This time, the only positive I can give is that the staff members were really nice and there is a great grocery store across the street. Upon check-in, we walked into a packed lobby as there was conference going on. We were greeted by Laura at the front desk, she was friendly and helpful. Laura quickly got us checked in and told us that we could wait for our room in the concierge lounge. The lounge was the same as I remembered, dark, but it had a decent selection of non-alcoholic beverage. The ice situation was not great, just a bucket filled with melting ice that anyone can reach their hands into. And, every night, a group of pilots would sit at the lounge talking for hours, taking up space for other guests that just might want a few minutes to relax. The hotel needs maintenance. The carpets are torn and pieced back together, as is the wallpaper. The room felt dirty, there was mold build up in the bathroom around the sink and tub. At night we wanted to turn on the air, we were told that they turn the AC off for the winter. We opened the sliders which was a huge mistake, none of us were able to sleep between the constant noise of emergency vehicles and the mosquitos! Even though it was winter, we got eaten alive by mosquitos. We decided on the second night to just suffer through the heat. The morning breakfast spread is big with a lot of options, but it is extremely busy. The wait staff members were not friendly or helpful at all. The biggest thing that bothered me is what I will call the smoker's gauntlet. Every time we arrived or left the hotel, we had to walk through the covered area through tons of people smoking, it was absolutely disgusting. I have no idea why this hotel can't find another area and dedicate it to smokers. The location of the hotel is a bit far from tourist stuff, but it is a quick walk to the subway. Marriott needs to take a look at this property and put some money into renovating it.

We received one of our luggage and waited around 30 minutes for the 2nd one to arrive. We were in a bit of a hurry because we were going out to dinner and didn't want to wait around for the second luggage. As you enter the main lobby, you can't help but look at their enormous white and pink chandelier. A bit odd as it did not match the rest of the décor. Once again, WiFi is NOT free here, but only in the main lobby area. Our hotel room was on the same side as the main entrance and facing the street. Right across from us is an apartment building I believe. We saw other folks out on their balcony. The bathroom also has a huge deep tub. There is also a fridge with drinks, snacks and a dusty bottled water (not free of course). The carpet inside is a deep blue with yellow/gold wallpaper. The door is also nicely detailed in (faux?) wood as well as the furniture. So it's more of a traditional style and not so much modern. The other negative that was really annoying was the elevators! They were on the smaller side and so slow! Breakfast is include and they had a lot of variety to chose from (waffles, eggs, bacon, yogurt, baked goods etc). One note I must make is that the staff felt a little more snobbish. I felt like I should have worn a nice dress or something fancier. All in all, Milan was alright and not sure if I'll ever be in the city again or this hotel, but it was a decent stay.

We came to this hotel after a completely messed up day that included rerouted trains and plans redone on the fly, and the staff made it all better, for adults and kids alike. Rooms are a bit small, but we were not there much. Kids slept on bunk beds that need some TLC, otherwise very clean and nice accommodations. Terrific breakfast, too. As a bonus, there is a pedestrian area right around the corner from the hotel with some really nice restaurants, that are so much more authentic and less expensive than the tourist traps! We had a great meal at Ristorante Borsieri 39.

I'm paying $225 a night, second room reeked of smoke, third room was fine... next day housekeeping showed up at 2:30 I was in the shower so I said not right now, go to front desk and say I'm out the shower can you send housekeeping. She tells me it's over for the day. Then argues I had my key in the room and that's why she didn't come. Hotel likes to argue.. I ask for two towels. Given one, ask for another, and she argues I'm one person. Excuse me? I am not allowed to take two showers? Victoria likes to argue. Well argue this complaint. Okay?

