We purchased a house in Las Cruces from out of state. During the inspection the inspector said that…read morethere were issues with the drains on the flat roof. So the previous owner had A Mountain Roofing come out to do maintenance / repairs and the repairs that were supposed to be guaranteed! I can only imagine what the previous owner paid for said work. We had a leak so we contacted A Mountain Roofing. Name withheld came out to inspect their work / the drain and roof. He said that the pipe in the roof was cracked! Then proceeded to tell me that the roof needed OVER $20k in maintenance / repairs! The same person also told me that to fix the leak would be over $1,100.00 to repair and another $400.00 for drywall. We called another company and they came out then pulled the cover and inspected the drain. They asked to use the garden hose to run water in the drain just past where the roof meets the drain. They ran water for approximately 10 minutes with no leaking. And said that they would send a crew out to re-coat the inlet to the drain. Then that night we got rain and NO LEAKS. I then contacted the A Mountain employee and said that he was wrong and the issue was the coating around the inlet of the drain. He then accuse me of lying to him. Why would I lie to him? I just wanted the leak / drain fixed The company that fixed the leak charged $250.00 and asked if I knew the paint code or color so they could texture and paint. I told them I have paint and needed to do some touching up I will take care of that. Remember the quote from A Mountain of OVER $1,500.00 and that didn't include painting where the leak caused the paint to fall off. My worthless .02 cents is go ANYWHERE but A Mountain Roofing for roofing‼ The A Mountain employee was a smooth talker and a SALESMAN and could have cared less about the situation that should have been his responsibility! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

About half the roof, along with 7 skylights were damaged. The insurance adjuster just wanted to replace the damage sections but David argued that these tiles were no longer manufactured and any other tile would not match the dimensions or the color. Hence, all of the roof needed replacement. It was a 2100 sf house plus 600 sf garage that required 30 squares of concrete-based hail resistant tiles. They could not do the repair for about 4 months, so a crew was sent to tarp the roof. 4 months later they started, took about a week with an 8 man crew. Result was absolute perfection. Super teamwork and craftsmanship.

So we eliminated certain items and the next bid was $16,562.25. as we went along, I decided I could afford those deleted items and gave Mr. Fiala the go ahead and add those items back in. The time to completion was to be 8 business days. The final amount to be paid to him was $3781.94 (on 7/16/2025) bringing the total to $31,894.79. Then he walked out with the job unfinished. He left the front porch without the second coat of paint and the sealer. I had paid him extra for a 24" box tree at $315.86, which I never got and a 5 gallon vine he was responsible for letting die, because he had not yet finished installing the sprinkler system, and just neglected to water upon planting. That happened with many plants which I re bought. Then he had the nerve to complained when I asked his crew to replant them. We agreed on a drip sprinkler system where each plant would have an adjustable nozzle. so I could control the amount of water each planted for their size and as they grew. At the last minute he put in a hose with holes every 12 inches, hit some plants and totally missing others. This is just a few of the many... what can I call it, neglect, goobers. I believe it is a matter of presenting ones self with knowledge of which you have no idea. As for construction abilities: I could do better than this years ago. He posted pictures of the front of my house. (You'll recognize it by the turquoise color) He used decorative boards, at my expense to cover up mistakes in the quality of the wood or mistakes he made.. also the front cover was way over built for the size. I have given Mr. Fiala numerous calls with no response. This is 10/3/2025. At best he is a con artist...at worst a bad con artist
