The menu includes thick cut filet steaks with wedge potatoes and salad. They also have haggis bon bons that were scrunchy and creamy in taste. Upstairs there is another dinning room, perfect for large parties or private events. A must-eat in Kelso!

I opted for a Thai red curry with jasmine rice, and was really impressed... one of the nicest Thai curries I have had (outside of a Thai restaurant in a long time). My other half went for a vegetarian option from the Daily Specials board - wild mushroom, spinach, and caramelised onion crepe, with ratatouille and fondant potato. This was presented beautifully and was so tasty. Definitely one of the best vegetarian options I have tried in a while. As for desserts, I would have liked to have seen a lighter, fruit-based option, so decided against a dessert. However, my dining companions all ordered desserts and were suitably impressed. If you are looking for somewhere to have a special meal, luck or evening, I don't think you could go wrong with The Cobbles, Kelso.

It'll be nice on a sunny day. Inside, it's more of a pub style vibe. The bar is right when you walk in. Tables on both side of the place. Ladies working we're really sweet. Nothing much to it. Drinks, we kept it simple. Meal wise, they did have some nice selections. Just heads up, most of their battered items are pretty battered. Overall, nice spot for a catch-up, a drink or a quick meal.

We trooped up on a Saturday lunchtime and were immediately impressed by how busy it was. People definitely like this place. The by-product of this was overly busy staff though, but on the plus side the service was still decent. For once I didn't order a starter - its not that I'm greedy I just like to get in the full dining experience - I did fancy mac n cheese though so I got that as a main. I have to say, after all the talking up of Glasgow mac n cheese by others, this was way better than for example Sloans, it was really nice, not too thin and creamy, properly cheesy, firm and toasted on top. This is mac n cheese like my mother used to make. The chips were chunky and crispy and there were plenty of them. My only criticism, salad, why put salad with mac n cheese, it just doesn't go, but everywhere seems to do it. I left the salad, but I was content.
