The guys at Stereo West Autotoys (Omaha) are AWESOME ! - I went to have my front and rear dash cams install in my vehicle and they gave me an excellent installation price for bringing my own equipment. They have much better price for installation if you purchase the equipment in house. They guys were super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable... I was quickly pleased with some of the alternate suggestions they offered. Fortunately while we were talking, I mentioned a little dissatisfaction with the quality of the equipment I had and they offered a much better product. I returned the cams I purchased from Best Buy and went back to Stereo West Autotoys (Omaha) and order the cameras that we discussed. Unfortunately, they had to order the new cameras but its worth the wait for a system that's 100% better with no additional cost. I will have to update this review once the installation is complete. The store is decked out with every little thing that you could imagine for your vehicle. Tint, stereos, speakers, various electronic gadgets, automatic starter kits, rims.... Very disappointing experience. I canceled a full week before the scheduled installation and was told I'd receive a refund within 10-15 days, but no payment had actually been made. After I submitted my complaint, I received a text saying they had received it and would get back to me soon, but nothing came of it. I had to involve my bank and the BBB just to get movement. Horrible customer service. Had underglow, cab and bumper lights installed in 2021. Went back 2 months ago since they quit working. He quoted me more to fix one item than it cost me for all 3 NEW. Turns out my detailing guy cleaned out the plugs. Works fine now. My recommendation is not to use these arrogant people at all. They try to take advantage of you. read more

Do not use this place for your interlock! They know you have no choice but to deal with their terrible customer service so they don't go out of their way to help with anything. They don't care if you have to wait over an hour for your monthly service, they will go to lunch and make you wait. They don't take appts and it's come whenever but they don't care how long you wait. They will never answer any questions you have about the device. They are so rude! They treat you more like a criminal than the court system does. You will see a lot of extra charges and when you ask about them, they say call Interlock. There is no explanation of charges and nothing you can do about it. They seem to be the cheapest when you are calling around but after they double and triple charge you for everything, it's actually more expensive than anywhere else. I scheduled an appointments to get it removed 3 weeks in advance and they told me 3 times that it would take an hour. After an hour and 15 minutes, I looked out and they hadn't even started on it yet. Instead of apologizing, they threaten to not take it out. They hold it over you because they know you have no other choice. You DO have another choice. Get a different one installed elsewhere. Trust me! read more

Poor service, Poor quality control and lack of responsiveness and shay "return" policy sum it up. When I complained about my auto stereo not being ggood and looking at upgrading option they did not listen to and analyze the problem. Rather, sold me an overpriced 5 speaker ensemble ($9000) that is worse than the stock system. Original problem seems to have been not enough speakers-something they did not figure out at my expense. When I requested removal (3 times so far)l of the new system they ignore me. Now I am out of $9000 and I will have to get a credible stereo specialist to remove their junk and replace the stock stereo plus possibly add a few speakers. My advice, DO NOT SHOP HERE and buy vehicle with a B & W system already installed. read more

Awful experience, got remote start put in last year and it stopped working quickly. they reset it and again this winter it has stopped working. I called to request it to be fixed again, he was rude and told me i would have to wait there all day and rather than replacing it as they said they would before they would only reset it again. read more

I can't begin to describe how disappointing my experience has been at Stereo West. Not completely honest about the product being sold, installation issues that resulted in my vehicle needing repairs at my primary mechanic they refuse to take ownership of, and poor attitude when confronted about those issue. One mechanic guy was very nice and helpful. I wish I had gotten his name. But the rest of them, including the salesman are not people you should be trusting with your business. Go literally anywhere else. Also, after reading other reviews I know they will think of some response "professional" to this to try and push ownership of the issues off of them instead of just apologizing and taking ownership of their errors. read more

