The bar tender, Noah, was impressive and friendly in that he knew his liquor stock very well, and could explain the flavor intricacies of the various types of bourbon, vodka, and gins. They also offer some non,-alcoholic beverages for the "designated driver" of the group too. We watched Noah make everything from regular and "dirty martinis" with fresh ingredients, as well as one drink where he used a butane lighter and some tiny cedar chips in a straining tool above the drink to give it a fresh, authentic smoky look and flavor. Noah knows his stuff!!!!! The patrons were friendly, diverse, and easy to socialize with if you chose to do so. The establishment is pet friendly for "socialized pets" with a water bowl outside the establishment and some free Milkbone treats inside. Keep in mind that this establishment is a "tasting room" with the majority of products from the New Scotland Distillery, but there are other options. Just don't expect to get a Bud Light Draft or food here. The only downside is that parking in the Lark Steet and State Street location is difficult to obtain without some effort, but we managed to park our vehicles 2 blocks away. This is not a direct criticism of the establishment because the experience is well worth this minor potential inconvenience. We would definitely go back there again, especially for the specialty drinks or the flights and half flights of their bourbon and vodka products. Katrina and Gary go out and beyond to make you feel welcomed and comfortable at their farm. They give great tours and provide an enormous amount of interesting information. The treks are a lot of fun and you really get to see the llama's personality's shine during the one on one time. The babies are adorable and will warm your heart. I highly recommend the seasonal llama yoga. A baby llama might just come up and smell your feet while you are in a pose. Wish I could give Dakota Ridge Farms 10 Stars.

It's free to get in and fun to try samples of high quality food. They had some different vendors here this year and some repeats. Some of my favs were: tierra farm store (coconut curry cashews) Also a woman who makes crepes that are to die for (forget her name) and zen butters (a nut butter company) not to mention Browns was there with their beer as was Chatham brewery. A lot of parking and sitting areas. I have been wanting to get there to try fresh dumplings from a family owned company called two little dumplings. There were a good amount of vendors and food options. We walked around all the vendors before finally finding the one we went for. It had the longest line of people and the wait was so worth it. We split that days special of chicken and Thai basil dumplings. They packed a lot of flavor in every bite - zesty (lime), spicy (ginger, garlic, black pepper), herby (Thai basil), and umami (fish sauce)! There was peanut sauce with hot chili oil, scallions and friend onions. Loved the dumplings but would go with the tradition sauce next time. There were a lot of other great vendors and we ended up also getting spicy rosemary nuts that were so good. Glad we took the drive and will definitely be back for other goodies. They also sell take home frozen dumplings that they post in their facebook page weekly.
