An accessible toilet stall, with a sign saying out of order. There is a hole in the wall where some plumbing is missing.

I used to bowl for fun a lot when I was in middle and high school, and as an adult I really enjoy coming to this bowling alley just to watch my friends bowl, order some food, and cheer everyone on. The food is pretty good quality, and the friday evening bowling is fun. We haven't had any issues with the bowling itself, and the staff is very polite. The only reason I'm not giving this place five stars is because I use a mobility aid right now (a wheeled walker) and the only accessible bathroom stall has been consistently broken. The last time I went there was a hole in the wall, and it didn't seem like it was getting fixed anytime soon. We ended up having to head home early just so I could use the restrooms because I wasn't able to maneuver in the restrooms with my walker safely. I really do like this place, but it definitely affects whether or not I decide to go.

I took the kid here after school with some of his friends. Not only do they put the bumpers in the gutters, but they have the "ball slides" for those kids (young master Daniel B.) who are too frail to push a six pound ball all the way down the lane. Betcha didn't even know that was possible.... for a bowling ball to come to a stop in the middle of the lane. Two games and shoes came to $5 for each kid. And two games for four year olds is a serious time commitment. It's not a fancy place. And it's well worn, like an old bowling shirt. But I think it's as clean as it can get.

A new personal "best," thanks to Brian at Del Lanes. (Sorry, the pic wasn't taken there!)

My League average was going nowhere, so I took two $45 lessons with Pro bowler Brian LeClair, who works here at Del Lanes. My average has now climbed by 20 pins and is still rising. I've rolled eleven 200(+) games in the past 8 months. And I just set a new "personal best" high score. All this would've been impossible to me before taking lessons with Brian. Recommended!

$5.99 in the dining area on fri-Sun!

You'd think for a Delmar/ Bethlehem establishment, it'd be decent but you guessed wrong. The girl in the front's attitude is trash as well

Decent food, good for a bowling alley. Great bowling deals especially on school breaks. Clean. Friendly staff. We keep coming back.

Would've gave it 5 stars but the guy at the front desk with the big mustache was a rude asshole.

And the kids did have a good time and enjoyed bowling. Best part was that it was less than half of what I would have spent at a trampoline park.

That means the things I look for in a bowling alley are pretty different. Town-N-Country Lanes has all the kids staples: - Alley bumpers to prevent frustrating gutter balls - Ramps so that balls make it all the way to the pins - Plenty of six pound balls that can be held by tiny arms - Velcro shoes in the smaller sizes - Pizza that isn't entirely awful The lanes are in fine shape for casual play. I do long for the old fashioned manual scoring, that was good for teaching kids math. But the electronic scoreboards make a game of bowling hassle free. And that's important because getting five small children to complete a single game of bowling can be a herculean effort in and of itself. That's where the bar comes in. Unfortunately, I didn't get to put that or the snack bar to the full test. There were plenty of cheap deep fried treats available. One day I may have to try those out at a Saturday night Rock 'N Bowl. That weekly event sounds like a great deal: $10 unlimited bowling (including shoes) from 10pm until 1am. It says they take music requests. I wonder if they'd play some Creedence.

One thing to know going in is that their open lane hours can be a bit particular, so it's definitely worth checking ahead before you go. It seems like they cater a lot to league play, which makes sense given the community feel. I see people online complain about their lack of availability and if you do a quick search or look at their signage, you can see they have very limited open lane hours. The space itself is surprisingly roomy, with plenty of seating, and I appreciated that people actually respect the rules. No food or outside shoes in the bowling area, and everyone seemed to follow that without issue. Open bowling prices are very cheap. Just be aware it's cash or check only, though there is an ATM on site. Again, just check the hours because as of this review they are only open for a few hours one day a week. One of my favorite little touches is that they print out your games at the end. It's simple, but it adds to that nostalgic feel. Overall, it's not a flashy place, but that's kind of the point. If I lived closer, I'd probably come here regularly just to practice. It's a solid, affordable, old-school bowling spot.

The building itself is impressive, although maybe not quite as impressive as the castle-looking building next door. Our party of seven settled in at the bar as there otherwise did not seem to be a large enough table for all of us to gather around in either the main lounge area or a small room off to the side. The dark wood paneled walls, large fireplace, assortment of easy chairs, couches, and high desktop table gave off a feeling of warmth and welcoming. The friendly bartender introduced herself (sorry I've forgotten her name) and informed us that spirit-wise, the bar was capable of preparing the standard, traditional drinks like Manhattans, martinis, etc. All beers were poured from cans, and at my request, she recited the names of about six that were available. I don't believe anyone in our party inquired about the wines that were available. The building simply calls out for an explanation of its history. Upon our request, the bartender offered to provide either the "brief" or "full" option. We requested the full history. She was obviously well up to the task. You would be amazed at the variety of things you could learn here. Just to touch on a few key topics that were mentioned, consider Alexander Hamilton's wife, puffed rice, Bab-o cleanser (cue up the jingle), Bishop Gibbons, and an orthopedic surgeon. I don't know what the normal food arrangements are in the Lounge. I'm guessing that our out-of-town hosts requested some snacks for us as a few bowls appeared with mixed nuts, crackers and cheese, fresh grapes, humus, and warm pretzel/croissant rolls, and a plate of prosciutto wrapped cream cheese. Overall, the atmosphere here is simply friendly and inviting. I think it will become an occasional gathering place for our local friends when looking for a place that is quiet and relaxing.