THIS IS A ZERO STAR REVIEW: Complaints have been filed to the Pioneer USA Support Center (informing them of how one of their authorized dealers is sending out their product) and also the Better Business Bureau. I'm beyond disgusted with this company. I was lied to on the date my car stereo was being sent. As time went on this caused me me a lot of stress with hours on the phone with UPS regarding a tracking number 'that didn't even exist because it was given to me incorrectly.' I filed a billing dispute with American Express as I honestly didn't think tmy car stereo had ever been sent. But the most important thing to relay here and beware future customers, in the 21 countries that I've lived in or visited I've never had a package sent to me where they use the original (in this case the Pioneer stereo) box, turn it inside out, cover it in tape and then send it the customer. So upon opening the box you have no option but to destroy it because it's covered in brown tape and it turns into a complete mess. I'm sorry but I've always kept my boxes so that when I sell something down the road it can be sold with the original box. Mentioning this on the phone, Darrell's attitude was, 'You'll have to turn it inside out man.' What a way to run a business, I'm sorry but I'm completely appalled at how this company runs its business. Maybe the absolute WORST service that I have EVER received from a business in my life. Here is my experience: Made an appointment for window tint and Apple car play install for my vehicle a week in advance. Dropped my car off the night before and they quoted me $110 for the tint and a few hours labor at $80 per hour for the Apple CarPlay install. At 11:45AM they called and said the car was ready. I thought that was a little too quick so I called back and asked did they install the Apple Car Play. They said they forgot/didn't know it was supposed to be done. Then the guy said "well it will be a few more hours but we will get it done today". At 6:30pm I call and they say that it will be done before "they go home". At 7:45pm a "manager" calls me and says "hey, my guys are working on other stuff...we aren't gonna get to it tonight but we will get to it tomorrow". I then ask "do you promise that it will be done tomorrow"...he says "yes, it will be done tomorrow". So, at 130PM I call them and I speak with an assistant manager named Ryan. He tells me and this is word for word "hey, we aren't gonna get to it today but I can schedule it for after Christmas". I tell him "I was promised that it would be done today". I ask to speak to the manager from last night and he places me on hold. He then tells me that he can't come to the phone because he is with another customer. He then proceeds to tell me that it is not getting done but he's trying to "help me" by scheduling it for after Christmas. After me telling him that I'm in a wheelchair and that it is hard to get the car to them, he says "well if you don't like it, you can come pick up your car and take it somewhere else" This is the most disrespectful place I have ever been to. Do NOT take your vehicle there for ANYTHING. The way they treat their customers is disgraceful. read more

I wasn't impressed with this location's customer service when I purchased the remote start, I didn't care if they had good customer service skills at that time. I just wanted my remote start. I have been a repeat customer with these guys spanning the last 12+ years. Jobs done from entertainment (dvd player, drop down screen) system on our minivan, to remote starters and car alarms. We've been satisfied with their product and how they stand by their work if any of the installed parts started failing (personal experience). Their place is setup very nicely to visually see/test various electronics and offer various products/toys for whatever you may need for your car. Their prices are pretty competitive but have found out they can be pricier compared to other places that offer the same services. Overall, I would recommend these guys; and will most likely get my business again. read more

I had a significant amount of speakers and subs installed, and the guys at Stereo West absolutely killed it for me. Ryan and Darryl (not sure on the spelling) helped me over the phone and in the store, both of them were incredibly informative and helpful. The only downside would be how much my wallet hurts after I swiped my credit card lol, but great car audio is pricey and that's what I expected going in. Came into their little shop looking for speaker wire and for some advice. Boy was I taken by surprise with the customer service. They were rude and condescending, to say the least. Pretty sure one of the guys I was talking to was the OWNER of this business. They had what I needed but after the customer service I received, I decided to go to a place that valued by my business. So, I found speaker wire at Nebraska furniture mart, which is very close by! Once again, could not believe how condescending the front desk workers were to me and my family. I have had a remote starter which was installed by Stereo West in my 2009 Honda CRV for about ten years. It has worked great. A couple of times after six or so years, the remote fob quit working, I took it in and they fixed it right away with not charge. Last month, the fob pretty much fell apart after some many years of use, drops, etc. It is so old that SW advised me to look online for a replacement fob. I did and took it to them to get it programmed. They did so right away and it works perfectly. They could have told me that it couldn't be fixed and that I would need a whole new remote system, but they did not. I appreciate their excellent service. read more

