Wow...three years since their last review! This used to be one of the best places to visit, Tom and Nancy always greeted everyone coming in the door and were never too busy to visit for a few minutes while giving you menus and your drinks. We realize it has changed hands since Nancy's passing, whom we miss. But yesterday, my life partner, his mom, and I stopped in to grab a bite on our way home from Prairie Wind Casino. There were several tables of people that were either done eating or just getting ready to leave. We waited for almost 10 minutes before having to ask for menus! When the kids (literally) brought our food, we had set the empty salt/pepper shakers out and asked for them to be refilled. The kid hands them back to us right there, not refilling them! We said, "they need to be refilled". He goes and brings us a set from another table (ok) but leaves the empty ones. We asked for silverware, the kid (again) brings them and just tosses them haphazardly on the table. When I looked at him, he then all of a sudden starts explaining that there are steak knives in them. When I asked for something that should've come on my food, the kid (again) comes and says they put a "bunch" of it underneath it! It was sour cream, it goes on top or on the side, not the bottom! I never tasted or saw the sour cream, and neither did anyone else sitting at the table. We were never asked how we were doing or if we needed drink refills (yes, two of us did) while we were eating until we were almost finished. She asked as she walked past our table, never missing a step or a beat or giving us a chance to say anything! When the elder at our table was trying to get the girl's attention for the check, she nodded like she was going to get it but then was on her phone, showing it to some guy sitting at the bar. This elderly woman, with a walker, got to the bar and handed the lady her credit card, who then handed it off to the kid to process. She asked him to put the tip on there and he didn't, but just laid her card and the receipt on the bar and walked away! There was no "thank you for coming in", or apologies for the lack of service....nothing! They do have good food but whoever is running it now better get some attitude adjustments done because that place has had a great reputation for a long time, but it won't last if the service yesterday is indicative of how it is every day. I hope they make the changes that are needed! There were no smiles on anyone's (even the kids) faces while we were there. We were very disappointed and hope they step up the attitudes and the service. We will give it another try but hope it is better. If not, they lost a long time customer who tips nicely when it is earned! read more
