I came in on Saturday and had a great experience with Linda. I ended up suddenly having to leave to pick up my brother. I came back the following Monday with my boyfriend and was greeted pretty sourish by a Susan. She had a bad attitude slick remarks and overall just made me and my boyfriend feel uncomfortable when purchasing our decided furniture. We ask questions because we don't know. We don't work there. Yes we want to know about colors. Areas in the store. It would have been nice for Linda to have been there today to help us she was welcoming and overall just happy and helpful. Susan killed my entire vibe we were having a great time without her needed comments or not answering our questions I asked her what the price of our bed set was when checking out and she said I'm not good at math. So many negative reviews but no issues for us! Purchased two separate sets of couches over the last several months. Both times we visited Steinhafels our experience with the sales people and service were outstanding! One little issue with the wedge section in the sectional. Steinhaufels is a deceptive company. Buyer beware when it pertains to purchasing anything online. If you don't like it and want to return it for any valid reason whatsoever, like if something was defective, you will have to drop it off at one of these two locations, Waukesha, or Kenosha. They won't pick up anything, and you will be responsible for their non-negotiable 15% percent restocking fees. They don't care if you never reurned anything from their stores before and or spent thousands upon thousands of dollars worth of their products. No love for the consumer. Delivery person who put furniture together (a brand new bed frame) damaged bed foot board by gouging it. Could only get repaired not a new foot board replaced and I paid extra for delivery and to put together. By filling in with hard wax and coloring the damaged area. Now within six months the headboard is loosening from slide stats and have to pay over $150 ahead of time for tech to look at it. Horrible customer service and they don't seem to care. read more

Sometimes I wonder how they stay open. Quality has steeply declined over the years. You'll be bombarded by sales people the minute you walk in the door, and bombarded more as you move into different areas of the store. I was approached 7-10 times last time I was there. Steinhafels is something that was better for older generations of people but has since joined the corporate way of maintaining margins by skimping on quality, and apparently creating such a dismal pay structure and work environment that you are constantly harassed throughout the process. I bought a wine cabinet and after unboxing the top left corner was cracked significantly. This was not a clearance item, but was the last one they had, and Steinhafels could not replace. Steinhafels offered a 12% refund or told me I could return it (with a $75 restock fee). Terrible customer service to make me pay for damage I had no control over. Buyer beware! This is not the same Steinhafel's we grew up with. Quality is compromised and they advertise clearance prices because they purchased some things from Shopko, who went out of business. Purchased 4 bar stools and was told they were assembled, when I got the dock after purchasing (restocking fee if you return), I see the box says "Shopko" made in Malasia. Had furniture from the 90's that's still holding on but I don't believe that to be the case with this way of business. 3 of the 4 chairs cannot be properly assembled as holes were mis drilled at Factory which is a hazard of breaking and could cause serious injury if Collapsed. read more

[Update on Nov. 6] This is an update of my earlier review. We needed a love seat on short notice, and decided on the "Turin" leather love seat, as shown on the website. We liked the color shown, and believed that, as a "Natuzzi" product, it'd be high quality. I therefore held my nose, crossed my fingers, hoped for the best, and gave Steinhafels one last chance. 1. The color: Several other items, as pictured on the website, accurately show the color (as seen on the real items, in the showroom), but in this case the Turin I received was very different (more brown/reddish) than shown on the site (lighter, and slightly more orange; what's often called "butterscotch".) The site also shows the Turin CHAIR, in exactly that same color, as did my order summary for the loveseat. Moral: Don't buy any Steinhafels item based solely on the website; be sure to look at one first. (The customer service manager said that color "depends on the lighting". Well yeah, of course. But, if photos don't accurately show an item's color, a competent, honest retailer would rectify as needed before posting them.) Steinhafels substitutes its own color NAMES for those of the manufacturer. In this case, they call the Turin color that I ordered "Brandy" -- but there's no such color offered by either Natuzzi Italy or Natuzzi Editions. 2. One of the four legs was wobbly; the bracket design provides no way to tighten the leg. 3. The brand: As for this being a "Natuzzi" product: Well, hmm. When I found a "Natuzzi Editions" metal tag on the side, I researched further. NOT all Natuzzi is high quality, made in Italy. Those are produced by "Natuzzi Italy". Natuzzi EDITIONS are a completely different (and overall, less stylish) line . . . made in CHINA. Thus, Steinhafels isn't fully/honestly disclosing the manufacturer -- aware, most likely, of how many of us dislike and avoid products made in China. 