I took my car to this place. From what I've heard from old townies it was a gas station about a hundred years ago. It's really run down and there's hardly anywhere to park. I go in and ask for an ESTIMATE. Most mechanics I go to have me sign off a work order asking for an ESTIMATE. I didn't sign anything. I get a call about 8 hours later and the one guy who works there tells me he's going to come in tomorrow and keep looking for the problem. I get a call the next afternoon and he says he fixed it. I go in and I owe $250. Now I could have argued and said I just wanted an estimate but I didn't want a big blow up so I just paid it and left. I'm never going back there. Here I am a month later with $600 repair. If these clowns had given me a $250 estimate like what I wanted I would have junked it then because it's a crummy GM car. Now I'm stuck with no car and out $250. Watch out for these guys. read more

I have been going here for about 4-5 years for my car repairs, The gentlemen who own this aren't fully up to date when it comes to customer service or keeping up with people, Their Lot is always full of random cars, but the gentlemen who work there just want to do their job, when you take away looking for a nice waiting room, or free anything, it's a nice plain auto shop, their prices are decent and they get the work done quickly, they aren't open on the weekend, but you can park your car there over the weekend and put the keys in their mailbox ( Beware: they claim nothing ) When I drop my car off, I call them about in about 3-4 hours and they usually have a quote for me, ( note.. I call them) yes they don't like it, but If I don't - I probably won't hear back until the next day. Best put, these guys aren't the best at running a business, but if you want your car fixed and don't want to pay an arm and a leg, they're a great solution. read more

This place gets a bad rep because it is in a old run down gas station, but speaking purely of my experience with them I thought they were great. I needed an alternator swapped out and I am somewhat technical myself so I planned to do it on my own. After getting into it I couldn't even figure out how to pull the alternator out. I gave them a call at the recommendation of a friend, they told me it would be an hour of shop labor since I had the part already. I had an estimate instantly, brought them the car and the alternator, the next day I had my car back working better than ever and the estimate was to the penny exactly what I got charged. My family has used this shop for years I even had a relative who worked here way back in the day. However the people who run the shop now are nothing but rude. My car was towed to the shop after it just shut off while driving it took them 4 days to run a 5 min test to see that the timing chain broke. When I questioned how much it ruined the engine and asked for different options as to go about fixing it the man I was speaking with basically told me it was my problem and that he couldn't help me until I made up my mind and hung up. The pricing he gave me was decent but didn't add up right either for what he was saying for parts and labor. Will never take my car back here ever again. read more

AVOID THIS RIPOFF BIZ!! I LOST $3000 GOING TO THIS CON MAN!I always went to Kensers,Canton,IL.but(sadly)closed.This nightmare auto repair lasted over a yr.I had check engine light/stalling/hardstart problem.Each repair visit was just a costly "bandaid"fix to the unknown problems always doing a "part changing guessing game"not having up to date diagnostic equip.plus the $ of labor each of the(at least)6 failed repair attempts.Tiried of this,I assumed installing new/rebuilt enginewill resolve the problems.The wait(was told)3-4 wks,it was 4 mo.!!! Right away(when I got car back& paying $3000)it leaked ALL oil and check eng/hard start problem also continued unfixed(HA!)Towed back,rebuilt a 2nd time(wait 3 more mo),oil leaked less,again...eng light/stalling problem persists fully unchanged,car not driveable.When I got home I found the rear driver's side damaged($580repair est.), this con man was silent on this during delivery.ENOUGH! Took him to small claims court,the joke "trial"was 2-3 min.long.After my 1min.testimony,judge halts trial saying "this court case is dismissed!You fail to prove this auto repair shop did anything wrong to your car!" Obviously a better judgement on TVs JUDGE JUDY(get part of $3000 back) instead of the "judgement" from hokey JUDGE JODI in Peoria.(I've been hinted that defendant & judge are friends).Now,3 best auto shops(Peoria) are Beachlers,John's Auto,& Midas,all 3 located N. The last review was spot-on. If you genuinely care about the appearance of the place vs. the quality of service you're getting ...go somewhere else. These guys give you the best prices and do great jobs on your vehicles, in exchange for using your could be extra dollars for esthetics. I appreciate that. My water pump was going out and I had a bad head gasket that was leaking fluid and all total it cost me 691$ I doubt 10 years ago I could've found rates like that. read more

Took my car there for a fuel pump replacement. The service and price were reasonable. About 2 weeks ago (and 2 months after the repair) I noticed a leak when I filled up for gas. I took my car back and explained the situation to Jayme. He asked if I could wait 10 min. which I did and had my car in in no time. A simple hose clamp was the problem. Jayme then even offered to compensate me for the gas that had leaked out. I thanked him and gratefully declined. I was just happy that they had resolved the problem so quickly. read more
