Upon arrival we were greeted by the astute, friendly and informative staff at reception. Our room was very spacious with plenty of room, plus a large bathroom with jacuzzi. The accommodations are kept clean, and the king size bed was firm and comfortable. Every morning they serve a good hearty "breakfast-in-bed" delivered to your room at whatever time you choose the night before. Between 7am to 10am. The hotel is very close to the overcrowded Clifton Hill area which is home to an amusement park atmosphere. The hotel is also within good walking distance to the Falls, about a 20 -30 minutes walk along the promenade on the Niagara River. However, it's quiet at the hotel at all hours thankfully. A beautiful hotel within walking distance to many falls attractions like Clifton Hill, The Skylon Tower, and The Table Rock Welcome Centre. There is a restaurant below the inn which was fabulous. Staff were welcoming and warm. Being from out of the country I had numerous questions while I was there and the staff I met were patient and helpful. The room was modern, clean, and neat. I rarely heard any of my neighbors or outside noise. The bed was comfy, water pressure in the shower was good, and the AC worked properly. I would stay here again with the close walk to the tourist attractions and falls, without being right in the center of the madness. The breakfast in bed was soooo good. After seeing so many glorious reviews, my expectations from the Sterling Inn & Spa were rather high. All I wanted was a nice, cozy room, comfy bed, hot and pleasant shower and a working TV. Our Deluxe King Steam Shower room was on the first floor with a window to the parking lot. My first impression wasn't that great. The room was very specious, but empty and echoey. The combination of grayish laminate flooring (no carpet), and dark brown furniture were cold and uninviting. Some furniture looked old and worn out. All the lamps had bright, white light. The only way to add some ambience to the space was turning them off. Our room felt much better with just a little light from the kitchen nook area. The front desk staff were helpful, polite and informative. It was actually the best part of the experience at Sterling Inn & Spa. I'm sure, if I had any complaints, they would try to make me happy without hesitation. However, if they really wanted to provide me with a perfect stay, I would not have been given the worst room in the entire hotel, but I would have been offered a free upgrade, which was provided by Expedia. Unfortunately, I didn't notice that there was such an option until later. Now, the worst. I found out too late that the steam shower in our room had a truly unpleasant odor because of the blocked drain. The smell coming from the drain filled the whole shower cabin. Generally, the shower area looked dirty, including the glass door which was covered with soap scum. It was a disaster. We also had a problem with the TV, plus there were limited channels available. The king size bed was really nice, but it was too close to a few steps between the bedroom and living room. Sometimes when I moved, the automatic lights illuminating these stairs would turn on. It was annoying especially during the night. Besides the endless coffee, tea and water available at the lobby, we also received two complimentary glasses of sparkling wine (vouchers valid from 5-6PM), and breakfast. Let me tell you about "Breakfast in Bed". There is no alternative to having breakfast anywhere other than in your room. Just fill out a "breakfast slip" and hang it outside your room door by 10 p.m. For two people you will receive yogurt with granola, two tiny already peeled hard-boiled eggs (I didn't like its texture), one apple, one orange, two croissants and fruit jam. The store-bought orange juice was ok. The French press coffee would be drinkable, if it were served with the proper measured amount of hot water. We simply ruined it. Everything was nicely served, but honestly, besides the warm and buttery croissant, the food was basic and nothing special. The parking situation is delightful ($18 per night). The location is also very good. You're just 5 minutes from the top of Clifton Hill. If you decide to stay at Sterling Inn & Spa be sure to check everything before settling down. If I knew better, I would have definitely reserved a smaller room with a nice bathroom, or I would rather choose a different hotel with the view. read more

