The rooms were clean, updated, and spacious. I liked that they provided dishes for guests to use, both glasses and silverware (which is nice because at most places you have to stab someone to get this). Our suite included a huge hot tub style bath, although water pressure could of been better to fill this faster. The views from the balcony were nice, even if you were watching some of the locals down the way get buck wild drunk and light fireworks off while it is still a couple months until 4th of July. All in all, I would definitely visit here again. I had no problem with services, but would note that if you're from a larger city and visiting here expect small town hospitality, they wont treat you like you're the King of England. Intend to visit again for some R&R.

Based on other reviews, we chose this motel & we will most certainly be back but next time for a few days to explore the area, not just a one night passing thru visit. The grounds are immaculate with plenty of parking space for vehicles towing trailers or large motorcycle groups, it has a sturdy gravel topping, good for snow & dust free. They hold events here sometimes so they have a large patio area with a stage, firepit & "Roadhouse Bar", see pic. There are chickens roaming the motel area, there were little chicks while we were there. The owner, Scott, & his wife, are extremely friendly & they have owned this property for 18 years so they are a wealth of knowledge. The rooms appear to have been recently renovated & are roomy & extremely clean! Each room has a table & chair set inside & outside. We were welcomed, upon check-in, with a choice of fresh iced tea, or a beer, several brands & a cookie. We wanted to get away for our anniversary and decided to go to McCall. We moved to the Greater…read moreBoise area about six weeks ago and McCall was recommended. We chose the Nordic Inn based on the two Yelp reviews available. I can't find any evidence of correspondence but I thought I had let them know that it was our anniversary. When we arrived in McCall, it was about 11 am. We inquired of the woman at the counter about early check-in. She really didn't answer, just smiled and indicated that 3 pm was check-in time. It was an odd exchange. We asked about recommendations for restaurants for lunch. She just said "Everything is good". Not much help. When we came back, just after 3, the office was locked and another man was waiting. We stood there another five minutes, wondering what was going on, before a woman showed up, explaining that she was in the laundry room, taking care of a problem. She was nice and cheerful, and got us checked in fairly quickly. We were given a first floor room. Our small window was facing the stairwell. For our anniversary. The room was small but clean. There is a cool glass and metal barn door covering the bathroom entrance. The vanity and bathroom/shower are very small. There was no box of tissues in the room. The shower water pressure is weak. The fan works great. The AC works fine. There is a shortage of electrical outlets, none on my side of the king bed. The bed was reasonably comfortable. The property is located on the main drag, a medium walk from the lake and main downtown area. Dark wood and rustic looking. The parking lot could stand to be repaved. When we checked out, about 10:45 am, there was no one in the office. We dropped the keys in the box. We will definitely return to McCall, but I don't think we'll be back to the Nordic Inn.

We enjoyed a two hour leisurely breakfast while making new friends with the other guests. And sure could have downed our breakfast and been out of there in 15 minutes, but this is one of those hunting lodges that just makes you want to kick back and stay a while. The lodge was built by the current owner, who ran a custom home business, and the grand lodge design was really well thought out, the rooms were really spacious, and we loved how the rooms above wrapped around the big open style living room. This retreat is situated above the river in a truly picturesque high desert landscape.
