We wanted to make sure the house was pristine when we brought him home, and WOW did they deliver! Even though we were cutting it close, they were willing to work out their schedule to accommodate us in time, which was a real lifesaver because my son arrived almost two weeks early! We've continued with their service for about a year now, and they've been consistently wonderful, not only in terms of the quality of the clean but also in terms of the interpersonal engagements with Jenn, the owner, as well as her entire team. Our schedule sometimes calls for some extra flexibility, which Jenn's team is always able to accommodate, and no matter which members of the team end up on our schedule we know we're in good hands. Recently, Jenn and her partner Jerry came along on our cleaning as they orientating a couple recent additions to the team. From my home office, I could hear Jerry giving guidance and tips and was impressed with the little addition insights and touches that Top 2 Bottom brings to the process. Towards the end of the cleaning, I took the dogs for a walk and carried them up to a bathroom to dry their feet since I wanted to maintain the perfect clean. While I was toweling off their feet, my eye was drawn to the shower in a way you'd only see in a movie or a meme; it was mostly behind me, but out of the corner of my eye the shine of the clean struck me. It was such a simple thing but WOW it really blew me away how bright and clean the grout was. When I headed to the nursery, I found a great surprise which I snapped a photo of and was about to send to my wife when I realized I should let her discover it for herself. I had a work engagement that evening, and was en route when I got the call from my wife. Our son's Mickey and Minnie Mouse had been staged to look like they were reading together in the nursery chair. It was the sort of "surprise and delight" touch that Disney World itself aspires to, and it really did surprise and delight my wife. Our dimmable lighting had been set to pleasing levels throughout the house, and as always the cleaning was just perfect. I couldn't recommend this company highly enough!

I debated whether I wanted to do this review, because I got the sense the owner had had a rough day…read moreand our experience may not have been typical. First, the cleaners arrived three hours late--a job ran over, then they got lost. (I had given her the address of the complex when I booked the cleaning and she assured me she was familiar with it, but apparently not). Wouldn't have known any of this had I not called and texted to find out where they were. When they arrived in the early afternoon, The owner quoted us a final price and took payment before leaving for another job, and the other person stayed to "clean" our 2 bed (only one being cleaned though), 2 bath apartment. "Clean" is in air quotes because Cleaner #1 didn't do much during their four hours beyond clear the counters off, unplug the cable box from the TV, sweep the kitchen and living room, mop one of the bathrooms and take a long smoke break. The cleaner took a second smoke break at around the 4 hour mark and said the owner would be meeting him downstairs because he had left his cell phone in her car. 45 minutes later the owner returned, and stuck around for about 3 hours to finish the job (Per the owner Cleaner #1 went to get a drink and we never saw him again). I'll give the owner this--she is a hard worker and was pretty clearly trying to salvage the situation. (it's the only reason this is a two star review). She accomplished several times more than cleaner #1 in a little less time. However, in the interests of triage (we were most concerned about the kitchen) we asked her to emphasize cleaning the oven, microwave, and fronts of cabinets above the microwave when we saw how long it was taking, as the stove had a lot of grease buildup. She did a good job on the interiors of both appliances, but left a lot of grease on the fronts of them. I re-cleaned them both this morning, and did a better job in 15 minutes than their combined 8 hours. Long story short, I don't wish them ill, and we may well have caught them on an off day, but we won't be taking her up on her offer of ongoing cleaning. If you want to take a chance on them, I recommend doing so in a low stakes situation (not right before a party or house guests), on a day you have a flexible schedule, and to be very clear on what your top priorities are in the event they run out of time. If I were to do it again I would have told them at the start to just do the kitchen and baths and ignore the rest of the house, given they were already 3 hours late and the rest of the place was reasonably tidy. To the owner: At a minimum, I'd recommend having a performance conversation with cleaner #1. We got the sense he may have created a lot of unnecessary stress for you yesterday, and as a manager myself you deserve better.

The price was decent and we were able to schedule a cleaning soon. We scheduled the cleaning for Sat at 10 am. Around 10:15, no one showed up so I called to see if she is having trouble finding the house.... no response. I called around 11, still no response. I am very disappointed in the business. There are all these rave reviews and no one showed up. Finally around 12:15, I finally get a text that there was a family emergency. It would have been no big deal if she had to cancel because of an emergency. I understand since stuff happens but it would have showed some kind of sincerity if she told me at the appointed time or before that she couldn't make it. It would have showed an effort and that she didn't forget the appointment but nothing except a text after multiple calls and a voicemail from me.

The confirmation email states that they have an hour window to arrive, but I'll note anyway that Check Maid showed up at 2:20 PM for my 1:30 PM appointment. All the photos on Yelp and the website show the teams wearing green "Check Maid" t-shirts. My two cleaners were not wearing the "uniform," but the cleaning supplies and vacuum they were lugging made me feel comfortable to leave these two in my apartment alone for an hour and a half. I came back an hour and a half later, and the cleaning crew was still at it even though the paid time had elapsed. I was very pleased with how my apartment looked. My appliances were shining, the floor was spotless, my blinds were dusty no more and they cleaned under and around every piece of furniture. The area of my place I was most pleased with was the bathroom. They really cleaned every nook and cranny. It looked so great I didn't want to step in my shower for fear of getting it dirty! I will for sure be signing up for a monthly cleaning from Check Maid. Thank you!!
