Took my silk dress to the Stella's to shorten it and what a mistake that was. Just picked it up and the stitching is off and crooked. It has many tiny holes along the bottom of the dress where the stitching is. I paid $42 and my dress is ruined and needs to be fixed. I am filling a claim with my card and thinking of filing a small claims suit for the reimbursement of my $600 dress. read more

If there was an option to give 100 stars she would easily deserve that! Stella is not only professional and an expert at what she does but she is honest and works quick! My wedding is later this month and my mother found the perfect red dress but although we bought it in her size it appears it was 2 sizes too small with a zipper that gave us great difficulty. We came all the way from Orlando because we heard she is the best. She lived up to her reputation because not only did she make my mother's dress a perfect fit, she did it within 2 weeks and it looked as the dress was made that way. While I was there with my mother another person came in for her dress fitting and she screamed because Stella's work was so amazing! During the most stressful time of wedding planning "crunch time" she calmed me and assured that she can help me. Fast forward a few weeks...My future sister in law is top heavy and she went to 2 other tailors in Tampa to get some support with her dress. Both places told her they can't help her as it's the way the dress was made and even made comments on her body type. I called Stella and she gave us an appointment the vey next day and assured us she will do her best. Those tailors made my future sister in law cry and with one phone call to Stella she felt better. Please try her out because if you don't your doing yourself a disservice. She's experienced, humble, and even the bridal boutique I bought my dress from senda all of their brides there. Stella was very rude. She asked me several times if I was going to call later and cancel my dress alteration. She then accused me of not looking straight ahead while she was pinning the dress because the length came out wrong. When I decided to just take my business elsewhere, she ripped the pins out of my dress without caring if they damaged the material. I told her she was not being very friendly and she agreed with me. read more

I found the absolute perfect wedding dress used & Stella altered it by taking it down a size. I was nervous because it had full length beading, lace and sequins and if it didn't turn out well I wouldn't have had the time to find an alternate dress. I would give zero stars if I could. I called earlier this week to ask if I needed a reservation to get a dress altered. Nope, just come on in. I said I would be in on Friday afternoon. Okay no problem. I show up Fri afternoon and am asked if I have an appointment. Obviously I don't, because I was told I didn't need one. Then I'm informed that Stella is on vacation this week. When I told the woman at the counter that I'd called to specifically ask she didn't care. No apologies...just okay and she went back to her work. Very poor experience. Looks like Stella needs someone else to manage her shop when she's on vacation. read more

I took in two pair of men's suit slacks to be hemmed as I just moved to Tampa and had to leave for a business trip 4 days later. 4 days later, I paid $30 (incl. tax) to have the pants hemmed (no cuffs) and packed them without looking. When I got to my destination for business, I was mortified. The lines and stitching in the hem was so awful and so obvious if I would have packed another suit, I would have worn it; it almost looked snagged. I had to take them to my regular tailor in Chicago where I live full-time to have both pair fixed, so it ended up costing my $60 to have my slacks hemmed. The woman is very nice but the work, at least for my slacks, was terrible. I wish I could post the photo I took to show you. When I am back in St. Pete and need alterations, I will try another place. Maybe great for bridal but for men's attire, I'd go elsewhere. read more

Stella is the best! The business is set up nicely. Three changing areas and a nice big area with mirrors for sizing. She is a very nice woman who knows exactly what is needed to make you feel comfortable in your clothing. Pickup was on time. Fitting was easy and smooth. She was able to balance multiple people at once with payment, phone calls, etc. without losing sight of a great customer service experience. Really would recommend this place to anyone. read more

This is the only place i will go and get anything altered! I bought a dress and the arm holes were a little to tight and I brought it in there and they took it out really quickly and it is very price effective! I was very impressed then but I was in there Thursday and had to get a bathing suit taken out and wanted to add elastic to the sides! And I needed it done by Sunday which is my birthday! Knowing this was last minute she told me she would do her best! I got a call noon the next day that it was ready!! They are the best place to go if you need anything alter!! She was able to fix the incredibly botched job that Kathleen's afflicted on my wedding dress! I came to her a bit stressed out, because the other woman ruined my dress a week and a half before my wedding. Stella (?) assured me it would be ready in three days, and it was! The fit was beautiful, and I felt fantastic on my wedding day. She also turned a really unflattering dress into an adorable skirt for me! I will take all of my clothes this to her in the future! Absolutely amazing. I brought in a wedding dress that I needed altered. It had a lace bodice that needed to be let out near the waist only, and since I'm 5'2" the skirt needed to be brought up at the waist since the bottom of the dress was laced. It was THE dress and even though it didn't quite fit when I bought it; I knew someone out there could MAKE it fit. I drove by Stella's all the time and looked her up on the net for reviews and everyone said the same thing. She's great. AND SHE IS. My dress turned out perfect. I brought the dress to her 3 weeks before the wedding and she had it done in plenty of time. I can't thank her enough. She does wedding dresses, jeans, anything you have she can alter. I am so happy with my wedding dress. I'm wearing my mom's dress and was nervous leaving it with a stranger. Then I met Stella and I immediately trusted her. The dress needed major design changes and I wasn't sure which direction to go with it. Stella had great ideas and implemented them perfectly. My wife and I were recommended to bring our newly purchased suit and dress to Stella but being that we lived over 30 minutes away, we initially opted to use a more local tailor. What a mistake. We were told by another tailor that my wife's dress was able to be altered only in a way that would leave an unsightly bulge of fabric in the midsection. When questioned, the initial seamstress stated that my wife should try not to be photographed sideways at the wedding. After having our garments pined by the initial seamstress, we decided we were not comfortable and took our garments to Stella's. We could not have been happier that we made that decision. As soon as Stella saw the way in which the dress and jacket were pinned she let us know that they would not have turned out nicely. Stella was able to alter the dress in such a way that there was no excess fabric in the front and it layed perfectly. As for my suit, Stella's alterations were very professional and made the suit look several times its value. She knew exactly how the suit should lay and what needed to be done. Even though it will be a distance to travel, we have found our tailor for life! read more
