    Missing Season
    Dalena N.

My sis and I came back here for the 2nd time. This time to celebrate her birthday with her friends, we tried the Missing Season. We loved how beautifully the rooms are decorated and Gamemaster Manny was super nice, friendly and helpful in making the escape game enjoyable. Thank you for the great pics, GM Manny! We had so much fun that we spontaneously booked The Lost Expedition right after we finished Missing Season It nice that they gave us 20% coupon off for the 2nd room. I appreciate that their rooms are NOT the horror-scary type but more on the magical-adventure type. Now that I completed all three rooms, each room does have unique puzzles & riddles and I enjoy how the puzzles are connected to the lore of that room. It is super interactive & detail oriented and it's really important to be observant. I would say all rooms are family-friendly. The puzzles are tricky enough that these rooms might be hard if it is your 1st time escaping. However, the staff do a really good job of guiding through and really wanting you to enjoy the experience that makes it beginner friendly. Except Lost Expedition - that one is a very challenging but oh so fun! I adore the scifi hi-tech in Neighbor, the super cute ending of Missing Season ( a nice touch ), and the props of Lost Expedition. I wish Steal and Escape to have more rooms in the future for us to try because I like how they format and create their rooms and how nice their staff are. Other Pro: parking lot is still spacious and easy to find plenty of free parking spots. Free Lockers storage to put belongings away. Main door is unlocked so you can use the restroom anytime. Cool and friendly staff.

Big thank you to Robert and Ben who made our experience memorable (and to Jordan for the great pre-arrival customer service)!! We're escape enthusiasts and were so glad we were able to play "The Neighbor" and "Missing Season" when we were in town. Both were unique, well designed, and had fun surprises throughout. They're hard to compare, but I enjoyed The Neighbor slightly more because of the variety and quality of puzzles and the clue delivery system... my husband enjoyed Missing Season for the comedic storyline and more physical puzzles. We hope we can make it back soon with friends so we can try out "Lost Expedition!"

Great time!! Very entertaining went with a group of 7 for some after Thanksgiving fun with the family. Manny number 2 was a great game master.

We are escape room enthusiasts and we knew we had to play some rooms at Steal & Escape during our San Diego trip. We have done 100+ rooms and we booked The Neighbor as our first room and The Lost Expedition as our second room. We played them back to back. Our team of five absolutely LOVED The Neighbor room. There was plenty for all of us to do and the way you interact with the house was freaking awesome. We all had a blast in this room. We also really enjoyed The Lost Expedition and it had a lot of cool elements + a split start. Overall the puzzles didn't flow as well as the first room, so our favorite ended up being The Neighbor. Highly recommend!

I booked a session for Saturday at 1pm maybe 2 weeks in advance. A lot of the other slots were taken that day but I was happy with 1pm. You have to pay for at least 3 tickets. You can add up to 8, I believe. I paid for the rest when I got there. Plenty of parking spaces. They have lockers to put your stuff. We had a group of 5 for a mom's day out activity. We chose The Neighbor. I've done an escape room before but I had never heard of a steal and escape. The company we worked for wanted us to steal technology from a neighbor and escape. There are several rooms set up for this. We had so much fun figuring out everything. Being able to ask for hints and clues were a big help. We got out with 5 min to spare. All of the employees were cool and super nice. I'm trying to convince my husband to come next time!

I found it to be better than a haunted house, cuz I was so enveloped with figuring out the clues that I would forget about the scares and I never knew when the scares would come. It was a multi room escape room and I would consider it a medium to hard level. Our game master was super friendly and helpful when we needed hints. I think we did a total of two hint through out the game and we managed to beat the clock and got out in time! The parking wasn't the best, it was all street parking with meters. When you get to the location it is a bit hard to find the front door because it is on the back side of the building up some stairs. But there is some signage to help you find the door if you get lost.