4. Steinhafels even gives its own names to items. Neither Natuzzi Italy nor Natuzzi Editions offers a chair or loveseat called "Turin". There IS an exact counterpart offered by Natuzzi Editions, but with a different name. (Maybe Steinhafels believes that, if they were to use the right names, we'd conduct some research first, on the manufacturer's site -- which, in this case, would have given me a heads up that this loveseat was made in China. 5. To their credit, the company has now, quickly and easily, facilitated a quick and easy exchange, for the "Livorno" wide leather arm chair (also from "Natuzzi Edition", but clearly better quality than the Turin.) [Final update, Nov.9] To their credit, Steinhafels quickly facilitated an exchange of the defective love seat for a leather chair that is satisfactory (also made in China, by Natuzzi Editions, but it was a good buy at the Closeout price, and we wanted to be done with these people). Of course, Steinhafels didn't miss this opportunity to do more mischief. I made a point of having them deliver the replacement chair on the same visit as the pickup of the unwanted love seat. They correctly refunded the difference in price between the two pieces, but charged for delivery of the chair! Illogical and unfair, since their truck was making the trip here anyway, and the main cost of the service is the travel time and fuel. After an exhausting battle, and my promise to send this and all other Steinhafels issues to the state's Consumer Protection agency, and Better Business Bureau, they issued a refund as an "exception". On the color dispute: Management made the ridiculous claim that perception of a piece's color can be affected by the furniture around it! As for why they rename Natuzzi pieces (and, I'm guessing, other manufacturers' pieces as well) -- something that management claims other retailers do -- they made the implausible argument that they do it in order to avoid confusion with other pieces on the market. Jeez, Louise. What they call the "Turin" line is Natuzzi Edition's "Destrezza" line. There is absolutely NO ONE I could find online, other than Natuzzi, that sells a line by that name. Thus, no confusion would result if Steinhafels had just called it by its right name. And, virtually all of the MANY other retailers around the country, who sell the "Destrezza" line, not only call it by its right name, but also disclose that it's from Natuzzi EDITIONS. I know what Steinhafels accomplishes by renaming the items: (a) It prevents customers and website visitors by doing price comparisons online . . . because searching for "Turin" only yields Steinhafels results; and (b) As I said before, it makes it nearly impossible for all but the most resourceful consumers to learn that this is really the "Destrezza", and is made/sold by Natuzzi EDITIONS, and that all Natuzzi Editions are made in China. I'm the only one that sits on the recliner, and even at this, I only sit on it for 2-4 hours maximum per night. I am 180 lbs and am very neat and respectful of my property; everything needs to be in order, meaning that this chair should not be damaged as it is; there is no reason. Each night my family said, "it looks like the footrest is crooked," and every night, they would say the same, "it looks like it's getting worse." My wife called for service, but I told her that this would probably happen again and I don't need the aggravation, this is really upsetting to me. We still need to get service because this is a total embarrassment if anybody would see it. Either that, or throw it in the garbage, but what a-shame this would be, a three month old piece of Steinhafels of furniture in the garbage? This was the worst service I have EVER experienced. I ordered a $3,000 purple mattress and they delivered it with a rip. They were unable to help me get a new one and did not give me the taxes back or the delivery fee for the mattress. Sales Person Marquavis Maddox did not answer his phone after calling 10 times. Customer service has been a nightmare to deal with. They would not process the refund immediately, and gave no solutions to how I can get this specific mattress. Do not purchase the extended or pet warranty when buying furniture. it is a total waste of money. We have bought several items from Steinhafels as well as Bilt-Rite. The few times we had issues with Bilt-rite, they came out and resolved the issue within a week. We spent $800.00 on a warranty for our living room set with Steinhafels (that was purchased in 2022) and our reclining couch has been broken for two month IN FULL RECLINE and just needs a cord replacement. The first person who came up to us gave Us his card and we told him that we were looking around and would come find him if we needed him. I asked for a manager and he said he'll have one reach out to me. A week passes before the manager reached out to me. He gave me a new estimated arrival date of late October. Best he'd do was a $75 merchandise credit. October passed, third week of November I finally got word that my furniture had arrived. I scheduled the pick up for a Saturday and proceeded to the store on the pick up day. Upon arrival, the pickup line wrapped around the parking lot (its a big lot, too!). There was zero organization, and cars were cutting in front of people that had been waiting in line. I called into the store to see