We've lived here a little over a year. We chose these apartments as we loved the "park like…read moresetting" of our large "backyard". They do a great job of keeping up the grounds and the maintenance team is amazing (and kind). I'm not sure if this is true across the complex, but the people in our building are kind and thoughtful. The complex isn't huge which I think helps keep the community feeling a little more. There are many dogs here (we have an ESA dog - in our photos) and I'm thrilled that I rarely see dog poop around here. We also love the easy access to Steilacoom Park (and walk there daily). The buildings were built in the 70s (I think) and have some quirky things about them (e.g. 15 A circuits which blow a lot) but many of the units are updating to various degrees. But I take the grounds and neighbors over a modern unit. We do periodically have to do battle with ants :-) Yes... all of the photos are really of our dog, but they show the backyard really well (and some of the many visitors we get)

Its like a small zoo around here - LOL. Seriously - the grounds are well maintained. The condos are vintage and updated as needed, and they do a great job in keeping them in "good too great" condition. Management is jolly on the spot with getting things done. I would highly recommend this community.

Bottom line up front: Dont live here!…read more I lived in a 1 bedroom apartment here for 6 months. I had originally signed up for a month to month apartment because I knew I was set to deploy to Afghanistan a few months after arriving at JBLM. To begin with, and this should have been the first red flag. The management person miscalculated my initial move in costs and then tried to tell me that I was late on my first payment a week later even though I had paid a prorated rate for my initial week and the following month. They tried to charge my for a late charge of $50 for the $60 difference they had miscalculated. I got that resolved after bestowing some logical thought process on the otherwise room temperature IQ of the manager who will remain nameless. Well I came to find out that there is some fine print that was not disclosed to me when I signed my rental contract that states its "month to month" for a minimum of 9 months. So come time to serve my country, I had my deposit withheld for breaking my lease to include some additional charges for burnt out light bulbs and other "wear and tear" items around the apartment that were not functional to begin with. I even paid 3 weeks beyond my move out to compensate them through the end of the month even though I got orders to deploy 3 days before my flight left. So one months rent, my deposit and $100 in additional charges is what it cost me to deploy. So even though I gave them contact info for my deployment, they sent a letter to my home of record (my folks) threatening to go to collections for the additional charges without ever contacting me first. Terrible management that is in the business of collecting deposits and screwing over Soldiers. I wont be seeing any of my deposit, but if I can forewarn at least one Soldier from falling into their little scheme they run over there Ive done my job. If the above isn't enough, the living conditions are pretty poor as well. Mediocre to poor fit and finish of all finish work. Traffic noise from Steilacoom Blvd can be pretty bad through their cheap un insulated windows Bottom line: Find somewhere else to live

We were excited about the layout, the location, and what seemed like a family-friendly environment until we walked the grounds. While looking around we noticed several dogs running loose in different areas without any owners in sight. One dog in particular stood out a large muscular breed that appeared very aggressive. It was barking loudly, lunging toward people, and had no leash or supervision. My kids were right beside me, and I had to quickly pick them up and move away. My heart was racing the entire time. As a dad, my number one priority is keeping my family safe, especially my little ones who are still so small and curious about everything around them. I understand that pets are allowed, and that's fine, but loose, aggressive dogs in common areas create a serious safety risk. I kept imagining what could happen if one of my children wandered too close or if a dog got startled. We just can't take that chance. After talking it over with my wife, we decided with heavy heart that we cannot move into the community. We were really hoping this would be our new home. But the safety of our kids must come first. Sincerely, Logan Powell.
