money. We rented a newly built house that started off with the oven not working and didn't get fixed for three weeks, asked for a mailbox key and didn't receive that for two weeks as well as a garbage can for the outside for the town to pick up took two and a half weeks to get. If you don't have all of that already in order, why would you list the house for rent!? Fast forward to two years later and ALWAYS paying our overpriced rent on time, I myself at nine months pregnant with carpal tunnel painted almost the whole house and even got a professional to come out and clean the carpet. Well what do you know the company wants to keep our whole deposit because of a penny size tear in the cheap linoleum and a marker spot on a closet door. After I let them know how wrong that was and all the footage I took of the home before leaving they gave more than half of the deposit back. That was also almost two months after we had moved out because they were waiting for their vendor (Jim- employee of Starheel)(its all a scam) come up with a price that they wanted to charge for the floor and paint. It gets better.. they DIDNT even fix the problems that they charged us for. Be careful even breathing in one of their rentals if you plan on getting your deposit back. read more

We stayed at the property last year and it was a very good experience. This year we decided to book the same property directly through star heel and the experience couldn't have been more different. When we arrived at the property we noticed multiple issues such as left over water bottles in the refrigerator, a Ziploc bag in the freezer these just seem like a health issue also trash under the bed. The trash wasn't under the middle of the bed it was like on the side where you can see it with a naked eye, the shower curtains in both rooms were covered in mold/mildew, and the cherry on top was finding what looked like blood on the pillow case. It was conveniently turned over. So we wound up running a whole load of laundry with the linens. I reached out to the company and nothing was done about it (was hoping for partial refund at a minimum). Unfortunately I don't think we will be booking through them again. Property management crooks. Avoid renting a Starheel property as they'll hold you responsible for anything they can to charge extra or keep your security deposits. They prey on the elderly especially and will do whatever they can to provide the least amount of information. When they finally provide their feedback it's vague and unjustified. Their hope is you just get tired of waiting for a response and just go away without your money. Buyer beware, if you rent from them read all the fine print and take photos of everything. Also put all terms in writing to make it more difficult for them to steal your money. Enjoy the glowing responses they'll have their friends write to bury this one. If you look at their overall reviews on all the credible review sites you'll see they are not good. There are many amazing property management companies in the area, save yourself headaches and rent from a reputable one. read more

This condo needs some TLC! It seems like it's decorated with Grandma's leftovers. The room with King (I used) has a VERY tall dresser and no mirror to use for make up, etc. The mirror is over the bed??!! And the TV (on top of the tall dresser) is not hooked up to cable, it wasn't even plugged in. The King bedroom shares a bath with the bedroom w/ 1 Queen. The toilet dies not flush properly and the water just ran and ran. I'm sure this didn't just happen...it was running when we first arrived. Good thing there was a plunger!! The kitchen was minimally stocked, as in 4 wine glasses, not full sets of flatware, etc. There's a couch and loveseat- not enough seating for 8 people; luckily we only had 4. Take a look at the picture of the barstools! They are WAY TO LOW for the bar height countertop. All in all, I think someone needs to show this unit some love! Hang some pictures, get mirrors, put handles on bathroom cabinets, but proper height barstools. It's a very dated unit. 1115 Crow Creek. I stayed in this unit April 6 and 7, 2023. read more

Rental was not clean prior to arrival and infested with dog hair and smell. Almost puked with all the human and dog hair in refrigerator too. Disgusting!!!!!!! Tired of being taken advantage!!! We pay for clean, advertised unit and we get there and it's what???? Flithy!!! And realtor wants us to give up our time to come and clean - after we are there and paid him!!! read more

