They are very structured in a good way. Walking in there you can hear and see the children doing activities and having fun. I was very impressed. My son stopped napping and has been an issue since his mother and I divorced. He napped there the first day!! The girls have not had a relationship with their Nanny since when they were just infants. Knowing the environment at home is at a 'good place' is an invaluable aspect when we are away at work. My wife and I are both working through this Pandemic as our industry's are qualified as an Essential Service. I especially am away from home more as my company is a partner with FEMA to transport aid/supplies to areas of need during this Pandemic. We have used a nanny in our home for 15 years. Some have been found by a family friend, word-of-mouth, Care and Nanny Services. As with any family who utilize a Nanny there are stories. But the story for us has stopped with Lena. Comparing our experiences with what we have encountered with Lena is like night and day. Knowing first hand the service you will experience with Lena is very hard to come by. My only regret is that we did not find each other sooner, like 9 years ago. But we would not have found _________ and the girls enjoy her very much. The difference in Lena's Service from other Nanny Companies is her dedication to 'the match'. This is not a, "quick, let's fill a home with a warm body type of service". Nor should it be. Do personalities conflict sometimes, absolutely. But the choices placed in front of us was comforting to minimize this. After the match Lena remained in contact and does what she says she will do. After visiting numerous daycare providers, and considering home-based providers, it became clear that Katie's Kids would be our choice. Not for one second have we regretted this decision. First off, the staff. We love the teachers. They are kind, dedicated, and share a commitment to providing a loving atmosphere focused on fun, learning, and positive development. We were pleasantly surprised by the number of projects that our son completed and brought home. I think our only complaint is that we don't have enough room to display his projects...! Secondly, the location. It's centrally located in downtown Royal Oak and with meters not starting until 11am and the parking garage across the street providing two free hours of parking until five, paying for parking is a rarity (unless of course the weather is bad then I'll spot a dime to park in one of the spots located right in front of the building). Every so often they will host a parents night out where they will watch the children/students from 19:00 - 22:00/23:00ish... This is a great benefit! Being in downtown RO we can eat dinner, see a movie, or just relax downtown knowing our son is hanging out with his friends! Finally, the cost. It's no secret that daycare is expensive but of all the places we visited, Katie's Kids was the most reasonably priced. They did recently raise their prices but even with this bump it's still one of the best deals in town. Considering diapers are INCLUDED until the child is about 18 months old, it's unbeatable. Plus, they take credit cards, so we can slowly earn airline miles to use on a future vacation...! Great staff. A true dedication to a caring, safe, and fun learning environment. Excellent location. Incredibly reasonably priced. It's unbeatable.

We had a great experience with Ebony and Children at Play Event Childcare. We were in Detroit for…read morea wedding and needed child care for six rambunctious kids ranging from 1 1/2 to 4 1/2 years old. We were able to book CAPEC months in advance, which gave us the peace of mind to book the trip knowing that we had reliable child care in place for the night of the wedding. The reservation process was smooth and easy. I spoke to Ebony by phone and she explained her services and confirmed that she could accommodate the size of our group. Once we decided to book CAPEC, we received a link to fill out all the necessary information online (i.e. allergy information and emergency contacts for each child). We then received a written agreement laying out all the terms and information we needed to plan ahead. Given that we had a large group of six kids, Ebony brought a second staff member, Yolaunda. The two of them came very well prepared with plenty of toys and activities for the kids to play with. As soon as they arrived at the hotel they had the kids engaged with bubbles, balloons, and musical instruments. They also did a great job of comforting/distracting the kids so that the parents could slip out without causing a meltdown. Throughout the evening Ebony texted us updates and pictures of the kids playing and enjoying themselves, which was very reassuring and put our minds at ease so we could enjoy the wedding festivities. When we got back to the hotel at midnight all of the kids were fast asleep. The next morning the kids told us how much fun they had with Ebony and Yolaunda, which is really the best feedback you can get. Thank you Ebony, Yolaunda and Children At Play Event Childcare! We can't thank you enough.