However, the Japanese Thriller barely felt on theme with the serial killer storyline other than the introduction video we received. I prefer escape rooms where I actually feel like I'm part of the story. This was a very different escape room than I have done before. While you always have to split up for escape rooms, this time we were forced to separate between multiple rooms so you had no idea how the other group was doing (this isn't great when you're forced to solve the room with strangers because you have no idea if they know what they're doing). It was definitely more chaotic than other escape rooms I've done. The rooms were small and they use locks for a lot of the puzzles, which isn't innovative. They also forgot to put back one of the pieces we needed to get the final combination, so we almost didn't make it out because we had to keep guessing. HOWEVER, the worst part of the entire experience was how RUDE the man was that was helping us on the walkie talkie. He would give us attitude every time we asked for a clue. Why give clues if you're going to rude when people use them?

My group of friends and I planned a trip to San Diego and a escape room was on our list of things to do. Luckily, this location was able to accommodate our group of 14! We had one group do the clownatorium room and the other did the hotel. We did our escape room back in September at night around 8PM. Upon entering, it was a little confusing trying to figure out where the entrance was. We first went upstairs to the door which turned out to be an exit, and then to the main entrance on the bottom floor. We knocked on the door with no answer and we were confused, so my friend called them and turns out a group was still finishing. No biggie! I don't want to spoil the rooms, but we were amazed by the effects and the challenges you had to do. Everything was super fun. The owner of Nightwalker and the other two game masters, Griffin and our clown (I forgot his name unfortunately!) were amazing. You have unlimited clues in the form of riddles. They were even so kind to let us tour each others' escape room once everyone was finished! They showed us the cool nooks and crannies of the other room. They let us take our time, we finally left the building at around 11:30PM. A friendly reminder that the rooms are on the mature side, and the minimum age to book is 14 years old. Our clown made some hilarious NSFW jokes while we were scrambling around to find out clues for our room. I highly recommend this escape room to anyone that is visiting San Diego!

You can tell they genuinely want you to have a great time. The rooms themselves are incredibly creative and immersive, with puzzles that go far beyond the usual "open another lock" style. They're detailed, clever, and full of surprises. I've done 3 of the 5 rooms so far, and every single group I've gone with has had an absolute blast. Something that really matters to me is having a private room. It makes the entire experience so much more enjoyable and comfortable, whether you're going with family, friends, or coworkers. Some escape rooms try to maximize capacity by filling rooms with as many people as possible, and that often means I don't get a fair chance to participate in the puzzles (which can be frustrating). At Lara's Labyrinth, every room is completely private, so you're never paired with strangers, and your group can fully enjoy the experience together. INCLUSIVE IN EVERY BEST WAY POSSIBLE! My friend and I recently brought our kids here to try out the Scooby Doo room after we had previously only been to the Belmont Park location. The customer service here is above and beyond! My first experience with the female manager was me calling to see if we could reschedule even with our Groupon because a member of our party came down with a stomach flu like 2 hrs before our reservation. I then started talking to her about how we had autism in our crew in addition to us being interested in Kids Mode. We were quickly taught Kids Mode is basically making any room autism friendly because it means we can request basically any accommodation from no light flickering feature go lightning, turning down noise volume, getting a checklist to make sure we don't skip any steps, giving picture hints instead of some wordy riddle hints, and being able to ask for as many hints as needed. Once we arrived, another manager, Ben, was who was working the front desk along with Pedro as a game master and another team member as a game master behind the scenes as well. Ben went ABOVE AND BEYOND. He took his time taking us with our kids into the room to get familiar with the new environment. He explained what was to be expected to minimize any anxiety about unknowns, and even explained features of the room. He also added to the magic by getting into character and speaking like Scooby Doo for us! He also came in to check on us throughout the game, as he promised, showed the kids they aren't really locked inside and could take as many breaks as needed and could leave the Scooby Doo room and let us use our visual timers for our kids. There was literally no accommodation left behind and made our experience not only inclusive for someone who is photosensitive (medically sensitive to lighting), but autism friendly in LITERALLY every way possible. One of us also brought a walker and there were no problems with physically accessibility either. Overall, we cannot recommend this location any higher than we do! We would give 100/5 stars if we could!!! We had an incredible time!