Took my car for an appointment at 9am- called me at 12pm and said they couldn't enter the vehicle when I told them 3 times the only way through the vehicle was through the trunk (I know this is a pain in the ass, but that's exactly why I was getting a keyless entry module installed)-- I showed up to help them- they ended up being able to get into the vehicle through the trunk but didn't call me. Had to bring back my vehicle because surprise! Remote start didn't work! They were able to get me in a day and fix it. They also have a sign with covid safety precautions-- distance, sanitize-- but nothing about wearing a mask. Nearly no one was wearing a mask. Going to find someone else next time. read more

Went in today for an estment on a remote start for my tuck was quoted for the most expensive one they had. Then was told the security system was sepret ( they are not ) was told the remote start by its self would be $500 then the Security system would be an extra $200. Told the person giving me the quote that i did not want or need an lcd remote he then tryed to sell me one with phone controlls all i want is the simple remote i feel its way over priced and i would recomend doing some Research on viper remote starts before you get one Through theses guys read more

DON'T BUY AUDIO SYSTEMS FROM THESE PEOPLE I've taken my car here twice, once to remove a faulty remote start and install a new one which works well and I am happy with however the second time I brought them my car was for speakers and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed. I was lucky enough to get the speakers I wanted while they were in stock and a paid extra for the expert install because I didn't want anything left up to chance with as much as I was spending. Despite paying for higher quality install they managed to completely break my passenger door lock mechanism to the point of having to replace it which is quite unacceptable. The only redeeming quality is that they did cover this repair cost (as they should) however it was a ridiculous hassle. Furthermore after talking with them about repairing my stock auxiliary port they just kept trying to upsell me to bigger and better stereos. This is not at all what I want, I just want to fix what I have without spending almost another thousand dollars. At this point I can't see myself giving them any more of my business in the future. read more

So, my wife wanted a remote starter. My first stop was to read reviews on Yelp. Honestly the reviews about Stero West were not great (if you're reading this, you can see), but my wife notified me that she had already purchased a Groupon for the starter. Well, we dropped the car off. Later that day I received a phone call from Stereo West saying they were having trouble installing it, but they were determined to figure out the problem and get it resolved. Turns out the problem was with the gear shift (which we were aware of before dropping off the car and were going to have fixed at the dealership). Well, not only did they successfully install the remote starter, they also fixed the gearshift no extra charge. I realize now that the gearshift had to be fixed before the starter could be installed. Stereo West could have told us we need to repair the gearshift and then reschedule to have the starter installed, but they took care of everything. Highly recommend, will definitely do business with again. read more

Some things just never change! The same Audi I referred to in my earlier review had the Factory Stereo fail so didn't read my own review and called these people again. After explaining everything (make, model and year of the car, as well as the exact model of the factory unit) I was quoted $280.00. I made the 60 mile one way trip only to be told actually getting it done would be $420.00!!!!!! The only explanation I was given when I asked the original guy on the phone about the difference was "I forgot to add some parts". Very disappointed with the service they had my car four days. Finally get it back Saturday thinking everything is tuned and adjusted properly.I had got two amps and a subwoofer box and an Alpine PXE DSP installed the processor is buried in the corner of the car on top of another amp very difficult to get to or adjust and they threw away my Mark Levinson factory amp saying it was in water from a leak inside the car the factory amp worked perfectly never had a problem and they put my DSP processor and a amp in the same location where this leak was so if I want to switch back to the factory system I can't I just don't like the way things was done or handled from the beginning to the end of the the process if I'm paying $2637.03 for services and $1060.00 just for labor it should have been done more professionally. I won't ever do business with them again!! So when I went there I took my component speakers and they didn't even install my tweet or crossover in the rear doors very disappointed don't go here save your money my system was rushed and not everything was installed they didn't care once I paid them and Darrell was suppose to call me back but nothing again! read more

