Charging over $20 for a game for one person is absolutely ridiculous but then to walk in there and see just how rundown everything is including rips on every seat you try and sit on the place is just so rundown and it's obvious that they have not put in any money into this place since the early 80s. I haven't been bowling in 15 years and my kids have never been. This was a really fun day! It was convenient to book a lane online and pay ahead. The parking is plentiful and the staff we dealt were friendly. Going with kids was super easy. We got some really lightweight balls, they can set up bumpers when you check in and they have kid rollers (name of it?!) that help little ones roll the ball. We didn't get any food or drinks so I can't speak to that but we will definitely return, possibly for a birthday party! read more

I used to bowl for fun a lot when I was in middle and high school, and as an adult I really enjoy coming to this bowling alley just to watch my friends bowl, order some food, and cheer everyone on. The food is pretty good quality, and the friday evening bowling is fun. We haven't had any issues with the bowling itself, and the staff is very polite. The only reason I'm not giving this place five stars is because I use a mobility aid right now (a wheeled walker) and the only accessible bathroom stall has been consistently broken. The last time I went there was a hole in the wall, and it didn't seem like it was getting fixed anytime soon. We ended up having to head home early just so I could use the restrooms because I wasn't able to maneuver in the restrooms with my walker safely. Came here on a Saturday evening with two other friends. It took us a good 30 minutes to pay for a lane as the group before us (about 10-15 of them) took forever to decide what they wanted and how they wanted to split the group, pay, etc. Wished they would have let us ahead as we took under a minute to pay and get on our merry way. The rates were $35/hr and shoe rental was $5. The business itself is doing a pretty decent job at having everyone social distance during this pandemic. Unless you're together as a group, there will usually be a lane in between that will be closed. There are clear plastic screens set up as dividers to facilitate further separation between groups. Food order is required if you want to order alcoholic drinks. They were understaffed as they were running all over the place. It took us some time to get some bowling balls and later on utensils for the food we ordered. Besides that, the staff members were pretty friendly. read more

The staff here is very nice! I took my 6 year old niece to Del Lanes for her first bowling trip and she had a blast. There was no wait on a Tuesday afternoon and we promptly were given shoes and a lane to use. We also ordered cheese pizza which was thin crust and delicious. Cost for one game is about $4 per person (kids are cheaper, adults are a tad bit more). Shoe rentals are $3.50 per person. A cheese pizza is $12. Add it up, it's an inexpensive afternoon of fun. read more

I took the kid here after school with some of his friends. Not only do they put the bumpers in the gutters, but they have the "ball slides" for those kids (young master Daniel B.) who are too frail to push a six pound ball all the way down the lane. Betcha didn't even know that was possible.... for a bowling ball to come to a stop in the middle of the lane. Two games and shoes came to $5 for each kid. And two games for four year olds is a serious time commitment. It's not a fancy place. And it's well worn, like an old bowling shirt. But I think it's as clean as it can get. read more

My League average was going nowhere, so I took two $45 lessons with Pro bowler Brian LeClair, who works here at Del Lanes. My average has now climbed by 20 pins and is still rising. I've rolled eleven 200(+) games in the past 8 months. And I just set a new "personal best" high score. All this would've been impossible to me before taking lessons with Brian. Del Lanes has a true ace up its sleeve. That ace is dollar bowling, previously a Tuesday promotion where shoes and a lane costs just $1 for each person in your party, and each game costs just $1 each after that. To get out of the house and have a nice social evening in a place where you might run into other friends in the neighborhood because they didn't have anywhere better to go either, all for $4... it's just divine, really. The only difference is now it's Tuesdays, Wednesdays, AND Thursdays. Yes, it's a flawless system, especially since the bowling is pretty kink-free. There are enough balls to get the right weight and holes for your fingers. And the kiddie balls are always available, just for poops and giggles. (Ask nice, they just might even put the bumpers down for you!) The lanes all use those DOS-based scoring computers which have been around as long as I can remember and will probably be around until the day I drop dead (especially here). The snacks are standard deep fried fare, but the snack bar is in a state of semi-regular neglect. The bar's much more dependable. If you don't have a drinking habit, this might not be a bad place to start. They try to keep the social vibe open with some background music. It may occasionally hop genres, but fear not, it never breaks its central theme: utter eardrum-raping shit. But never mind the music, get in there on a night during that three-day sweet spot and bowl to your heart's content! read more

I have to agree with the first reviewer. Dollar bowling is awesome. For shoes and two games, we each paid $3 the other night. Nothing is that cheap anymore! Even with the pitcher of beer for everyone else and the white russian (the dude abides!) for me, it was still a much cheaper night out than I've had in awhile. They even offer party packages for adults, which intrigues me to no end. You can choose from several different levels of buffets with a list of items you can choose from. For some reason, I found the list kind of comical. Imagine having a buffet bowling party and choosing "rice casserole" and "cheese and crackers"! On Fridays, they have rock n' bowl for the teen set. This is a neighborhood favorite. Nothing has changed here since I was in middle school. As a parent, I love that they participate in Kids Bowl Free for the summer. We have fun and it saves me $$. They have the "dino helper" and put the bumpers up for the kids as well. Food isn't bad and the people are friendly.Could use some updating, but it's a nice neighborhood joint to have some fun. read more

