Amazing gym. Great people. Greater athletes. It's the perfect place for new athletes and for experienced ones.

I'm no body builder, lol, and I would have been intimidated to join here, if not for my trainer,…read morebut coming from VASA this place is the bomb. It's clean, organized, and has a different type of clientele than other gyms. People are here to workout and not play on their phones and hog machines. It's a gym, not a country club.

This was literally the worst customer experience I've ever had. My wife and I drove 30 minutes…read more from Centennial to try out Golds Gym for the first time. After walking around and seeing body builders left and right, we decided this wasn't a great environment to build confidence for 'normal' or 'average' gym people. My wife is really into fitness and this was the birthday event for us to have time at a new gym with the kids in school. We paid for day passes online ($25/ea) and I stuck around at the receptionist counter to get a refund while my wife went out to the car. We were in a rush to go try out a different gym so I was anxious to get out of there. The person at the desk sat on hold on the phone ignoring me and the person in front of me for about 5 minutes. Finally after getting off the phone, she acknowledged me. I asked for a refund, she said she would have to ask the manager, Olivia Something. 2 different times the front desk person went back to tell the manager, I was waiting. From where she was in her office, she was directly in my line of sight and could feel me looking at her. After waiting about 8 more minutes I went and stood at her office door and asked her to refund me so I could leave. She talked to me like I was stupid and said she could only refund my wife because she didn't see my name associated with a purchase. I could see my name on the computer screen and pointed that out to her. She said there was no purchase associated with that name, which is ridiculous because I had to put my credit card information in for my day pass. In the end I was so frustrated I just left, $25 and an hour and a half wasted on my wife's birthday. Thanks, Golds Gym, and General Manager Olivia! You guys are setting new heights for customer service standards everywhere. 0 out of 5 stars. I sent this review to the Golds Gym Facebook account and there response verbatim was "Hi Joshua, Thanks for reaching out! For any questions about memberships, cancellations, billing, or feedback, please contact your local Gold's Gym directly."

Before you think I'm some crazy workout junkie- stop. I'm not. Ever since I quit playing soccer…read morewhen I got a scholarship to college, my motto has been, "I've worked out enough my entire life, I never have to again." I was a yoga nut for awhile there, but after that faded out, I spent 6 years sedentary and smoking cigarettes. My sister was practically begging me to go with her to work out here. She told me Ryan was so nice and I wouldn't be intimidated. I thought, "Yeah, you want me to go because misery loves company. But I love chocolate cake more." Yet one sad and lonely day, she convinced me to come. I'm a huge body positivity fan. Like, love your body whatever it looks like, don't make yourself miserable dieting and yo-yo-ing and living your life in a state of "can't," etc. I saw the fitsperational posters on the wall and almost ran off. Glad I didn't. Ryan White is the kindest, most soft-spoken, yet motivating and hilarious trainers I've come across. He didn't make me feel gross, fat, or "less-than" when I showed up. Read this: I NEVER FEEL JUDGED. He also doesn't let me cop out. The workouts go quickly, I'm sore as all get out for the next couple days, and somehow I'm ready and rearing for the next one. It took two weeks of hard work and one day I was hiking a normal path I take with my dogs that used to make me miserably winded. I made it to the top and noticed I wasn't even breathing hard. In fact, I wanted to keep going. I felt STRONGER. I had more energy. I feel good about myself. And I still don't count calories or think about my love handles or hate myself. Give this gym a shot- it is so worth it.

Each month, they do provide discounts on certain programmes for anyone who is interested in climbing. I like to climb with Hubs on the weekends, especially on a Saturday morning when there are a few climbers. But my favorite time to climb is during the weekday mornings or afternoons when this place can just be called "my own sanctuary". During the weekdays especially from 5 pm onwards this place can be jam-packed with climbers alike. Each month and every other month, they do change the routes for climbers to progress in their climbing with different range of climbing difficulties. There is also a place for you to do bouldering as well if you dont have a climbing partner to belay. Even my cousin from Singapore who came for a visit sometime around July/August 2009 was awed about this place. If you want, do give them a try to climb. Call them for enquiries or you can visit their website for details : http://www.rocknandjamn.com/ For those who are new into climbing, they do provide introductory classes with a minimal fee that provides the time you climb, the instructor fee, and rental fee of the equipment. If you want you also can contact, the climbers from meetup.com, who climb regularly be it here or the location in Centennial, CO. Thank you Rock'n & Jam'n for making me loving you at the first sight, and now call Colorado home to climb indoors....
