I've been training in muay thai for over 5 years, at multiple facilities in and around the city, and Stay Fly is by far the best camp I have ever entered. Stay Fly is one of the only camps where you are guaranteed to get instruction from an active, professional fighter who is in the upper echelon of the sport, in the form of the gym's owner and head instructor, Justin Greskiewicz. Justin has fought as a professional Muay Thai fighter for the better part of the last decade and has faced some of the absolute best in the world. You'd be hardpressed to find instruction anything like what you'll recieve from Justin and former world champion, Eric Utsch, who teaches a Dutch style thai-boxing class on Thursday nights. I have trained under Justin for several years and can honestly say he has a true passion for the art. He really takes the time and you can quickly tell that he gets just as much fulfillment out of sharing this amazing sport as students due from learning it. Absolutely come to this gym. I could list ten reasons why this place deserves 5 stars, but the number one reason is the owner/head instructor Justin Greskiewicz. I know from experience one of the most difficult parts of teaching is being able to help people from all ends of the spectrum. Whether you are brand new to Thai boxing or are seasoned he will be able help your skill set to the point were your excited about your improvements and won't want to leave. Justin is a world class fighter no questions about it, but that doesn't mean you have to be in order to fit into Sty fly's environment. I'm an instructor at the Easton Training Center in Boulder Colorado. When I was in Philly last week meeting up with some friends I knew I would need to find a gym to train at while on vacation. After doing some research and following Justin's pro career for the past year or so, Stay Fly seemed like the only logical option. I knew my experience at this gym was going to be good, but the reality blew my expectations out of the water. Both Justin G. and Eric Utsch are well-versed in both Dutch and Thai style kickboxing at such an in-depth level that it is impossible to not learn something new from every session an aspiring fighter attends. I can't recommend Stay Fly enough. The people training there were as kind as possible and I did not feel a semblance or hostility as I was visiting from a different gym. Unlike a lot of the fighters who train there, I had no experience whatsoever when I joined Stay Fly. Justin is really good at breaking down techniques so they're easier to understand, and I feel like I'm training with a lot more confidence and skill than when I started. The other fighters at SFMT are always willing to help me with my technique, and in general the atmosphere is friendly to fighters of all skill levels. Also, the cardio during training is really effective, and I find that training there is a harder workout than just going to the gym. Overall, I would recommend giving Stay Fly a try, regardless of whether you have experience or are "in shape" (I definitely wasn't when I started). I started training Muay Thai here and met the head coach and owner, Justin, on my first day of training. He's a great guy who will work with you no matter what your skill level. This place got me in shape, got me more interested in this awesome sport, and gave me access to a whole network of awesome friends that I wouldn't give up for the world. Most of all, it gave me confidence. After I started training here, I began working at a college as a janitor, even though I felt like I'm smarter than most of the people who go there. I became best friends with Ben Affleck. Sometimes I see an equation written on a blackboard like half an equation and... I just figure it out. Definitely the best Muay Thai gym in Philly, and probably will be one of the best in the US given some time. Justin is super helpful and doesn't "play favorites", so you get the same training if you're a pro fighter or just do Muay Thai as a hobby. The gym has a bunch of up-and-coming amateur kickboxers, and occasionally a UFC or Bellator fighter will come through for training. The facilities are great, and Justin is always trying improve them. 6 heavy bags, 2 rings, and most importantly, CLEAN MATS. The gym also hosts guest instructors from time to time, so you'll learn a range of kickboxing styles by training there. Stay fly is great. I have trained at my gyms around the country over the years and this is easily one of the best. The gym is very large with two rings, a large matted area, an area for weights, and a lounge. One thing that I always look for is how clean and well maintained a gym is. This gym is very clean. Parking couldn't be more convenient. There are plenty of bags and pads for working out on. Justin and Eric are top level instructors that have both knowledge and the ability to teach their knowledge to students. Recently there was a seminar by Artem Levin that was excellent and an exceptional value for the already low cost.