Please don't waste your money elsewhere! This place exceeded my expectations. The reception staff were courteous and informative, and the housekeeping staff were as well. I set the bar extremely high after serving 25 years in the military and expect nothing less than impeccable accommodations. From the moment I walked in I was blown away! The room was quite large and welcoming. The vinyl flooring done in a wood look gave the warm look of a rustic cabin feel. From the jacuzzi in the bath to the king size bed with a faux canopy look, I was totally impressed. Two cotton terry robes were placed on the bed awaiting my use after a soothing jacuzzi and a hot shower! The room between the wet bar and the bedroom was adorned by a 46 inch wide screen television placed above a faux fireplace for a warm touch. Once I took a video of my room, I chose to explore the rest of the complex. I stayed on the first floor and the dining facility, spa, fitness room, and bar were down on the basement level. I will include pictures as well as a video of yelp allows. All these magnificent accommodations for under $100usd. Rooms and hallways are dimly lit suggesting a mote intimate setting. All the fixture and furnishings were very nice for a room that's only a few blocks from the Clifton Hill entertainment district. No views here in this 2 story lodging. Highlights were really the steam shower and the breakfast. The raised bedroom area could pose a trip/fall hazard at night. And instructions for breakfast and other amenities could have been clearer and more consistent (i.e., different information depending on who you asked or what you read). Still highly recommended though pricier than most hotels in the area. read more

Best free breakfast delivered to your room at a time you select which was very convenient as we were out and about daily. Has a wonderful massage at the Spa which I highly recommend after a day of walking. Make appointments prior to your arrival. Parking is much less than the other hotels. Close to Clinton hill. If you need to drive your car closer to the Falls, you will have to pay for parking or you can Uber it because it's probably about a mile and a half walk when you do pay for parking which was $35. We had an excellent stay. The room was spacious and immaculate. The service was on point. Lisa at the front desk booked our dinner reservations and booked us on a wine tour. They even had a bottle of champagne in our room to celebrate our 11th anniversary. This was one of the nicest rooms we have ever stayed in. It had a fireplace, steam shower and a two person whirlpool tub. We really loved the complete darkness shades on the windows. Really allowed you to sleep in. The building was originally a creamery in the 1920's and the current owners have maintained many of the original open beam wood ceilings. It was beautiful. Another wonderful touch was the daily breakfast in bed. It made it very romantic and perfect for the couple that needs some together time. We highly recommend and will stay here again.. read more

When we arrived, the front desk was kind in offering recommendations for things to do, places to see, and food to try. She also was very informative in letting us know what services the hotel offered. They offer a breakfast in bed option and it makes the experience so relaxing! Ordering is easy and service is prompt. The food wasn't anything special, just a continental, but it always tastes better in bed. The rooms look just like they do online, absolutely stunning! The room we got was huge with a king size bed and walk-in steam shower. Very beautiful! It was also within walking distance to Clifton Falls and the falls themselves! We have not vacationed since 2018 so I am thrilled that I chose wisely. This boutique hotel lives up to its great reputation. Greg at the reception counter greeted us so warmly and took the time to explain what to expect and what great services we were in for. Breakfast in bed was fantastic. The steam shower was relaxing. The room/suite was almost the same size as my apartment (I am not exaggerating). All the staff was friendly, courteous and quick to help, I mean ALL of them, no exception. Of course I had to take advantage of the spa services. Tracy has the softest hands, so both my massage and facial were relaxing and rewarding! What a sweet young lady. We also tried the AG restaurant and did find it a bit expensive but the food was good but on the other hand the drinks were great. The location was central to everything, from restaurants, amusement park, easy walk to the Falls and park area. Across the street is the restaurant Chef of Indian- great food and affordable and great service. I will definitely be coming back to this hotel!!! It scores a 10 for me and my husband. read more

