I had an extremely disappointing experience at Silver Unicorn. I purchased two bracelets totaling $244.38 (one for $140 and one for $90, plus tax). When I came in to exchange the $90 bracelet due to sizing two days later, I was told by a young female sales associate that I only had $59 in credit. I politely explained that this was incorrect based on the pricing of my original receipt, but she insisted and became argumentative. The credit amount should have been $95.63 with tax and she replied she "did not want to argue over $20". It was dismissive, unprofessional, and honestly shocking that someone in retail couldn't or wouldn't do basic math. Despite my efforts to clarify, she dismissed my concerns and said the exchange for an $80 cross was "all set" after huffing and puffing and calling the owner without addressing the math or the error. Her attitude throughout the exchange was unprofessional and condescending. This was by far the worst customer service I've experienced in a retail store. I can only assume she's related to the owner, because this kind of behavior would be unacceptable in any other setting. I encourage others to take their business elsewhere. If you do decide to shop there, be sure to get an itemized receipt and ask to keep all tags, as neither were provided to me. I came in looking for estate jewelry (which they don't carry - they sell only new pieces), but decided to stay and shop around anyway. I'd been in the market for a new 18" solid gold chain for a pendant I have, but I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg! The prices here are pretty reasonable :) A couple of the sales staff helped me during my visit and both were incredibly kind and patient while I made my decision. They took out all of the gold chains and let me look at them, as well as priced a few out for me. They price their gold chains by weight. I ended up getting an 18" solid gold mini figaro chain for about $90. I've had it now for about a month and I've been wearing it 24/7. It's holding up beautifully :) read more

I went there to get a chain for my locket/urn. The family that owns and operates were incredibly warm, and kind. I was shown a silver chain that is so durable they have one on display holding up a brick! It was also priced fairly, and surprisingly affordable. It was very important to me that it be durable. If I could give this jewelry store 0 stars I would. I stopped in 2 weeks back and bought a beautiful ring. I wore it a few times and after about a week the ring completely cracked and was unwearable. I went back in today with a receipt (to prove I bought it not too long ago) and the older man who "helped me" (who I think is the owner or manager) was extremely rude and inconsiderate of my money and experience. He told me it was not his problem the ring broke. I explained to him that it was an $80 ring and should not have broke the way it did. I asked to have it exchanged instead of refunded, so that I could just have a new, not-broken ring. He laughed and said he wouldn't help me at all because it was not his problem. I furiously walked out of the store and will absolutely not be returning. I went back in to try and return it less than 12 hours later because the bracelet was scratched and had faded color and she buffed it out. I needed a necklace repaired - very delicate chain, and my baby grabbed it of my neck, so it ripped where it attaches to the charm. I've had it repaired on the other side, so I knew the repair is not costly- between $10 And $14 I was quoted the last time at few places on Main street. And that's where I had it repaired last time - I should have just gone back, but I was passing by the Silver Unicorn that day, and stopped there because it was convenient.... Lady that took my necklace said "it should not cost much," I shared with her my past experience with pricing, and I left it there. 2 weeks later I was still waiting for a call from them, so I figured I should check on it! I was told that they tried to call me "multiple times and it was always busy!" I decided it's not worth it for me to even argue with the lady, because it was plain stupid to indulge in such obvious lie... there's no busy signal on my cell phone, I don't have a house phone , if they called they could have left a message, right...?! Anyway, I was happy to have my necklace back, so the very next day I went there - only to be surprised with a $25 bill!!!!! I asked the lady, what material did they use to be so expensive??? She replied, "sterling silver"... well, the only problem is that my necklace is 14k white gold! Then, she was trying to backpedal, very unsuccessfully, after confirming what I was saying is true...ughhh the headache this whole encounter gave me! I asked her straight out - Do YOU think this is anywhere near reasonable?? She just blinked my way for a minute...she couldn't prove to me what material was used to repair it, yet was "100% certain" it was 14k white gold... all I know is that the receipt said "sterling silver"!!!!..... I told her for $25 I could buy a whole necklace from sterling silver.... And then she had THE NERVE to talk back in a mocking voice, saying "well, not in 14k gold you won't!!" We went here twice in one day - the first time the woman was kind of cold but when we returned to purchase something she was friendly. I tried on probably 20 rings and didn't feel rushed. Seems like good quality and not overpriced, there's a tiny heart pendant for free with purchase (coupon in one of the guidebooks).
