After reading the reviews, which were both good and bad, we thought we'd take a chance and see for ourselves. We did not know any other place as it was our first time in Milan. Boy were we pleasantly surprised! When we called the hotel from the airport they gave us directions on how to easily get to the hotel and they told us that they'd allow us to check in early (around 12pm) into our room because of our flight. We took the train to the Metro M1 line (total cost of approx 20 Euro per person) and where to our hotel within 45 min of travel. When we checked in we were greeted by a very pleasant front desk agent who told us everything we needed to know about our room, nearby restaurants, and hotel restaurant too. The reviews online said the food in the restaurant is not very good and not worth the price, so we stayed away, other than breakfast one morning which came to around 12 Euro per person (standard for hotel prices). They were right, the food wasn't amazing but tasted ok- at least for breakfast. I worked in the hotel business for years and know what good vs bad customer service looks like. This was some of the best we've ever had (especially with the front desk agents both male and female). Our only complaint was that the room was rather small, but we were not there very long and we didn't end up needing much more space than what we had, so not really a complaint. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place to anyone staying in Milan. They deserve the 4 stars they have received for their place. It is in a VERY convenient location (within blocks of Agostino station) and walking distance from Canals (restaurants) and Duomo. We would come back again, but may have to knock out some other bucket list places on our map first :)

We came to this hotel after a completely messed up day that included rerouted trains and plans redone on the fly, and the staff made it all better, for adults and kids alike. Rooms are a bit small, but we were not there much. Kids slept on bunk beds that need some TLC, otherwise very clean and nice accommodations. Terrific breakfast, too. As a bonus, there is a pedestrian area right around the corner from the hotel with some really nice restaurants, that are so much more authentic and less expensive than the tourist traps! She tells me it's over for the day. Then argues I had my key in the room and that's why she didn't come. Hotel likes to argue.. I ask for two towels. Given one, ask for another, and she argues I'm one person. Excuse me? I am not allowed to take two showers? Victoria likes to argue. Well argue this complaint. Okay?

It has a very nice spa & fitness facility that's open 24hrs. The room was very spacious with comfortable bed, innovative modern decor and almost all necessary amenities. Couple amenities that weren't provided were coffeemaker and iron with the board. If you have to iron a garment you have to go down to the lobby to a break room to do that, which makes it a little inconvenient if you are in a rush. Also, you would think a coffee maker would be available but it wasn't, which was not a big deal. Breakfast buffet is available for an additional charge and I found it very nice with lots of food options, including gluten free bread and even muffins, how cool is that?! And there was barista making fresh cappuccinos and other coffee drinks. I would definitely recommend having breakfast at the hotel. There is a nice lounge bar on the lobby floor where you can enjoy a refreshing drink and order some snacks. I saw a restaurant there as well but didn't have time to dine there. One major issue was the WI-FI connectivity and speed, internet was on and off every few minutes which was very frustrating. When I addressed it with the management, they apologized and said it was due to some internet upgrades they had to implement. Toward the end of the stay, internet seemed to work better. Free parking garage is available on site and elevators that will take you straight up to your floor. The hotel price was very good even with additional city tax you must pay when checking out. The staff are fairly friendly. There are some decent restaurants in the area. The less-than-good: The location isn't particularly convenient to anything, but it's not hard to get to various forms of public transport. The shower was clogged, such that showers could last only about 3 minutes. The bedding wasn't the most comfortable. In other words, if you're looking for a cheap place to crash while you travel around aggressively (like I did), this place works. That said, if you're looking for something more comfortable, you should look elsewhere.

In terms of airport access, I took the train to Cardona to the 1 trolley/cable car, which stops front-right of the station's main entrance. The hotel is only a block away once you disembark. This method is effective but a bit time-consuming. For my return, I figured out that the express buses make not-well-advertised stops near an expo site (Fiera Milano City) on Viale Teodorico. It's about a simple 10 minute walk from the hotel to the bus stops, so I found this far more convenient than trekking south to the train stations just to go back north to the Malpensa airport. :: Area Amenities :: Not much in this immediate area, which on Yelp is known as Monumentale. A restaurant that was recommended by the front desk even was a good 20 minute walk towards the Chinatown area past Via Losanna. You'll find most of the interesting food choices south of Piazza Firenze. Even finding a convenience store to pick up bottles of water was not so obviously convenient. :: Hotel Amenities :: Except for the atrium that takes you from street level to lobby level, there's a tiny 2-person elevator that can take you between all floors. We were located on the 1st floor (2nd story), so we didn't have to go far anyway. The stairwells are wide and have automatic lights. The lobby is spacious with sofas, a TV, two computers, and a printer if I recall. The breakfast room in the basement isn't huge, but it's enough. A very basic continental breakfast is offered, but beware in advance of pricing. As noted in my tip, I thought breakfast was complimentary, but it's only comp with a voucher sign-up online (something to which I received no instructions about how to access). Since there was no signage indicating prices for the service and no one who collected each morning, I assumed it was complimentary. (Insert idiom about assuming here.) Day of checkout, I find out that they were charging breakfast to the room bill for anyone who basically walked into the dining area (even if you didn't eat). I point this out because one morning I came down to collect my travel partner and did NOT fix a plate for myself to eat, but was still charged. Seeing as I think the breakfast offering is barely worth 5€, I nitpicked about that charge and got it removed from the final bill. I just don't like surprises though, and the Milan Expo City Tax was another one of those surprises that got added on at the end of my stay. I knew about it from advance research, but assumed (ha ha) it was included in my Priceline booking. Remind me to never make any assumptions again, nor skip interrogating the front desk upon arrival. :: Room Amenities :: On a more positive note, the room was basic, but sufficient. The entryway is a narrow and blocks simultaneous entrance to the bathroom, but once inside, there's definitely enough space for the frugal 2-person travel group. The bathroom was very clean with sufficient shelving space to store stuff. The shower stall is tight and has a funny plastic pull curtain/divider thing, but again, nothing you can't get over for the price. The beds were not squishy, but not too stiff either, and there was enough covers to stay warm. Mini-fridge and TV were a plus, even if the remote is impossible to figure out. Our particular room overlooked nothing but a wall and thus received no natural light, but again this is fine for travelers who should be outdoors exploring anyway. The last thing I can think of is that the walls are nowhere near soundproof, but our chatty neighbors were in bed before midnight anyway, so no problems there either. :: Conclusion :: Solid choice that at first I thought was a steal for the sub $100/night price. But had I factored in all the final bill costs, I might have elected a similar-range / star hotel closer to the historic center.

