We really enjoyed our stay at this remote river retreat. Imnaha has got to be one of the most remote places in the state, but it is also one of my favorite, with abundabt wild life and incredible scenery nearby, including the Seven Devils Mountain Range, Hells Canyon, the Snake River, the Wallowas known as the "Swiss Alps" of Oregon, the cute little town of Joseph, and Hat Point.
We enjoyed a two hour leisurely breakfast while making new friends with the other guests. And sure could have downed our breakfast and been out of there in 15 minutes, but this is one of those hunting lodges that just makes you want to kick back and stay a while. The lodge was built by the current owner, who ran a custom home business, and the grand lodge design was really well thought out, the rooms were really spacious, and we loved how the rooms above wrapped around the big open style living room. This retreat is situated above the river in a truly picturesque high desert landscape. read more
