This place, in contrast has made lemonaid out of lemons so to speak. The room was great, as always. The staff was great, as always. They no longer have a breakfast buffet.... most motels have stopped offering it while not reducing their room rates. The Eagle's view came up with an interesting solution. You fill out a menu of what you want in the morning and when you'll show up and hot coffee and all the goodies you ordered are waiting when you get there. Being a big eater I was concerned that the portions would be skimpy. But the gal working the b'fast really heaped on the food. It was great! The kids I saw loved it. Complaints made by others are mostly valid but relatively minor. Also very patriotic decor no doubt but in a good way. Nothing pushy or confrontational. Front Desk help I dealt with was professional. Nearby sister location is an unusually posh Super 8, also generally more expensive than its peers.

The breakfast was delicious and just enough. Owners, John and Pepper, chatted with us and John ate with us. It was enjoyable to find out their story and to learn the history of the mansion and of the town of Joseph from John.