This is our fourth (maybe fifth?) year staying in this particular condo in Colony II. So we have been pleased with our experience in years passed. The location is ideal for us, the condo is spacious, and we make use of the pool frequently. However, we were disappointed this year because the maintenance of the condo is no longer satisfactory: - The living room did not appear to have been vacuumed prior to our arrival; - Extra bedding had been balled up and thrown onto the closet floor of one of the bedrooms - The vertical blinds leading to the balcony were inoperable due to someone (prior guest? cleaning personnel?) pulling the cords completely out and to the opposite end of the door (my husband eventually fixed them by comparing them to other blinds in the condo); - Many light bulbs were out throughout the condo (both bathrooms, showers, kitchen, stove, dining room); - The A/C shut off completely one evening. After making sure the breaker hadn't tripped, we called maintenance and received a prompt call back and were told that an HVAC technician would come out to the condo. After several hours of no A/C and no sign of an HVAC technician, my husband and brother began to troubleshoot on their own. They were able to clear out a trap that was clogged and the A/C started up again for about an hour. It stopped again, and they cleared out more debris to get it started. An HVAC technician arrived mid-morning the next day and confirmed they had resolved the issue; he did some additional cleaning before he left. - Lastly, the mattress in the master bedroom is years overdue for replacement. It is in terrible condition. It has always been uncomfortable, but was our only complaint in previous years, so we never mentioned it. I alerted Starheel to the first four issues here the day after arriving. I did receive a call the next day with an apology for the inconveniences and an offer for late check-out. Unfortunately, our schedule did not allow for a later check-out. We received no follow-up from Starheel regarding the A/C, which is unacceptable. read more

If you are a property owner read these reviews, wish I did. They charge $150 application fee up front and you get nothing in return. Other management companies do not charge. Jim Devlin, the "sales/marketing guru" will tell you a great story, but can't deliver. Took them over two weeks to take pictures of the property, that were poor. After that, took them over a week to list it on MLS and they had an inaccurate description of the property. Their maintenance man wanted to charged more than twice the amount a plumber would charge to replace a kitchen faucet (wanted $175!). As stated in other reviews, they're non responsive, they will lie and make promises they cannot keep. Save yourself some time, money and aggravation. Stay away from this company. read more

I rented through Starheels, never again. Had I seen the property I would not have moved in. Holes in the walls, some spackled and needed painting. Front broken off the microwave oven. Knob broken off refrigerator. Toilet rocked and I mean rocked, back and forth. Made a list of all needed repairs. Never fixed, broke lease after 6 months. Also Police coming to door at all hours looking for drug dealers. This was in an up scale community. read more

Do not use! I would give zero stars if I could. Made an appointment for someone to come look at our property so we could set up a long term rental agreement. After driving 5 hours to do so, no one showed or called. I called the office a few days later and explained what happened. Very apologetic and promised someone would call that afternoon to reschedule. Guess what? It has been 3 weeks and still have not heard a word. If a business can behave this way when someone wants to give them money, how would they treat a renter? Horrible business practices. read more

I am obligated to give Starheel Properties, Inc. a One star rating for 2014-2015. I honestly don't know what has changed at this firm, but it is not for the better, but for the worse. The past years, we used Starheel for our vacation rental in Calabash and each time, all was great. IN fact, I recommended them to many others and gave them a raving review. Suddenly, they have become very non responsive, no communication whatsoever, in fact, there is nothing. Their website changed, they have new employees, even a new marketing person, but all for the worse. During our vacation last year in July, we advised them that we again wanted to rent a vacation home during the month of July in 2015. No response whatsoever. That's simply bad professional behavior and very unprofessional. Many emails sent, but no reply. Suddenly, Jim, the new marketing guy sent an email stating existing customers will receive z 10% discount if and when they book. Okay, we reply and guess what, again nothing. No reply whatsoever. Starheel has become very unreliable and in fact, I no longer want to do business with them. Sure, I know that after Starheel reads this review they will ask me to call them and correct the "errors". Many excuses, but the reality and fact is that the past years Starheel has become very unprofessional. It is very sad to see such, since LInda always did a great job, was reliable and trustworthy. Guess expansion is not always a good thing. Good people are hard to find and that is what it shows at Starheel. I really regret to see this happening and I honestly regret that I have to write such bad review. Maybe this will help to wake up the people at Starheel so positive changes will be made. read more
