If you're not already familiar with Chagrin Valley Soap & Salve, this is a wonderful little shop to come explore and get introduced to them. Chagrin Valley Soap & Salve is a local company (based in Solon) that uses pure essential oils, organic botanicals, and sustainable plant oils and butters to make the most awesome men and women's skin and haircare products. From natural deodorants to facial soaps and shampoos, I love everything they make. They also have, what seems like, dozens of flavors of everything (see my photo of the soap wall!). My favorite soap flavors are Chocolate + Honey, Sea Salt, Dead Sea Black Clay, and Honey Butter. It even seems like they have double the flavors in this store than they do on their online website. Score! Some other things I really loved about this shop: + They carry baby products and have a collaboration with Cherub's Blanket, another local retailer that makes the sweetest organic cotton baby products like blankets/bibs, etc. Or, if your dog is your baby (like me), CVSS also has dog products, which is great if your dog has sensitive skin. + Small travel/trial sizes. A nice option if you want to try products for the first time or pack something in your suitcase. + Gifts! OMG, they have the cutest pre-made gift boxes, satchels, and samplers in all sizes and price ranges, including thematic ones like "Coffee + Chocolate Lovers" and "Lavender Lovers." I'm so glad I know this here now...because it will be my new go-to gift. The shop is impeccably organized. No one will rush you if you take your time to look around and smell absolutely everything (which I recommend). It is also one of the only shops in 5th Street that is open a *little* later than the others. Woot woot! Go support local.

The smells are amazing and the motif inside is relaxing and modern. I met the owner (Melissa) and enjoyed viewing and smelling all of her small batch natural products. I could not resist the aroma of my favorite eucalyptus and purchased a small sample of an all natural soap bar, lavender & mint refreshing body spray and a raw amethyst stone, which is my birthstone. You can subscribe online to learn more about the shop and what products Melissa offers. Soap making classes are also available for sign up on the website, which look like an educational and fun experience. It's also mentioned there are small party capabilities. Melissa is so kind, helpful and communicative! This was the easiest experience I have ever had planning a private event. We had about 15 guests making personal perfumes on a weeknight. The entire process lasts about an hour, and when everyone arrived the room was all set-up and ready to roll with pre-curated materials. Swoon! The space itself is super cool. Yates is located inside the Screw Factory building (which I don't believe is fully ADA, so please keep that in mind and call ahead if you need accommodations). Melissa's space has a rustic, witchy vibe with a giant Buddha, gorgeous crystals and dried flowers throughout. She also sells beautiful jewelry, crystals and other essential oil blends. My friends and I had so much fun creating our custom perfumes and Melissa was very helpful. Not only can you have private events here, but you can attend their public events or stop by to shop for delightful, cruelty-free, all-natural perfumes. She walked us through the three bases of scents and instructed us on the best quantity for each. She had a wide variety of scents from Lemon, to Lily of the Valley, to Black Currant and Tomato. I threw together a few (wow, I will never be able to re-create it! Ha!) and came up with the perfect scent. And to top it off, she had a great selection of tapes to decorate our bottles with. Yates allowed us to book as a private group. There were 13 of us and it costed $25 for each person. On their website now, it looks like most workshops cost around $35 or $40. The experience alone of making something with your friends is priceless! Yates also had a handful of earrings, necklaces, and other fine trinkets and gifts. Now, get over there!!

I needed a couple items and remembered they were open due to a social media post I saw a long time ago. I was greeted immediately and they were playing some 90s and 2000s RnB. I was presently surprised by how big and clean the store was. It was a little overwhelming at first as there are so many aisles. I decided to wander around and see what I could see. This location has a salon in the back. There was so many items to choose from and I noticed prices were clearly marked. The young man who checked me out was very kind and congenial. He asked if I was part of their loyalty program and I told him it was my first time. He gave a big smile and said welcome in. Did you find everything you needed and also how did you hear about us? I added myself to the loyalty program and plan to return really soon.