My partner and I stayed at the Sterling Inn over the weekend for our anniversary and we definitely had a relaxing time. We stayed in room 218 with a king bed and steam shower, and thought the spaciousness was fantastic and the electric fireplace was an amazing touch. There's even a good-sized balcony to enjoy in warmer weather (there's was 30cm of snow on our first full day, and it was cold overall so we definitely didn't use it). We didn't use any of the amenities, but I loved the aromatic products (facial bar, massage bar, shower steamer...etc.) included with the room and the extremely comfortable bed. We enjoyed breakfast in bed both mornings of our stay and it was certainly filling and of high-quality. Our tray included yoghurt and muesli, spinach and egg quiche, orange juice, french press coffee (although you can choose between that, decaf, and tea), fruit, local preserves (so, so good!) and really delicious croissants. There's also the option to pay a little more for mimosas and an extra selection of pastries - but what they already give you for free is plenty! My partner went to peek at the gym hoping to get a workout in but wasn't able to as the weight selection was really too small (even too light for me), so if you're regular gym goers who focus mainly on weight training, I wouldn't bet on a workout here. Another plus point was the citrus water and free coffee in the lobby, where there's even a selection of flavour pumps. If I was staying for longer I would have bought a small non-dairy creamer and enjoyed the coffee on multiple days - it was good enough not to warrant buying coffees. My only complaint would be the noise from the plumbing on our first night. I'm not sure if it's just the room we were staying in, but whenever someone were to take a shower and turn the tap on and off you could hear the plumbing the entire time. Unfortunately for me someone took a shower at 1:30am and then at 6:30am, so I had broken sleep. However, my second night was peaceful and quiet and I slept through the night (probably because many people had checked out by then). I was questioning whether to put 4 or 5 stars but I felt like a noise/plumbing issue wasn't bad enough to knock off a star. I really did enjoy my weekend here and so did my partner. More to note: - Parking is $17 per night, so be mindful of that. I've heard cheaper accommodation charging as high as $30, so the parking is priced pretty fairly. However, walking back at night after dinner, I realized there was a lot charging $5 across the street but there were no cars parked there. - There is a $2 per night fee for the accommodation. - I took a quick read of some of the 1-3 star reviews and was happy to see that these were all from over 4 years ago. The hotel seems to have taken all the negatives into consideration and completely upgraded based on what people complained about. The beds are great, there are blackout curtains...etc. read more

In early November 2023, I booked this hotel for 1 night on Apr.7,2024 for the solar eclipse. The reservation was made 5 months before our travel dates and the rate I booked was $225+tax. Three months after I booked it, on Feb.7 2024, hotel manager Debra cancelled my reservation saying that $225 was too cheap and they couldn't honor it, and they wanted to offer me a new rate of $598+tax. She said my booking was made due to a system glitch, but no issues was raised in the past 3 months. Now it's less than 2 months before our trip, we couldn't find any alternative accommodations that's affordable or reasonably priced. They still have rooms available for booking, priced at $1048+tax. It's unacceptable for a hotel to forfeit our reservation simply to raise price. Their conduct was egregiously unfair, unethical, and unprofessional. Id never book a local boutique hotel again cuz your reservation may be cancelled at any time with whatever made up reason. They ruined our trip. Oh what a delightful experience at this Inn and spa. I took their last room a few nights ago. They were completely booked and I understand why. The Inn is gorgeous and the service! Excellent! The room was gorgeous. The shower had a steam option while I showered and what a delicious experience. My stress melted away and my muscles relaxed. I immediately wanted to stay longer, but I was just passing through. It served breakfast in bed, and what a breakfast! I mean, you get several breakfast items and you can purchase pastries! There is complementary bottled water, which is rare to find in any hotel or Inn. There was a mini bar in the small fridge for purchase. The toiletries were spa quality. Parking was 18CAD a night. All hotels in the area change parking fee nightly. It is also a 5 min walk to the Niagara Falls Farris wheel and all the shopping and activities of that area. I will definitely be back to experience more of this hotel next time I come back to Niagara Falls. read more