what the deal was with the pick ups. I have now had two terrible experiences with Steinhafels delivery. My first experience was a couple of years ago I paid for a bed frame to be delivered and assembled. When it came they put it together, however after I noticed it was super wobbly. I walked outside after and noticed screws all over the sidewalk. I realized that these were the screws for the bed frame. I called customer service that I wanted some kind of refund because I paid for it to be assembled and it was not assembled properly. They refused and said "it was delivered so there is nothing we can do" and would not let me even talk to a manager. After weeks of arguing with them they settled on a $25 gift card. Are you kidding me? They are a furniture store, what will $25 do. Today we had decided to give them another chance and purchased a new couch from them. We paid the $230 delivery fee which is insane in its own right. Anyway the couch was supposed to be delivered today. They got the couch into the elevator in my apartment building and brought it to my floor. As they are trying to get it out into the hallway they keep saying it won't fit. However they are barely even trying different angles. They just said get refund and went back down in the elevator with the couch. Again I call customer service and they said we can get refund on the couch but not the delivery fee. I argued again saying it wasn't even delivered. There is no reason I should pay the entire delivery fee I should at least get some kind of refund or if we buy different couch atleast get free delivery on that one. No they will give a credit for the couch but I will have to pay another $230 delivery fee even though the last time they barely even tried to get it out of the elevator. They said no it is company policy that they do not give any refunds on any delivery fees no matter what. Within a year the mattress stopped holding air and had to be replaced. A year into the new mattress it again will not inflate and the zippers have fallen off the mattress. Bought a new nightstand and paid an extra $40.00 for delivery. Previously when Steinhafels delivered (and, I have purchased a number of items from them), they would unpack and place the piece of furniture in its proper location. Not this time. It was delivered to my front door in a sealed box. I was able to get the delivery agent to "roll" the box into my entrance way, but that was it. No unpacking and no placement in proper position. My wife and I spent approximately 45 minutes unpacking and then lugging the night stand up a long flight of stairs. When I began to write this review I was initially surprised to see that that, overall, Steinhafels had an average of only 1.5 stars for all its reviews. I also found out that I had hernia & with both going on inside me I knew I was in trouble & needed to get help right away for myself, Brian Fisher & all the other managers really didn't care what was going on with me, all they cared about was being at the same work pace as everyone else was & keeping track of the count of how much furniture you scanned, Nobody really ever asked me if I was feeling okay or not just to check on me & the only ones that could sense something was off with me is my house manager & I went to my primary doctor & immediately they said I was lucky I didn't die because I was very very low on vitamin D & since all the managers only cared about making themselves look good to there boss John Haas. It became self employee owned & I liked the job in the beginning, but the only one who runs off the assembly workers & makes them feel uncomfortable & makes them also feel the need to go find another job is Brian Fisher, I am just being honest when I say this he is the one who ruines it all & of course no matter what since he's worked beyond 45 year's at steinhafels warehouse of course management & H.R. is going to back him up & what I don't really like is how Brian Fisher is disrespectful on the work floor & he just gets away with it, in reality name calling & targeting people on the work floor & making them uncomfortable is a form of harassment & nobody does anything to stop Brian Fisher's behavior on the work floor & so that's why I had to constantly go to H.R. on Brian Fisher because there are consequences for everyone's behavior & actions, he wanted to recommend me to a furniture company in Minnesota & I said no thanks because the way he treated me while I worked there made me feel like I was a horrible person & people asked me if I would go back there to work, never again will I work as a assembly furniture worker & I don't recommend other people to work for Brian Fisher at the warehouse in Waukesha, WI I would recommend people work for the steinhafels in Greenfield, WI because that's the reason why steinhafels warehouse in Waukesha, WI has lost alot of assembly workers ​due to Brian running them off due to how he treats them on the work floor, until Brian changes his actions, respects others, keeps his comments to himself, don't work for him, I recommend working for other steinhafels locations read more