To be honest, I would give them 0 stars if possible. I have no idea how they have a good rating. This place is dirty and very unprofessional. A group of four of my friends and I went over an hour before they closed, only wanted to play one game. However we were ignored for over 10 minutes; for the record we were noticed, but we were ignored. Finally when we got help we heard the "manager" say to another worker-not us directly- to charge us 8 dollars extra. Obviously we left. The previous time I have gone (and the only time) we did get in eventually at that time. That experience was subpar at best, and the fries are extremely dry and should be considered a choking hazard in and of itself. Do yourself a BIG favor and never go. Thank you. read more

My sorority sisters and fraternity brothers reserved some lanes and since the first interaction I had on the phone with the staff at Del Lanes they were thorough and helpful. Negative experience here. The woman at the front desk today was extremely unpleasant to us when we got there, we stood there for a full 2 minutes before she even acknowledged that we were there. While we were there trying to check in to bowl she answered the phone and was super rude to whoever she was on the phone with (a customer). There were leagues going on and a man making announcements every few minutes over a microphone that were so loud and with so much feedback that we and other bowlers were covering our ears. The dining room is large with a bar and every NFL game on Sunday, while the Lanes are high in quantity and offer endless nachos if you play 2 or more games! The dining area offers the best bowling alley pizza you can find, and also some fancy favorites! Different Italian pasta dishes, as well as seafood. On a number of occasions the specials have included Lobster Mac and Cheese, cuts of steak, and even a crab stuffed salmon and haddock with a cheddar sauce. Really unexpected and quality foods to enjoy before, after or during your drunken bowling with the boys! That's not even the best part though... the prices. Soooo affordable, everything is super cheap and you leave full and so does your wallet! The steak I was referring to earlier was 10 oz and only $5.99 (not including sides). Wow! I hit this bowling alley recently when our usual old stand-by was closed. I was pleased to find that it was everything I was looking for in a bowling alley - nice bar, decent beer prices, a ball return that doesn't eat your bowling ball, and we never had to have the maintenance guy fix our lane (this bugs me to no end when it keeps happening all night long). If I could give zero, I would. Our group spent about $200 between rock and bowl and drinks. The bathrooms smelled, the bar ran out of Jameson, and for me the deal breaker was this: one person in our group was having an excellent game on the last one we were allowed, we had a 15 minute warning to finish - after that the 4 people were not able to finish in time. When I went up to the counter to ask if I could finish just two frames (2 possible 3 balls) I was denied. Even after asking to pay for an extra hour (we had prepaid for 2), I was told no. Our group was respectful of everyone and all the rules - I only mention this because the group next to us was disrespectful and rolling two balls down the alley at once and often getting one stuck in the gutter which required attention. I did not have the food, but saw food brought in for an employee in the kitchen from an outside restaurant. For me that does not bode well. I have bowled here since I was a kid, but will never be returning. I would like to mention the bartender was great, as I do appreciate good service. read more

As an avid bowler, I'm always on the lookout for good lanes at a fair price, and Del Lanes offers both and then some. The lanes are very well maintained, although sometimes it feels like the oil patterns are not consistent every night. The beer is good and cheap and the dollar slices of pizza always hit the spot. Also the chicken fingers are awesome (so good that last time I couldn't wait to eat them and ended up burning my mouth). The bar has recently been upgraded and turned into Marvelous Marv's (named after the owner, Marv, who you'll see walking around chatting it up and making sure the place is spic and span!). They have tons of TVs, OTB, and a sweet video screen hanging over the lanes where they play awesome music videos from all eras. They also recently upgraded their computer sscoring system, and there's rarely any glitches or problems. One annoying thing about Del Lanes is sometimes on dollar nights they insist on making you wear a wristband if you want to drink, and they only give small juice glasses when you order a pitcher of beer. I called Del lanes a few days ago to find out when open bowling was on Monday night. And I was told after 9pm because there was league bowling before hand. So I planned a get together with friends from the surrounding area. I had people from Coxsackie, Latham, Troy and Clifton Park coming. After we all get there and try to get a lane we are told there are only 4 lanes open for open bowling. There is another league going on at 9pm. Had I know this I wouldn't of chosen this place for a get together. So, there was already people on the four lanes and we would be next. But, alas, some new people came in after us and they got the next available lane and we were forgotten. We will not be returning. What a giant waste of time. The system for waiting is not right. There should be a ticket system or something. The counter girl forgot all about us. Overall, horrible experience. read more
