This place is too small for the crowd it brings. I hate that they don't have the little side room off of the weight area for just women. I hate working out with muscle men clunky weights next to me. They have a great little side room but every area is flooded with men. As for the rest of the place it's usually super busy and I find myself often wanting on a bike or treadmill. I do love the pool and the track though l. They also keep the place clean and it does have a trendy "ironworks" look to it. read more

Pretty bad experience. I signed up for a membership to get my kids swim lessons and they learned absolutely nothing. The price was cheap but unfortunately you get what you pay for. read more

My is tim i cant go to the ymca on beloit because the staff is so rude i saw them yelling at a special needs child. They were rude to me you talk to the manager he wont do anythi g i pay 92 month for what i have never seen staff like that the other ymca on north ave they dont act like that the club is dirty and the pool is not clean stay away not worth the money read more

I was amazed when I took a tour of this YMCA. I love the iron works theme they have going on and this place is huge! They have a big basketball court, rooms for classes, nice dressing rooms with a sauna in it, a giant pool, great workout area and an indoor walking/running path! The nice lady that gave us the tour was nice enough to give my boyfriend some guest passes so that we can come back and workout if we wanted. A very nice facility!!! read more

This place is like the hidden gem of Beloit. They have a huge facility and they are in the process of building a new building in the old Ironworks facility. A few things about the YMCA - The track inside is kind of small but has some weight machines so you can break up your walk/run - The basket ball courts are huge and generally available for free play - The workout area is a little limited and can get busy during peak times, but they have TVs built it to the machines - They provide towels to work out with - The locker rooms are separated so kids don't have to be traumatized by naked people walking around - By far my favorite thing about the Y in Beloit is the swimming pool. It is HUGE, and it is heated. I have never had trouble getting a lane to swim in, and most of the time it is empty. They also offer very reasonable prices for lessons for kids and adults. The swim instructors are excellent, and work well with both kids and adults. Overall an essential part of the Beloit Community with a multitude of activities and sports available for people of all ages. read more

I have been a member of the YMCA for over 8 years on and off. First a member of the Y pentiock in Rockford then the Stateline ones in Roscoe/Beloit. The new facility in Beloit is very nice. I would say the track is kind of goofy, mainly because it is a retrofit, but long (only 6 laps to make a mile). The strength training equipment is new and there are a variety of pieces and plenty of cardio equipment. I personally do work in the free weights area mostly and would have liked to see more area and squat racks, but understand they have limited space and not just a lifting gym. The pools look good and whirlpool which I haven't used but wish I would. The main reason for me staying is the value. I pay $58 for family rate, which both kids and husband take advantage of. Not sure if the prices are that low still, but some gyms charge that price for just one person. read more

Since almost 2 years ago, the Roscoe Y appears to have their own page now. We have since gotten a family membership at the Ironworks Y and WE LOVE IT. The drive is extra for but worth it. The facilities are great and the staff is amazing, especially to my special needs kiddo. I've been very happy with Ironworks Y. I do not go to the Roscoe Y often due to size and some of the other members are just simply awful humans with no regard for others. The Y cannot control that. I will say that Ironworks Y needs to have signage for guests to use their weight machine and then move along and also no clanging or dropping of weights. The heavy bag should also be moved to a different area more out of the way. Parking at Ironworks is a nightmare. There are more spaces in the lot for Hendricks Commercial Employees than are necessary. I just park there anyway. We don't have handicapped parking and it is not safe to haul my son across the road to get him in and out of the Y, even with the new sidewalk. Ironworks has a ways to go before the facility is truly disability accessible but it is still better than most of the Y's in the area. read more