I've been to the Legacy Village multiple times. I prefer this salon over my regular hair salon or other places due to efficient service and reasonable prices. AMBIANCE: Modern, light and airy aesthetic - white and yellow accents. The salon has a small lobby with a few chairs and salon in the same open space. All salon chairs face mirrors (front and back). Hair washing area is available in the back. The salon always remains pristine and pleasant. Yellow accents immediately elevate your mood even on gloomy and snowy days. While your service is in progress, you can watch TV's with closed captions. That's how I learned that Dry Bar provides styling for the Bachelor TV show. The salon has their own line of products. You can find shampoos, hairsprays, and other styling potions. There are also styling tools on brand - yellow! They don't push product which is lovely. SERVICES: The salon only offers hair services - blowouts ($59), updos ($99), dry styling ($35), and add-on hair treatments. If you want to make it a lifestyle, they offer barfly memberships. They are 45-$90 per month with few blowouts and perks included. The value is much better than at full hair salons or when hiring a hair artist. I always get dry style (no hair washing, just styling). It's a steal for $35. Blowouts honestly take too long to complete and don't provide a world of a difference compared to dry style. Essentially, I find the two very similar. You will be able to select various styles during your visit. You'll flip through the Lookbook to select styles (pictures examples are included on its pages). I usually go for the Old Fashioned. It provides gorgeous classic curls and holds the best. The salon uses their own product line for styling, which provides amazing hold. You can also add-on services like scalp treatments, seasonally Chloe wine bow for the holidays, and a braid to your style. If you have extensions, your service may take longer time. You'll immediately know when booking. SERVICE: The initial booking is extremely easy. Just go online, find date/time, add credit card, and book. Payment is collected onsite after the service. Every phone call about services is expeditiously answered. There are always many available booking slots day or night. Front desk staff is usually extremely friendly. They really want to ensure that your experience is smooth. They even offer complimentary drinks like water, tea, or coffee. Beyond the front desk, service is very subpar. It's quick, reasonably friendly, but not relationship-based. The salon had a lot of turnover over the years, and I don't recognize anyone during every visit. Stylists no longer ask about your occasion, involve you in the creative process, or really ask you anything personal. Lately I genuinely feel like a transaction than a client. Small talk and genuine conversation would probably make me come in more frequently than for special occasions. Another criticism I have is that styles never turn out the same from visit to visit. Every stylist does their own thing. I usually opt in for the Old Fashioned style since it's hard to deviate from. I'd love to play with other styles but they never match the photo and vary greatly. I have to say that my hair always holds for extended period of time which is a huge plus. You get sprayed with a lot of hairspray but the hair looks phenomenal. CANCELLATION POLICY: The policies here are a little over the top. For instance, I booked on the day there was a snow storm. I would have cancelled but received multiple messages from the salon about cancellation being in effect. It literally stated that there is a snow storm, and clients should plan to arrive early. Ten minute grace period still applied. That's not at all client centric. This feels like most impersonal part of the experience. At some point, caring about the clients is vital to the client experience. PARKING: Parking is available around Legacy Village - limited streets parking, and parking lots all over the shopping area. This dry bar is a great destination if you're looking for a quick service for an occasion. You'll get high quality style, save a little, be in and out. If you're looking for relationship-oriented service and preciseness, this is not the place for you. I'll be back on occasion for events, but actively looking for plan B due to transactional nature. I want to be excited about my service, socialize, and have fun during my service, I haven't found it here lately.

I immediately said I'm going to a wedding out of town. That is why I was coming in. The person on the phone then said oh boy OK just come in. I went in at 11:00 and at 11:25 AM they tell me they will not be able to accommodate me unless I want a dry style, which also was not going to be immediately, and I was flying out in two and a half hours. I have been a barfly for quite a while. I have had several issues between not getting the stylist I asked for and the quality of the blow dry' was less than expertise. 100% not what you pay for, was very unfair with not a care. I will never be back and I will be be sure to share what to expect when visiting this particular Drybar. Very unfortunate.
