I highly recommend Steppin' Up Physical Therapy at 10006 Auburn Park drive because the therapist got me back to normal after my neck got a pinch that hurt so bad that I could not move it. I could not drive my car or even read a book without excruciating pain. I literally could not turn my head without pain. After five days of doing absolutely nothing except lie in bed, my husband made an appointment and took me to Steppin' Up Physical Therapy. Jason evaluated the problem and then Jerad took over and worked on my neck. He showed me how to do several different neck stretches, always being careful to not cause additional pain. Directions to practice at home were an important part of my recovery. Gradually, I began to feel better and after five weeks, I am pain free and my posture has improved. I can now drive, tutor at the Literacy Alliance and go to Zumba Gold exercise as well as read and crochet. Everyone at Steppin' Up was pleasant and encouraging which helped in my recovery. I owe my amazing therapist, Craig, big time! Craig went above and beyond to educate me about my injury and develop the best plan of action to get me back to living a normal life with no pain! After my MRI results showed I had a disc extrusion my chiropractor said my best option for recovery was surgery. Craig, however, showed me the research to prove that correct strengthening exercises and proper form during certain activities would allow my body to naturally heal itself. Craig explained that if I put in the time and effort I could avoid surgery and teach my body the proper movements and techniques to protect itself. He was totally right - within a few weeks I started to feel the results and by the end of my therapy sessions I walked away pain free and I owe it all to Craig! He allowed me to enjoy running and playing with my kids without pain and I couldn't ask for more. Steppin-up was recommended to me by my son-in law, Kirk, who knew Jason, the owner through Christians classes at their Church. My problem was dealing with a fracture of The trochanter bone, a bone in the hip. Required no surgery, but would heal on its own in 4-6 weeks. Seems I had 10 sessions of physical therapy to strenghten this bone. I also needed help with my balance. After all, I'm 88 years old and balance is a problem. These PTs were so very good, every one of them, and worked very hard with me. I had all of them, Jerald, Craig, Jason, and Nathan, but Jerald was the one that worked with me most iof the time. I was apprehensive about coming to physical therapy even though my doctor recommended Steppin'Up for my "balance" problem. During my evaluation interview Robert H. explained I favored my right leg (because of an earlier knee injury) and that threw me off balance. During the ensuing therapy sessions he and Sarah B. guided me through the exercises that strengthened my knee/leg muscles. Ouch ! Very painful, but the ice pack took care of that ! What a great team of professional staff (Taylor, Craig, and Alyssa to list a few), who are always friendly, giving me that one-on-one care. My doctor recommended I go to Steppin' Up Physical Therapy @ Windsong (Coldwater Road) after my complete knee replacement. Everyone there was awesome! They listened, were very attentive, so kind, and most importantly worked to my personality and limits. They set me up for a spectacular recovery. It was the hardest recovery I have ever experienced at 50 years old, but I knew that if I did not push myself I would not gain full range of motion with my new knee... and they supported and pushed me every step. I had a great experience at Steppin' Up Physical Therapy. I had several sessions to improve my knee function. Maddie is very knowledgeable, and she helped me understand my knee condition. I have only had two sessions, however, I feel that Steppin Up has the right idea for treating patients. They give you exercises and make you work, and that is like other establishments.