Very poor service by the guy named Darrell was very rude when I asked question about window tint. Had to tell him that price was 150 for 2 front windows in ceramic tint. As he clained he was the longest working there for 4 years. I clearly pointee out that Brian has been there way longer. So this all started when he wanted to charge me 225 for window tint for 2 windows !! Also tired to charge me an extra 20 bucks to match my factory window tint. Well there only 1 type of color tint. No matching to be done. So he lied not once but 3 times to me. Very un please with how he treated me and spoke to me. I had to tell him what prices where and whos been there longer. Each time I asked about the tint he got very aggravated. He was very passive aggresive and lost a good paying customer for good. I will now choose Inphase or my tint needs. Dont let these guys fool you to thinking you need to match factory tint. Its one color as posted on board and that what Darell even said. So how do u match factory ? He lied. Only the percentage changes the shade. Thats it. These guys ate crooks. Let this be known this place does shady business. Pretty sad when you as a customer has to tell a guy whom claims hes been there the longest but has only been there 4 years he claims. I find that funny. This place will never have my business again. I got a deal off of Groupon to go here and they said the value was $238 on Groupon and that it was 50% off so I thought it was a great deal on window tint, then I went to the store to have it done and was told that it was a level 1 tint on Groupon even though the advertised price for the level 1 tint was $200 so $38 less than what they advertised for on Groupon then they discounted it further to $149 in store so the prices they advertised on Groupon are marked up more to make it seem like you got a better deal than you are... then when brought to the attention of management they just said they didn't care go get a refund from Groupon we don't need your business... these guys are deceiving customers I would suggest finding somewhere else that is read more

A few years ago I had my Volkswagen Cabrio convertible windows tinted here. The tint was an okay job but customer service and techs breaking things was horrible. In the end they ripped the convertible top seams towards the back and broke the key insert area on my door handle. I wouldn't have been so upset over it if they hadn't lied about it. Plus with the job of being a corrections officer I had to have my vehicle locked at all times on prison property, which this made it to where anyone could have gotten in my car. They ended up fixing the key insert and still wouldn't take blame for it. They were not happy with my google review and harassed me about it at that time. Just because you fixed an issue caused by an employee doesn't mean I don't have the right to warn others. Do your research before going to this place or any place for that matter. read more

Short version: AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Longer version: I scheduled an appointment weeks in advance for window tinting. As instructed, I brought in my car first thing in the morning. I was informed that it likely wouldn't be ready until around their close time of 6 p.m.. Annoying that I was instructed to bring it in so far in advance, but not a big deal. At 5:45, I sent my husband to pick up the car, at which point they told him it wouldn't be ready until 8:00 and they would call us. No apology, just a "well, we had lots of appointments today." What?? They expect me to drop everything and pick up my car at 8 pm on a Saturday night or go without my car until Monday, since they aren't open on Sunday?? At 8:00, having heard nothing, I called. Still not ready. Looking like 9:00. I told them I had scheduled weeks in advance, needed to put my baby to bed so couldn't be out late, needed my car for an appointment the next morning, etc. and they simply couldn't have cared less. But, IT GETS WORSE!! The next morning I take my spare key and get a ride to my car so I can make it to my appointment and . . . THE BATTERY IS DEAD! They left on an interior light and the shop is closed, so I have no choice but to miss my appointment and call someone to come jump my car. On Monday I went in and asked to speak to a manager, who briefly thanked me for letting him know and said he'd address it at their weekly meeting so it wouldn't happen again. That was it. I repeat - AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Don't be tempted by their many offerings on Groupon, Living Social, and Amazon Local - the result isn't worth the savings. read more

these guys used to be all pro when I lived in Omaha. therefore I had no objection to using them to install my wife's satelite radio while passing thru for a few days back in august. I read the reviews and didn't heed other folks' advice because I believed they were as good as they use to be. THEY ARE NOT!! satelite radio only works intermittently. they also hooked the radio up in such a way that the battery drains and put something back together wrong on the climate control knob so it only goes half way to cold. they denied doing anything wrong, and offered to pay to have it fixed only if I drove to one of they're network shops in colorado springs, which is almost 3 hours from my house. manager never returned my call and employees kept giving me run around. to this day I haven't heard from the manager, who apparently is the only one who can handle issues with this install. read more

On a couple of occasions I've had minor issues with charging one of my controllers and they have been super helpful.