Stayed for a quick anniversary weekend in September 2022. Easy drive from Pittsburgh (crossing the border took forEVER, though - I wish we'd have looked at some of the other options, but the line was deceptively short!). Parking is easy, safe, and considerably less expensive than all of the hotels closer to the falls. Loved that it was a few blocks away from all the noise and activity, but still close enough to walk to all of it. The shower is AWESOME. Hands-down, the best part of the hotel. The complimentary breakfast was actually better than I expected, and it was a treat to have it delivered to the room. The bed was pretty terrible. Hard, with an uncomfortable dip in the middle. Such a shame, because everything else was wonderful. But a bed *is* crucial for a hotel stay. I'd also add that I think we're all beyond the point of accepting Covid as a legitimate excuse for not providing housekeeping services during a stay. Maybe you can't get enough workers - say that then. It's disappointing to pay what we paid for this stay and not have that. As much as we loved the parking, location, and that amazing shower, I have to take away a star for these two aspects. read more

Though we didn't have a room with a view, the cleanliness, beautiful upkeep, and service of a European " boutique -type" hotel , more than made up for it. Full breakfasts in bed each morning, food was high quality and hand prepared, served by up-beat smiling staff . The bed in our room was so very comfortable--welcome after being out each day. This was the hotel that we picked for our romantic getaway. The room that we picked was the room with the Jacuzzi/Hot Tub. We noticed that the price went down as the weeks went by, so, be aware of that. The front desk staff when we arrived on Friday were not that attentive. They had just finished with the guest before us and were slow to call us up to check us in. We weren't really given more details other than the location of our room and to put the card for breakfast out before 8 pm. We didn't have time to check out our room and we went right to the spa, which is on the lower level. Signage in this hotel is not that great but it is there. There are parts of the hotel are dark but eventually, we found our way to the spa. Our spa experience was incredible. Apparently, the spa deals with taking care of people's issues and when I was done with my hot stone massage, I felt like a new person. We paid for our spa experience at the spa. The two bedroom whirlpool suite was quite large. As we entered our room, there was a table with some stools and a tv. There is also a couch and chair with a coffee table, which is where we ate our breakfast. The next area had the bar fridge and sink. This area was sunken and also had the entrance to the bathroom, which included a walk in shower with a rainfall showerhead, sink and toilet. HINT: to use the shower, just pull out the lever. Going left on the lever will activate the wall jets, and going right will move it towards the showerhead. If you keep it in the middle, you can get the best of both worlds. There is another dial underneath that to adjust the temperature but we were never able to get it any better than hot. We also enjoyed the spa shampoo, conditioner, body wash and soap. The bedroom had two large windows, but had black out curtains. The fireplace was a nice touch but we couldn't keep it on because the smell of natural gas was too strong for us. The bed was very large and very comfortable, The desk had the breakfast in bed menu which you check off and hang it on your door. The room was very comfortable but after our whirlpool, we got too hot and had to adjust the temperature. We noticed that the wood floor was cracked to the point that we were concerned that if we stepped on the cracked part that it would puncture our feet. The other concern with the room was that you had to hold down the lever to flush the toilet. The bar sink only had one setting strong....which meant the water would shoot out at you. Breakfast was delivered at the time that we selected. We were surprised that the egg was just an omelet wrapped in a wrap. The fruit was just an apple and an orange. We didn't eat it. We would have loved more of the homemade jam but were very disappointed that the in-house whipped butter was Gay Lea. The homemade granola paired well with the yogurt. Both days, we splurged on the Mimosas. The menu only gives you one option of one carafe. Sadly, I am a coffee drinker and my wife is a tea drinker, so that option limited us. Later on, we left the room and took off the DO NOT DISTURB sign. Our room was next to the housekeeping cart resupply room, which was always noisy, but we also noticed that we could hear banging from the room next door. Even though, we left for a few hours, our room was never serviced. This meant that we didn't get another BREAKFAST in BED menu for the following day, so, we just reused the same order from the day before. On our second morning, we noticed that our BREAKFAST in BED tray came with only one napkin for two people. These are the little details that annoy me about this hotel. Would I come here again, I might. After all, the hotel is centrally located and very close to Clifton Hill, where all the fun happens to be. However, due to being in the RED ZONE, a lot of the attractions are not open. I think when it hits ORANGE, it will start to open up. WARNING: This has nothing to do with the hotel but we noticed a lot of tourists in Clifton Hill were not wearing masks, so be prepared for that. Parking was $17 per night, if you didn't want to pay it, there is another lot that is $5 next door. read more

