I brought in a relatively expensive watch for engraving and paid $195 for the work. The store sent it to an outside hand engraver. The finished engraving was uneven, rough, and not what I expected for a watch of this quality. When I brought my concerns to the store, they explained that hand engraving is not as precise as machine engraving. I understand that hand engraving will have some natural variation, but I don't believe that excuses poor or unfinished-looking workmanship. Most disappointing, the store offered no remedy whatsoever, not a correction, refund, or other solution. I like the jewelry this store sells, but based on this experience, I would be very hesitant to entrust an expensive or sentimental item to their engraving service.
