I lived here for less than a year in 2021 to now 2022. From the beginning, communication was short, and they never really seemed up front about anything. I never even met the manager until the 6 month inspection, and I didn't get to tour before I moved in because they flipped it from the last person moving out pretty much immediately. The walls and doors were dripping with orange liquid, the cabinets weren't skrewed on all the way and fell and hit me, mold grew like crazy now matter how much they came in and scrubbed it (which if mold is appearing, scrubbing won't make it go away) the floors were sinking in and would rock, the walls and floors were paper thin I could hear entire conversations my neighbors had. The neck was rotting and loose, slippery from moss and it felt like it was going to break. The windows and front door didn't close all the way, I asked maintenance to come in and look at everything several times they said there's nothing they could do until they fired the guy who was there when I moved in for somebody who doesn't speak English very well. My smoke alarm didn't work the entire time I lived there, my clothes and shower curtain got ruined from the mold, the water never worked and the fridge stopped working altogether several times. The amount of fights I had to put up with in this neighborhood along with rude neighbors who would get management to give me a warning about leaving a trash bag outside my door for a couple minutes because I had to gather all my trash up to take out, yet we couldn't reach management once about any of our problems. They give special treatment to those who pay and as soon as they got their money, they're gone. Every single time I call it goes straight to voicemail but the manager is always in the office with sometimes two men at a time. All the lights are on and the blinds are closed. Very unprofessional and uninviting. I saw three different receptionists then none by the time I moved out and mind you, there's only two rooms, one for manager and one for receptionist so they wouldn't have needed three receptionists unless they were firing the old ones and replacing. (Or they quit which is what I assume) I signed something to break my lease a couple months early because I just had to get out. The mold was so toxic in the air and me, my cats, and my boyfriend were struggling to breathe. To add insult to injury, they offered me a "renewing the lease deal" where they would charge me $100 more monthly on top of the already outrageous price they were charging for that run down borderline condemned building that nobody should be living in. I considered hiring a health inspector to come in and assess things because it got so scary, the only reason I didn't is because I'm poor. Because that's what places like this exist for, poor people who have nowhere else to go and a young person like me who doesn't know any better would get locked in and trapped. Rent was 90% of my monthly income alone. I'm so very lucky to have gotten out and I now live in a place that cares about my well-being and my families health has improved greatly. I know you're looking at this place because your poor, but please consider somewhere else. read more

Cars constantly doing a casing merry go round. I've witnessed my neighbors prius get cased for their catalytic converter a couple of times. Security does NOTHING besides drive through. Neighbors will have their kids running around at 3 am and management won't do anything. Spacious apartments with barely usable outdoor amenities. If you have children and care about the quality of the community and neighborhood you live in....STAY AWAY. read more

This place was great. The location, the amenities, the look, the price. However, it was bought this month and has a new manager. The rent has been increased by $25 and the water bill is now a flat fee. That's great but it too has been raised, by $15. And the new manager is not nice, so watch out. I suggest finding somewhere else to live. read more

I am a new resident to Stark Street Crossings from out of state and my experience thus far has been very enjoyable. I have been very impressed with Taylor from the beginning. I sent out an email to see if any apartments were available and she immediately got in contact with me and set up a tour at 9 am the next morning. I arrived a few minutes early and she was already at the front office waiting for me. She was energetic and passionate about her job. We toured the complex and the apartment and I loved how well-kept the place was. The pool was very clean, the community feel was great, and the apartment was in great condition. I applied and signed my lease that same day. Taylor walked me through the entire process and was genuinely excited for me to join the complex. When it came time to talk through the lease she went above and beyond explaining the lease to me so I felt 100% comfortable what I was signing. She came with me to do the apartment walk through and was extremely thorough. She caught things that even I probably would not have noticed. She has very high standards and I think that plays a huge part into how well run this complex is. So far the apartment has been great. I rarely hear the people to the side of me or above me. Quiet hours are respected and even though animals are allowed in this complex, people seem to be extremely responsible with their pets and pet waste. It is interesting to read the comments about children not being able to play, because my experience has been that children are pushed out of the apartments by their parents and told to play outside all day without any supervision. They are respectful for the most part, but sometimes can get a little noisy or rowdy if you live by their favorite spots (which I do, but I just tune it out.) From my experience, children are more than allowed to play, jump, run, and just be kids! I would recommend Stark Street Crossings to anyone! read more

