Recently, the staff ( receptionist/scheduling) has been challenging and lack of availability of hygienist and/or late appointments or Saturday appointment availability. In the last 90 days. I go to schedule an appointment. Schedule the appointment then get a call a few hours later or the next day to tell me they cannot accommodate that I would need to reschedule. Happened at least 5 times in the month of January and February. This week I received a call that they needed my appointment slot for an emergency patient and needed to reschedule my appointment for either later in that day or later in the week. My question to scheduler why couldn't the emergency patient take the 3pm appointment that they were offering me instead of pulling my booked appointment. No, true answer was given and at that moment. I felt that I no longer mattered as an individual. Then, the following day, received a call that my appointment for April 6th had to be moved. There would be no hygienist available. After considering my options I made a decision to pull my dental records and find another practice. I work in the city of Chicago and it's very difficult for me with no late and Saturday appointment options to get back to the suburbs during the week. I do highly recommend their services if you have the flexibility for scheduling during the week. .

(unfortunately his office does not accept her insurance) for a second opinion. He wrote down his findings and told me what he saw. I take his recommendations to her appointment with me today and the dentist seemed upset that I actually took her for a second opinion. She would not even look at what he had recommended. She said that she too went to dental school and it didn't matter to her. She was very vague about what exactly my daughter needed done and would not go into details with me. She made me seem like i was a jerk for getting a second opinion regarding my daughters health. We finally agreed that she would fill the one cavity. She put the q- tip with the gel on it for literally 5 seconds before injecting my daughter. I know from experience they let that sit on the gums a few minutes before the injection to give it time to numb the area. After the filling of the tooth you would think the Doctor would talk to me but no. The assistant came to tell me that the tooth might require a root canal. He said they will look at it next time she comes back. There will not be a next time.

FINALLY... A DENTIST WITH COMPASSION. After 3 days I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER. Root Canal is scheduled for next week DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND!! I was seen and prescribed an antibiotic for infection (which did not work). I have been in pain for the past week and they refused to give a different prescription- their only concern was getting me back in there for a $5k root canal or $400 extraction fee. They could've just prescribed a heavier dose of antibiotic to begin with, or maybe this is how they force patients to return right away for costly procedures.

Dr. Mintz has performed 4 of them and soon will also redo the one that I had my precious dentist do (BAD mistake). I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Mintz for any kind of endodontic procedure. It seems a little pricey but worth every cent. He is very skilled in his craft and confident in his work. I feel more at ease in his office getting a root canal than I do just going into the dentist for a cleaning! The Chicago Heights office is beautiful and very state of the art with a relaxing feel. I am very glad that I found Dr. Mintz and will continue to be a patient. I called back in January just to find out that they never sent it to my insurance and that they were going to send it "right now." I have never had to wait more than 5 days to hear back from my insurance. Almost 5 months of waiting. This is disheartening since I have something pretty serious going on with my tooth and now I have to find a new endodontist and have my records sent over to them.

They were able to get me in…read morethe following morning and Dr Corns was able to start an emergency root canal immediately after imaging and seeing me. Both of his assistants are amazing and very kind and informative as well as Dr. Corns. You could immediately tell he's very good at what he does, instead of the usual numbing at a dentist that numbs your entire face he numbed only the tooth and area immediately around it and the entire root canal was completely painless. They do separate the procedure into two visits about a month apart because he said because there are much better outcomes this way. After leaving that first day my tooth was completely pain free and only had to wait two hrs before I could eat normally. My tooth felt completely back to normal in between visits and the second part was very quick and also painless. Everyone I met was extremely kind, professional, and talented. Pricing was a little less than the quote I received on the phone and in line with the other places I called around to, but most of them couldn't fit me in for weeks, and even though his schedule was full he got me almost immediately. I've always heard root canals were painful but I've felt absolutely no pain during or since the procedure. I can't recommend Dr Corns and his team enough, my only regret is that he doesn't do general dentistry or I'd have a new dentist. Their offices were nice, clean and very comfortable as well. Complete experience was a 10/10.