I purchased a set of end tables from Steinhafels. They both arrived damaged. I exchanged them for 2 new end tables and one of the was damaged. I contacted customer service multiple times with no response. When I finally was able to speak with an agent, I requested an assembled delivery of a new product. Their response was they would be happy to deliver a new end table but would not wave the delivery fee. Since I originally chose customer pickup that is my only option. Since this would be my third trip to the store and third time assembling the tables, I decided it best to return them. I am responsible to pay the restocking fee of the non damaged table even though they are a set. My experience taught me Steinhafels has sub par customer service. They will protect themselves. First time purchasing from Steinhafels & will be the last. We purchased a recliner sofa and 3 weeks later it was sagging a lot on one side. It also had staples sticking out of one side & was wobbly on that side also. They sent out a repair guy & he stuffed the one side with foam. He also hammered the side. Now it's sagging on both sides & lumpy & uncomfortable on the side where they stuffed it with foam. It would be nice if they would take it back at least for credit in the store! Nope, they just want to keep stuffing it with foam! It's an expensive piece of junk that we've had for only a month! They don't deserve even one star! Don't buy from here! Go to Colders! read more

I will never shop at Steinhafels again. We ordered a special order couch back in May of 2021. It took 6 months for them to manufacture, which is not the why I rated them so low. They were up front and honest with the wait time. The issue I have with them is after the Couch was delivered. After the first day we had the couch we noticed that the quality was awful. Their were major gaps in between the cushions of the couch, the cushions wiggled, and the overall quality was not what we paid for. We were able to get someone to come out to take a look a week later. After he looked at it, he said he would contact us the week after with a game plan. It took 4 weeks along with multiple calls into customer service for someone to give us a call back. I asked to speak to a manager, and that manager has yet to get in touch with me after leaving multiple messages for her. They have now taken our couch to get it repaired 2 months after delivery, and we have still yet to receive and update from anyone. I really wish we can just return this couch and go to a competitor, but unfortunately here are no returns for any special order items. This experience is awful, and would not recommend them. 01/20 - Received a call from Steinhafels on Monday, Jan 17th letting us know that our couch was ready for redelivery, and scheduled it for 01/20 delivery. He told us we would get a call with a delivery timeslot, and we never received that call. Now I'm on the phone with customer service saying they did not have it scheduled for today. And now they tell me they aren't even sure the couch is fixed due to discrepancies on their end. And the Manager has yet to call me back after leaving 2 VM's for her. If I could give negative stars for customer service I would. 01/27 - It has been 7 days without a call from a single person from Steinhafels. I called and asked for a manager yet again, and yet again had to explain my entire situation with a different person who said they have a manager call me back. 01/31 - Talked with a Scott on 01/27, and even though I was assured a manager was going to call me, I am yet to hear from anyone. Steinhafels will treat you like a paycheck, and that's it. I ordered almost $6,000 of furniture from them in one day and just recently received my first delivery. Upon receipt of that delivery, it was found that they had damaged the dresser that was being delivered to me. I purchased this piece "as is", but that's where their understanding stops. I took over 20 pictures beforehand to confirm the condition of the dresser, and was able to prove that they caused the damage during packaging and shipping, yet they still will not offer to repair the product. I was told this is because they are already selling this at a cheaper price. Ok...but what about the other $5K I spent on new furniture and how about treating me like a customer rather than a line on an invoice? They also still have not resolved the situation. I'll attach the photos for you (the customer) to do your own investigation. We want the dresser repaired and I continue to ask them to do so. You would think a furniture store would have someone on site at their warehouse that does this full-time and that it would be more cost-prohibitive to spend the labor to bring it out of the warehouse, ship it back to a store, have it take up floor space, and sit there for who knows how long? I have been more than kind in my communication for a resolution that works well for both parties. I've asked to talk to management above the store level and no one will talk to me. I've already had the other part of my order get pushed out half a month and it hasn't even been a week. I'm seriously disappointed I gave this company my money. I've got many more rooms in my new house to complete and I will not be coming back. Recommend you don't either. read more

I purchased a Stearns & Foster Cassatt Lux Plush mattress in December 2022, Madison East store. In April my shoulder/blades, neck were painful. Beginning of May the pain was unbearable. Switched back to my old mattress, and went to Steinhafels. Talked to the manager, he told me I was sold the WRONG mattress for a back sleeper!! And, there's NOTHING I can do for you as you're past your 120 days!!!!! WHERE is their CUSTOMER CARE....NOT There!!! And yes I spent $110 for their Dri Tech Mattress Protector!!!