We lived at Stark Street Crossings Apartments for almost three years now... Every thing was great until Taylor Honn took over. She is very unprofessional and hateful. I came in the office and there was a huge line of unhappy tenants one ladie's washer machine broke and she called them a week ago to fix it and still they did not fix it.. There were other unhappy tenants all waiting. She gave us a 50 dollar fine, because our kids "are being loud, minors running, jumping." When our apartments were managed by Quantum I didn't get a single notice about being loud or jumping... I would not recommend these apartments to live in... Find a place where the manager will appreciate you living there and paying rent. This has been my experience with this place. read more

We are currently living at Stark street crossing. We have been here for almost 4 years and never had any problems till Taylor and her group took over. Myself and my children have been miserable ever since. 2 months ago I would have said " If you plan on living here I hope you don't have children. I mean what kind of apartments don't allow kids to play?!?! To get fined for kids playing... Are you serious?! To get fined if you set your garbage in the front door just to go back in your home to get your kids, purse etc etc and as you are leaving you are taking the garbage with you just to be told if I do it again I will be fined?! Ya nice one last... But! Since new owners have stepped in, the maintenance has been amazing, things are getting fixed and I learned A LOT about Taylor. None of it good.... I don't care if she reads this while I'm still living here. I've had it with her hateful ways towards myself and my children. I swear she is a woman hater and down right mean! I lived at Stark Street for 4 years. All of the managers have been GREAT. Recently, Taylor Honn took over and made great things happen! The grounds looked great, the maintenance men were always timely and available and most of all, accommodating to the residents. Taylor made sure her residents felt comfortable and safe in their homes. She dealt with any issues in a timely manner and I appreciate the work she and her team did while i was a resident. Stark Street has recently been taken over by new ownership/management - - - short story: NOT GOOD... So far, the water, garbage, and rent have all been increased significantly; For the newcomer, "reduced rent" for the first months seems attractive, but those of us who are faithful dwellers are rewarded with annual rent increases of around $75 each (and that's just for a 1-bedroom). Posted office hours, though expanded, are often not observed ( office opens late, staff doesn't return from lunch/meetings at posted times, closes early ); there is no drop box for correspondence; your only option is to come back later. Further, the property is advertised as "non-smoking", but residents are routinely observed smoking on balconies and in common areas; when this became a significant health factor for my son & myself, I brought it to management's attention; their response was to "leave a voicemail message" for the neighbors, and continue encouraging me that "they'll be moving at the end of the month". Most recently - last week - when my son's car was vandalized for the 2nd time in 3 months, we brought to management's attention the lack of proper security and lighting in our area of the parking lot (noting that several other residents have experienced break-ins as well); their response: "we'll see about updating the lighting, but for the time being, we need you to update your lease information & pay the $48 screening fee for your son" (who has turned 18 since we initially moved in); since this initial response last Tuesday - 7 days ago - I've received 2 additional voicemails & an email from the front office reminding me about this screening application, but no follow-up whatsoever on our real concerns. On the upside, the place is pretty quiet, and if you're comfortable with a company that seems concerned only for its own convenience and the financial bottom line, this is the place for you; if you prefer to live in a place where management is actually concerned for the well-being of its residents, look elsewhere. read more

