    Stavanger is a great city, with a lot of history but also very modern…read more I loved visiting the open air museum that features an old preserved maritime neighborhood (Gamle Stavanger). It was nice to be able to step back into history and see how people lived in the past. It was nice to see that people still live there and cherish the beauty of their neighborhood. There are also many other interesting museums to check out in this town, like the canning and printing museum. The parks are nice, with plenty of places to sit and relax. The harbor had a lot of activity and places to eat, drink and shop. The harbor also has a lot of companies that do boat tours of the fjord. This was an amazing experience and the area around Stavanger has amazing natural wonder. It was nice to see some modern buildings, with eco friendly building practices mixed in with the traditional.

Many oil companies call Stavanger home because of all the oil fields in the area. Stavanger is also a tourist destination. There are many museums to explore. Old Stavanger and the Stavanger Cathedral are "Must Visit" spots. The city is a port of call on many cruise itineraries. For hikers, Stavanger makes for a wonderful place to stay. Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock) is very close by. Kjeragbolten is further away, but still accessible from Stavanger.
