Thank God Morrison Associates purchased new equipment to scan the pupils, so there will be no more pupil dilation. I didn't escape the good ole eye puff test. Nevertheless, I appreciate this screening test because it detects glaucoma, which runs in my family. I didn't need a new eye prescription, but I think I will return to see the opticians and get a new pair of progressive eyeglasses and prescription sunglasses.

I am so happy that I did! The doctor was great- gave me suggestions for my issues. And the opticians have been wonderful! Kudos to Sarah at the Palmyra office! She is the best at choosing the right frame. I would try numerous frames to the point that my nose would be sore. I finally said "help!" She looked at me & the prescription, asked if I liked metal or plastic, then she chose the perfect frames for me. She took the measurements too to make sure that they fit correctly. At Premier, I had Dr J.E.B. and found him to be patient and sincere when addressing my eye care. One thing I found interesting is the steps of the process (checking in, determining current vision measures, seeing the optometrist, etc) are all done separately. In this way, things move along, but I can see when one area could be backed up. However, I have not yet experienced this to occur. I have found the staff to be professionals and positive. Additionally, at the Hartzdale Dr location, there is ample parking with easy access to the front door.

We took a trip to Rehoboth Beach on a Friday and, being unfamiliar with the ocean, I went in with my glasses and lost them when a wave crashed into me. I have an especially strong prescription (-6.25 & -6.5), so not having vision correction for an extended time isn't a viable option for me. I called a few places on Saturday when we were home again, but they either had a two week turnaround time to make a new pair of glasses (not an option, as I'd be out of the state at that point) or didn't have lenses in my prescription in stock for a more quickly made pair. When I phoned ModernEyes, Emily answered my call and was immediately sympathetic, friendly, and very helpful. She was able to find lenses in my prescription, and when I went to ModernEyes to pick out a pair of frames to go with them, she was incredibly helpful in choosing styles that suited me and advising me on which pair would best suit my time constraints, budget, and personal style. (I feel like it's the first time my tastes have aligned so well with someone helping me pick out frames!) They were able to cut the lenses to fit the frames in house, and in about 30 minutes, my new glasses were ready. She helped me fit the frames comfortably to my face and assured me I could get them adjusted if they ended up feeling too tight or if the lenses were disorienting in any way. I can't adequately express my gratitude for her patience, warmth, and attentiveness. Something that I thought might derail my entire vacation ended up being resolved quicker than I could imagine. I have keratoconus and can only see with scleral contact lenses that cover most of the eye. After…read morean assessment by a ver nice and pleasant optometrist, the lenses were ordered. When they arrived II was told it would be better to pick them up rather than shipping them directly to me. I was directed to make an appointment. When I arrived I waited.in the que to be checked in. Once I arrived at the check in window I was informed I just needed to go knock on the door of the optical store. Hmmm. An impolite individual responded to my knocks. When I explained to her I was there for an appointment. She disappeared back into the shop and returned moments later with a small paper bag with my lenses in it. There was no opportunity to evaluate the lenses. The appointment was unnecessary. Once at my car I discovered the wrong lenses were ordered. These lenses use a plunger to insert them into the I had requested tinted lenses because clear lenses are near impossible to see when roving them from the cleaning solution. I returned to the optical shop to have the correct lenses ordered. The same individual responded to my knock and once I requested the tinted lenses she informed they didn't come tinted. Despite her insistence I explained the lenses I was currently wearing were tinted. To summarize I was instructed to make an appoinent that 1. was completely unnecessary, 2. wasted an hour of time, 3. Wasted gas since I drove 20 miles 4. to be disrespected and lied to. I did find out that they could have been drop shipped. If I wanted Ms. Congeneality to send them it would cost $12 Most of the folks in that department are great. However they need to re-engineer their process for pick up. And offer some civility training to their person in the optical shop.

I was born with cataracts and spent most of my life with glaucoma. Every doctor who has come and gone has been very compassionate towards patients and the job. They have bent over backwards to make sure they could do what they can to help my vision. I had been going here since I was born because this is where they rushed me to when they saw something wrong with my eyes. Unfortunately some of the best glaucoma specialists have retired. I can't speak for the "young" ones who are likely used to older people with cataracts or glaucoma. It's a rare case to have a patient with congenital cataracts or glaucoma so I feel thankful every day that I've had the chance to be treated by such caring and intelligent people.