If you love screaming children this is the place for you. I moved into the complex in May and the screaming has been nonstop. If the weather is decent there will be children outside screaming. There is a small field in the middle of the complex that children are for some reason allowed to run rampant in, screaming as if they are being murdered. I saw another review for this place that someone had gotten fined for their children "playing" outside - good, maybe you should teach them the difference between playing and making other occupants want to slap you for allowing your children to behave like animals. I've lived in Oregon my entire like and I have never been so excited for the rainy seasons just to make it stop. Pros - Washer and dryer inside, allows pets, nice balcony with decent sized locking storage area, decent amenities - pool area and small exercise area, enforced "quiet time" between 10pm-7am. Update as of 9/22: This is now a non-smoking complex. You may smoke at least 10 feet away from the building and are no longer allowed to smoke on your balcony. read more

I would highly recommend not living here. We moved in here in 2010 and lived in both a 2 bedroom and a 3 bedroom unit. When we moved in Quantum was the rental company and things were GREAT! The managers were quick to get things resolved and fixed. However, halfway through our tenancy, Quantum decided to sell the property to a woman named Taylor. She was never in the office when you needed something fixed or even to do anything as simple and picking up a package. The new maintenance people were incompetent. After the 2nd time our apartment had an attempted break in, and the police were at the complex almost every other day, we decided that for the safety of our family that we needed to find a new place to live. We had done a bond deposit with Quantum that would cover the cost of us moving out and breaking our lease. While dealing with all of these things, my husband left several message and we never heard back from her and had no contact with her after our several attempts and she sent us to collections. I would not recommend living here and anybody who has the bond deposit left over from when Quantum owned the property, take heed as that deposit is no longer good. read more

My review is more based on the property landlady herself, Taylor Honn, than it is on the apartment complex. I have been a resident of Stark Street Crossing since November of 2010, and have lived in a total of 4 units within the complex (for various reasons) But ever since Taylor and her group of maintenance men took over, I have absolutely HATED living here! They have raised the rent at least 3 times since they took over, but have done nothing to improve anything in my opinion. They started an exterior paint job that did not get finished, and the buildings are left looking unfinished and tacky with random paint sprays and missing unpainted areas. It looks horrible. They have "updated" the apartments interior by painting accent walls and replacing flooring, but upon move in to my new unit (which they had just updated) things like my wall outlets don't even work properly. Also I recently discovered that a $200 non refundable "transfer fee" I was charged to move into my new unit, was illegal per ORS 90.302(1). So I am in the process of trying to recover these funds. Furthermore, she also tried to charge me a $400 deposit on my new unit AFTER moving in and signing the lease agreement that DID NOT state anything about a deposit, nor did she verbalize anything to me prior to move in. She just posted a note on my door a week after I moved in. Her maintenance team is not very friendly, and NEVER call before they come to your unit for repairs you may have requested. They just show up. Which in my opinion, I should be notified that they are on their way to my unit so that I may be prepared for them, especially if the request was made days prior. Taylor is hardly ever in the leasing office during normal business hours, even though the hours listed on the door are Mon-Fri 9-5. All in all, I'd say that Taylor isn't a sufficient landlady. And if I were a perspective renter, I WOULD NOT rent from her. You'll end up with a headache like me! read more

I lived here for about 8 weeks. We were in and out so fast we didn't have time to really unpack. When you check out apartments you always make sure they have the things you need and what works for your family. I asked if cadged pets were allowed and told what our pets were. Everything checked out and I signed my lease at one point and my BF signed a day later when he wasn't working. He talked about our pets to her as well. Couple weeks later I came home to my front door being unlocked which was strange. The next day I had a 72 hr notice that we had to move due to our pets. Apparently the manager didn't approve of the pets like we had been told and since the one who showed us the apt didn't want to get in trouble she lied. Since the pets were caged they didn't need to be on the lease we were told. Big mistake because it was harder to prove our case. Now why would I have this big cage in front of the dinning room window that the office can plainly see and you could see if the front door was open if we were trying to hide the pets. Since I had reasonable proof we were able to just leave. Since the down was non refundable we didn't get that back but it was a small price to pay for all the crap we had to go threw. read more
