I somehow got a load of bad fuel contaminated with water and diesel bug. The contaminated fuel damaged my fuel system. State Farm denied the claim for wear and tear. Yes, a vehicle two years old and with only twenty-five thousand miles was denied for wear and tear. The proximate cause of the damage was the sudden and accidental introduction of contaminated fuel, not wear and tear. The sad thing is this Agency sided with the Auto Property Adjuster who made the coverage decision. I know how far this company has fallen as I was an Adjuster for State Farm my first eight years out of college in the 90s. It makes me sad that a once great company turned into what it is now! Approximately 17K to repair the fuel contamination claim State Farm denied.

When we moved to Clear Lake I requested Shane as my agent based on their convenient location. I am so glad that I did. I've never visited my agent's office as often as I do Shane's and that's because of the convenience (right next door to the UPS store!) and the friendly people. Julann is a treasure, always willing to drop whatever she is doing and help me with whatever issue has me popping in unannounced. She never makes me feel like I am an interruption, and she goes out of her way to be helpful. When my homeowner's rates skyrocketed (like everyone else's) she helped me reevaluate my policy and deductibles and get the rate down to something more affordable. I did shop for several additional quotes and am satisfied that State Farm's rates remain competitive with the market. I recently suffered a small amount of damage to my car. Julann took the time to help me review all four of the repair estimates I received. She guided me through every step of the claim process, and when there was a mix up with the rental car agency, she had it corrected within minutes! A satisfyied customer for over forty years, I highly recommed State Farm and Shane is the best agent ever!

I had no issue until my Mother passed away and my policy lapsed. Upon attempting to renew, I was met with coldness and "you'll need to pay the policy in full!!" Upon calling Progressive directly I was given a much cheaper rate and payment terms rather than hearing "well, with your payment record, this is all we can offer!" Which is what I heard from the HIG agent. Note to self, deal directly with the company and skip the agents! They are obviously narcissistic and enjoy feeding their own egos. Also, moved my homeowner's to State Farm with a cheaper rate as well! Way to treat your past customers well! Consider looking elsewhere for insurance needs as this company just doesn't actually care about keeping or earning your business!

The girls in the office are actually quite friendly but after the horrible experience I received from Billy Henrich I do not wish to ever do business with them. I tried canceling my policy THREE times both on the phone and through email not once did they state to call the carrier or send in documents or anything! He asked what carrier I was moving to and he said "good luck". Then they charged my account over $500 when I called him about it he didn't take my call instead emailed me that I should of sent in documents (again never told me about this) I finally got fed up and called carrier directly and they processed the cancellation with no hesitation. He proceeded to email me lies about the calls we had, saying I got "heated" a couple weeks ago when I had actually just called to ask what the renewal price would be and to tell them I didn't wish to move forward. never have I been disrespectful to them in any way. So many LIES! I am so disappointed in this whole ordeal, specially cause it was directly with the owner, he's so unprofessional needs to get off his high horse.

Prior to insolvency, the risk was evident, and it took multiple attempts to get Lighthouse to cancel my policy before then. I cancelled my insurance with them in January and had to keep following up with Coady & Lewis to confirm it was done, which was three months prior to Lighthouse becoming insolvent by the courts. Lighthouse dragged their feet to confirm cancellations and Coady and Lewis assured me that I would receive a notification from Lighthouse of my cancellation. When it never was received, I followed up and was asked to provide additional information each time. Coady and Lewis should have confirmed all cancellations went through timely upon their request. Particularly when they saw Lighthouse begin to cancel policies. As a result, although Lighthouse finally confirmed my retroactive past cancellation date from January, they went insolvent in April and are now forced to liquidate. They won't issue refunds until the court approves. This is delaying refunds by months and would not have been necessary if Coady and Lewis was aware of what was going on with their carriers, warned their customers and moved them to new policies sooner. I did this on my own and still had to keep following up with Coady and Lewis to get the policy cancelled. Coady and Lewis management should have taken control of this and contacted Lighthouse to confirm what was needed to cancel policies and informed all their staff how to handle requests due to the sensitivity of the situation.

I feel like everyone deserves to know our experience here before choosing to sign up with them for…read moretheir auto insurance. My husband and I had one vehicle on a policy with them and we pay about 140.00 a month for that car (normal... not too bad) we were happy so we wanted to add an additional vehicle we had just bought to our policy. My husband called and added our new car (which is newer, so accordingly costed more per month, which we were understanding of) we were quoted 304.00 a month by a sales person there named Melissa. We signed our agreement on March 29 and we're told our payments would be Due on the fourth of every month (like it had been) and we would be paying for both vehicles. On April 4th we were only charged for the 2012 Jeep (at 140.00....) and thought it was weird but figured our bill would be pro-rated into the next bill and we're fine with that. On May 4 Safe Auto automatically withdrew $540.41 out of our checking account and we were SHOCKED. We're 6 months pregnant and that put us in a huge pickle so we called them. At that point, Melissa and Sheila (the office manager) both kept talking over me and gave us multiple different excuses as to why our bill was so much more pricey. I even continued to go over the math with her...... I don't understand why they couldn't have taken the correct QUOTED amount out of our account on the 4th instead of choosing to not and then double charging the next month and without our consent just taking our money out of our account. My car is 1,034.00 premium for 6 months of insurance (bringing my car to 172.00 a month.... and $5.74 a day) I should have been charged ~379.00 on that first bill for my vehicle alOne PLUS my husbands vehicle (140.00) a month .... bringing a total of 519.00. It's only 21.00, but it's the principle. They kept over talking me when I was doing the math, THEN after calling the "regional office" they called back and said the second vehicle was actually placed into another policy because the coverage wasn't the same and the coverage HAS has to be the same for all vehicles on one policy. (Again, no one told us this when we added the vehicle, and that still didn't stop them from using my husbands banking information on the first policy on the "additional policy" and automatically taking out 540.00. Another issue I have with this office is the manager kept telling me I was wrong, and I wasn't. It's basic math. I broke it down to cost per day. Another problem, originally we were quoted the $304.00 a month for both vehicles... and now we have a "charge" for adding a vehicle of $118.00 broken up over three months. I said we never agreed to pay that (why would anyone agree to paying 118.00 to add a vehicle when we're giving you OUR business). We are normal people and pay our bills on time. I was so worked up by her lack of ability to listen to me and understand where I was coming from, and every single time I asked a specific question they came up with a new excuse to give me as to why I had extra fees, was not receiving a bill for the amount they quoted me on, and why I was not informed on each cars insurance having to be identical to be on the same policy. It makes zero sense. With that being said, if you want to deal with honest insurance people then don't make excuses as to why you're being overcharged, then I recommend going somewhere else.
