My parents hired L&S Home Improvements LLC 4/12/2023 for an entire house remodel. The signed…read morecontract guaranteed 55 days for completion working 6 days a week 12 hour days. My parents paid in full mid May 2023 (BIG MISTAKE). It is January 6, 2024 the work is still incomplete with numerous contract violations and continued new false commitments. We have received estimates from 3 other companies to finish the incomplete work from the original contract which totals 1/3 of the original cost. The work performed and state the home was left was not up to code and required my parents to come out to pocket to fix leaks and electrical wires just hanging out of the walls. We were promised reimbursement that we continue to receive excuses as to why that hasn't happened. We have been more than patient however unfortunately this company is unprofessional, has poor workmanship and very unreliable. The subcontractor he currently uses had his BBB revoked. We have photos, paperwork, receipts, text conversations that support more than disclosed above. I HIGHLY recommend staying as far away from this company as possible.

Our 40-year old decks were in need either of replacement or significant maintenance, so having seen…read morean ad in a local publication, in the spring of 2020 we contacted American Deck Builders (ADB) and several other contractors, sending photos and measurements with a request for quotes. ADB responded within two days with a well-defined replacement project description and cost with options for pressure treated wood or Trex synthetic material. (The other contractors either did not bid or in one case, provided a cost number with absolutely no description of the work to be done.) We responded to ADB that we were interested in taking the next step and co-owner Brendon Lawrence subsequently came to examine the project and brought material and color samples. We selected Trex, chose color and affirmed our desire to proceed. Unfortunately, the pandemic shutdowns were initiated and work could not progress until spring 2021. Brendon and co-owner/project supervisor Brendan (last name??) came again to finalize the project and offered a couple of great suggestions on some details. ADB obtained the building permit and began work that same day with a crew of five. Teardown of the three existing decks took less than a day. Although the weather was initially uncooperative, they worked through cold and snow--but not rain. Starting at 7am each day, the experienced crew worked smoothly and cooperatively to accomplish their tasks. Each of the eight nights, they picked up and stored all materials, scrap and tools, leaving the grounds as neat as possible while the project was underway. They did an amazing job, displaying terrific attention to detail and workmanship. When the job was completed after nine days, we could not have been more pleased with the results. American Deck Builders gets five stars from us.

I called JR Masonry and Hardscaping to rebuild my crumbling brick-and-stone front steps. The day I called, he said he would stop by at 5:00 to do an estimate. He arrived precisely on time. We agreed on the work and a price, with the work scheduled to start Monday of the following week. On that Monday, Mr. Ruiz and his assistant were quietly unloading their supplies when I first looked out. They were ready to start work at 8:00 as scheduled. This job was somewhat complicated, as the bricks used were from 1962 and are of a size and style that are no longer in production. Mr. Ruiz painstakingly cleaned the old bricks and with some clever workarounds, did an excellent job with the result matching the rest of the house's brickwork perfectly. In spite of the complication, the price was as quoted. I can wholeheartedly recommend JR. They did what they promised, when they promised, ,at the agreed-upon price, and thoroughly cleaned up after the job was done. During the entire process, Mr. Ruiz and his assistant were always very pleasant and courteous. These qualities are all too rare today.
