We recently needed a new battery and a tune-up for our generator. The sales clerk at Batteries Plus recommended a specific battery, which we purchased. We took the generator and the battery to a repair shop on Johnson Road. It took the shop 15 days to look at it, at which point they informed us that the battery recommended by the Batteries Plus sale clerk did not fit our generator. When we attempted to return the unopened battery to Batteries Plus, they refused to issue a refund or accept an exchange. The manager also reviewed the situation and upheld the refusal. They cited two reasons: 1. We were one day past their 14-day return window. 2. They claimed they could not accept a return on a dead battery (though they offered a warranty exchange for another one). (NOTE: The battery had lost its charge while sitting on the shelf) To make matters worse, the correct battery we actually need is half the price of the one the clerk originally sold us. Please be sure to double-check any battery before making a purchase from them, as their return policy is very strict and they did not accommodate a mistake made by their own staff and selling us a bad battery.
