There are also a lot of places to rest and sit, to enjoy the area and watch the boats enter and exit the harbor. There are pieces of art, whether it be sculptures or murals on walls. It's a very interesting place, focused on tourism but in a tasteful way. We had a good time walking around and enjoying the local flavor in this Norwegian city. We would absolutely come back and visit again when we have the chance.

The restaurants and shops were all buzzing with people. There was a good variety in types of restaurants and shops as well. I really liked the street art. That's basically what I was there for. I love a good mural or beautiful graffiti. I loved the rainbow colored street and buildings. It's just so fun and lively and there is always something to look at while you're enjoying the area. The surrounding area is filled with the stores you see in basic touristy areas of towns all over the world (like Zara and Starbucks) so it's nice to be in this area and see some unique sights. If you're in the area, I highly recommend a visit.

The color streets are really so vibrant. Walking through the rainbow of colored buildings just exudes joy and happiness. What was once a neighborhood full of drab gray buildings is now filled with unique cafes and shops. Perfect place to grab a hibiscus tea from Efendi Tea and Coffee House or take a selfie. Definitely worth a stop while exploring Stavanger.

Taking the day trip from Stavanger to Pulpit Rock was the highlight of our trip while cruising…read morethrough Norway. We took the Boreal bus tour that takes you directly to the trail base ant takes about 50 minutes each way. The trail is well maintained and offers beautiful views of the mountains and Fjiords around the area. It took us about 4 hours to hike round trip with some breaks in between but not a lot of extra time for a picnic or longer breaks. It gets a little crowded on the top and there is a huge line for the iconic top of the rock photo, but it was very organized . Cannot recommend it enough!

We stopped in Stavanger as part of a cruise and decided to venture out of the city to Pulpit Rock…read more We took a bus from Stavanger (booked in advance) to the Pulpit Rock trailhead, about a 1 hour drive. The hike was about 3 hours round trip, mostly uphill on the way there and downhill on the way back. The views at the top of the trail are spectacular. I highly recommend visiting here and doing the hike if you're able to - it's a beautiful spot to visit.

This little neighborhood is so stinking cute. I love architecture in general (new, old, abstract,…read moreutilitarian, doesn't matter, love it all) and seeing these really cute homes from a bygone time is absolutely wonderful. The streets are pretty uneven (they are cobbled and pretty old) and kind of tight. There are also some pretty steep hilly parts, so it may not be the most accessible place but it's well worth the visit if you can. We walked around, taking pictures of the gorgeous, quaint wooden homes. I really loved how the homeowners decorate with flowers and potted plants. There were also really cute side gardens to look at and take pictures of. There are some restaurants and park areas to have a drink or rest a bit while you are taking in the sights. If you are coming here from the cruise ship port, it will be quite the steep uphill walk to get to the neighborhood.

THREE SWORDS MONUMENT: What an awesome and mammoth sculpture, so tastefully done in Nordic fashion…read more Symbolizing unity and peace, the idea and sculpture looks very "Lord of the Rings" like. Visually stunning. Took the bus from city centre for 11 bus stops and we were at a little beach park. The swords are very striking. You can climb the rocks and access it very easily. Lots of park benches and a snack/ice cream kiosk in the parking lot.

The two lower sword represent the defeated petty kings. The three swords stand 30 feet tall. It can be spot far away. The swords is great photo spot for great photos. The sword planted in triangle shape. You might want to watch where you stand because rock is uneven. To reach here you can take the public bus or hop on hop off bus to reach here. If you take the bus, you will need to walk from bus station to destination about 8 minutes.