Fantastic bed, modern decor and amazing breakfast…read more We stayed in Milan for one night. The Magna Pars is truly a five star hotel. For starters, they are selling a nights sleep. And on that count they won the World Cup. I am admittedly a bit of the Princess and the Pea. The bed was fantastic. Fantastic!! Possible the best ever! The decor is modern and visually pleasing. The service is gracious. And the restaurant's free breakfast was so unexpectedly good. From the free presseco to the incredible fresh fruit and charcuterie/cheese at the buffet, everything was top, top quality. We did not eat at the hotel for dinner the previous night, and I think we made a mistake. I have NEVER said that, ever. The neighborhood is industrial/chic but felt safe with no trace of edginess. I can unreservedly recommend this hotel for vacation, with family or on a business trip.

Disappointing Stay--Not the 5-Star Experience Promised…read more We were truly excited about our stay at Magna Pars Hotel in Milan. The communication leading up to the visit was great, and I was looking forward to what seemed like a luxurious and unique experience based on the hotel's website, YouTube videos, and various online reviews. Unfortunately, the actual stay left us disappointed on multiple levels. We booked a family suite, but upon arrival, the room we received looked nothing like the photos online. Even the hotel staff agreed that the pictures were misleading, but we were told that "we booked what we booked" and there wasn't much that could be done. There was no manager available on a Sunday, which I understand may be part of local customs, but as guests, it left us feeling stranded without support. We even contacted American Express in an effort to leave early but decided to stay and accept the situation. Eventually, we were offered what was called the "presidential suite," which turned out to be just a basic room that honestly could have passed for a standard family room. The sinks were backed up, the tub's water stopper was broken, and by this point, we no longer had the energy to continue requesting service or complaining. The overall hotel experience also fell short of the polished image they present online. There was no bellhop available to help with bags, no friendly greeting or welcome as seen on YouTube, and no opportunity to create the personalized scent the hotel boasts about--apparently, the staff responsible for this is not consistently available, though that is not mentioned anywhere in their advertising. We never saw the rooftop either, as it was closed, something else that was not communicated in advance. Additionally, we paid for parking but had to retrieve our own car, which felt more like self-parking despite paying for what we thought would be valet service. To be fair, the two front desk ladies were very kind and seemed to genuinely care, though they appeared limited in what they could actually do to improve our experience. I also appreciate that a manager eventually stepped in via phone on Sunday to try and make things right by changing our room. As someone who travels frequently around the world, I understand that not every stay will be perfect. But I've learned that not all 5-star hotels are created equal, and sadly, Magna Pars fell short. The online presentation and photos create an expectation that simply isn't delivered in person. Overall, it was a disappointing and disheartening experience, especially considering the price point and the luxury image the hotel promotes.

The handles were confusing. It stayed only at one temperature, but fortunately that temperature was warm enough. The ventilation system had a fan-only setting but it was a little squeaky. The room could use a lot more hooks to hang things on. Staff were very friendly and helpful and all spoke English, which seems common in hotels here.

The location is about 5 miles from the Galleria, which is--believe it or not--about a 30 minute taxi ride (and 25 euros). However, the hotel is a few hundred feet from the M1 Metro station which will take you right to the Galleria and the Duomo. There is nothing special within walking distance of the hotel, but there is a pharmacy, a cafe or two, and a supermarket. The room itself was decent sized for Europe, had a balcony, and a cold mini-fridge. The bed was comfortable, and I slept well every night. All in all, I would stay here again if visiting Milan.

I had booked the Moxy due to its convenient location near Linate airport and the place where I had scheduled a work appointment and had a wonderful experience. The room was small, but functional and clean. I was there at the end of July with record high temperatures in Milan and the AC worked just fine. I think that some people need to have real expectations when booking hotels and should not expect a 5-star experience from some properties. There is no check-in desk so the lobby bar doubles as reception. The staff spoke English and everyone I interacted with was friendly and professional. The breakfast menu was great with plenty of selections, ranging from sweet to savory at a very affordable price. The lobby bar had the most wonderful bartenders: cheerful, kind... And a cappuccino for 2.5 Euros at a hotel is a great deal ! Special kuddos go to Klatte at the bar who always had a smile and the patience of a saint. I had dinner here two days in a row and their pizza menu worked out perfectly. I paid an average of 16 Euros for pizza and beer. I challenge anyone to find this kind of rates or services at this price level anywhere else.