And they disabled my heat my second night there and I was freezing! There is a large underground mall underneath the hotel, but not much else to do around here. About an hours drive from here is an old military fortress that was pretty cool.

My mother and I were forced to take cold showers on both nights, which was extremely uncomfortable and unacceptable. * On the morning of our checkout, the elevator wouldn't come to our floor, so I called the front desk. Francisco kindly informed me that the elevator was being repaired and even came up to assist us. Although the elevator eventually reached our floor, we got stuck inside once we entered. This was not only stressful but also raised serious safety concerns. I truly appreciated Francisco's kindness during the situation. * Upon checkout, I shared these concerns with the hotel manager around 11:40 AM on July 3rd. Unfortunately, he was rude and dismissive. When I explained that there had been no hot water, he continued to argue with me, insisting that hot water is available in the mornings, despite the fact that there was none when we actually needed it. * When I politely asked for his name, he refused to give it and questioned why I was asking. I then inquired about compensation, and he responded that he didn't believe any compensation was necessary and ultimately told me to contact Booking.com instead. I honestly don't know how they can claim themselves a 3-star hotel. The video attracted captures us being rescued by the maintenance worker.

Hotel Canova is situated within walking distance from the Milan Central Train Station, which is truly convenient if you are only in the City for a limited amount of time. The Hotel offers a wonderful lounge, breakfast for a cheap and reasonable price, as well as two different locations: The hotel as well as apartment rooms across the street. Luckily, I had reserved one of the apartment bedrooms that came with a small kitchen and a walk-in bathroom shower. Now, the room indeed was 5 stars, however, the apartment was alil' janky and could use an upgrade, hence the 4 star review. The elevators need some work; oh Lawd, what about those hallways that smelt like all types of mold and poop. It was disgusting. The best thing about this hotel is that the bed was amazingly comfortable. After all the crazy busy days that I had walking around all of Italy, a good bed was needed and I got it here at this hotel. I overslept and woke up to the Front Desk calling me. Checkout was 11 AM and there was no way I was going to get ready at that time; no worries, they allowed me to leave at 11:30 AM. There are many bars around the area; the one next door was the one I stayed at till closing and it offered delicious food and stiff drinks that had everyone stumbling after 4 AM! Quick Tip: If you stay in the hotel, it's mandatory that you pay the City Tax in Cash. It is 3 euros if you are in the hotel and 4 euros if you are across the apartment hotels. What a wonderful gem hidden in the suburbs of Milan!…read more I booked this room with travel points, so I was going for the best quality for the lowest points without really thinking about the quality. It was just a one night stay, which I very much regret now. The hotel is spotless. Every nook and cranny is squeaky clean. There's a small bar in the lobby with excellent cocktails, just the ticket after a day of travel. The restaurant is very pricey, so I didn't dine there. Not many others did, either. However, at breakfast, the restaurant is hopping, and the breakfast buffet is rich with pastries, hot dishes, and most importantly, all the espresso you can drink. Heavenly. Also of note for the cooler months, the patio is a beautiful garden area to eat the aforementioned breakfast. I was upgraded to a suite, and it was the perfect nook to relax in. The massive shower had a rainfall showerhead that actually had some pressure, making it one of the most relaxing experiences possible. I stayed in far longer than I normally do because it was so delightful. Checkout and check-in were both relaxing experiences. Additionally, there's a shopping center not far from the hotel for those without a car. It's a great spot for dinner and to pick up any necessary items or groceries. It's not a tourist location, but I found everything I needed and more.

the surrounding area of mo.om was not our destination so i cant vouch for the town where this…read moreamazing hotel stands. but, i can vouch for our stay there--AMAZING! we needed a place near the milan airport since we were flying back out of milan on our way home. this place looked cool and had a spa/pool which was nice for our last day of our trip. we had no idea it would be so great. staff was friendly, english speaking, accommodating, and efficient. room was clean, comfy, well designed, and everything worked (unlike all the other places we had stayed in italy!). the drinks at the bar were stellar (hello whipped cream in my white russians). the food in the restaurant was yummy (order the pumpkin ravioli--you wont be disappointed!). the spa was relaxing and fun. but the design of the hotel itself stole the show. we both wish there were mo.oms all over the world for us to stay when we travel.... thanks mo.om staff!!!!
