Having talked to my then-insurance agent, I was told there was nothing I could do but find a new policy (with the new, much higher rates). Suddenly, I had no option but to look for new policies because of a mistake on my part, which my insurance agent should have warned me about. Having known John for years, I contacted him to see if there was any advice he could give me. He went above and beyond (keeping in mind he's not even my insurance agent!) to speak with progressive, discuss the issue, and after a stressful yet productive meeting, we were able to get my policy back up at the normal rates. The adjuster kept in contact with me and returned my calls and Emails promptly. The adjuster never tried to get the auto body shop to cut any corners and paid for repairs not readily evident in the pictures and original estimates. I was totally impressed with this company and how they stood behind their client and treated us with respect all the way throughout the repair process. Last year they ran out the clock and hit us with a $8k/mo premium increase (over double what we were paying). This year our renewals came around and, once again, the increase was outrageous, staggering in comparison to last year's increase. THAT insurance agent used veiled threats, withheld information and basically did everything they could to keep us from shopping, but our new Financial Director told us she has a guy.......and he ended up coming in right under the deadline and saved us a staggering amount of money, with higher coverage that will open up new markets for us. "There's no way there can be that big of a difference", I told the Financial Director. "That can't be right", said the owner of the company. It was right. Constantin patiently answered every inquiry. Unlike my other agent, he was able to intelligently articulate the reasons behind the decisions, the wording, the coverage, the exclusions. We only learned of this requirement at the 11th hour as we were installing the app. Because we refused this burdensome and invasive process, the cost went up another $300. When I explained my frustration regarding this, Mike expressed no regret and certainly offered no apology. It felt like we were just another number to him and not real people. Most people I know value their privacy and do not want to be burdened with manually logging every time they are a passenger. The lack of any kind of empathy, let alone any regret in not telling us sooner, really disappointed us. I suggest Mike warn his clients up front that the price he is quoting (which just so happened to be the Liberty Mutual quote...) that would seem to be beating the competitors' quotes includes an assumption that the client will agree to a personally invasive and burdensome app tracking their every move for a month. Instead, I suggest he be transparent and let folks see the price without the invasive app requirement so they can make an informed decision.