We found a really nice deal online and when I called in to see if I could book and upgrade to a suite with a Jacuzzi tub, the staff helped me book direct and honored the rate I found online, giving me the complimentary upgrade. It was the easiest booking process I've ever experienced and the check in was very pleasant as well. The room is very large and so beautiful. It definitely exceeded my expectations (as someone working in hospitality, I can be sorta picky). The colors chosen for the room really compliments the space, making it modern, cozy, and very open. There's complimentary bath salts to make sure you really relax on your stay. You can also fill in a card for complimentary breakfast in bed. After researching and reading the reviews for hotels in this part of Ontario for our visit to the falls, I landed on the Sterling Inn, and thank goodness! This is a FINE hotel with rates comparable or the same as the name brands at which we had points and could have stayed; however, these name brand places had poor reviews. The view out of a window is not worth a poor quality stay. The Sterling Inn is lovely, the rooms perfect, vast, and welcoming. The bed was so comfortable, and we soaked in the Jacuzzi in our bathroom, not realizing how much we needed it after a long day's drive. Not only was the room perfect, but the restaurant on site, AG, is first class!!!!!! Such quality food, perfect serving sizes, and great options from a pre-fixe menu at $75 Canadian dollars per person. Stephan seated me while my husband was delayed a bit, and he made a beautiful glass of Cab Franc appear before me as quickly as I needed it! From the appetizers we selected, to a tenderloin and scallop dinner, to the brulee and lemon lavender cake for dessert, our meal was delicious! A big shout-out to Sarah at check in/out as well. She patiently explained facts about the hotel and our stay, and she even helped up with our parking needs for our car trailer while we went to the Journey Behind the Falls the next morning (highly recommended). I don't think I've enjoyed my stay anywhere more than I did at Sterling, we were greeted (upon request) with strawberries and champagne. The room was amazing, with a few odd handy-man/construction issues, but despite that, we entered the room in all its glory, a jet tub to the right, and living area just beyond that, new and chic decor, red white black. The flatscreen over a fireplace, a clear glass table, some chairs, and the a couch sectioning that room off from the glorious California King... Or I guess in this case, Canada King! An iPhone docking station next to the bed and a bathroom for that same King! This was probably by far my absolute favorite hotel room shower I have ever experienced. 3 people could easily fit in there and.. Well, do whatever they want!!! (Bathe, I was thinking bathe) The massages were out of this world too as well as the restaurant attached. I cannot recommend this place more, everything was so fantastic!! Made a reservation for April 2024 for their Wine and Dine package, and then received a voicemail that my reservation was cancelled because they had a "glitch" in their systems. Voicemail also mentioned another random person's name that apparently had a booking. They asked me to make another reservation and when I looked on their website, the new price was 4 times more expensive than what I originally booked. Seems dishonest policy to cancel reservation and then try to upsell the same room for more money. Very disappointed in service and concerned that they release other customers names to random people. read more

They initially said I could rebook for over 1000/night and later called back and said $600/night. Overall I would say this is a pretty shady and unfair practice. I had to scramble for another hotel and many were already booked. Would not recommend to stay here based on how management operates. Beware they may cancel your reservation after you book and charge you more if you want to keep it. read more

The building is so unsuspecting from the outside, it's a bit plain looking; it's gray, it's flat, you wouldn't expect such a nice Inn. Their rooms were incredible. They were large and spacious, yet cozy. It reminded me of a bachelor apartment. There's a massive king sized bed which was incredibly comfortable, fire place, a huge flat screen TV, a sink, couches, and a huge washroom. We got the hybrid steam shower which was pretty interesting. There's a foldout wooden bench under the sink so you can definitely sit in the shower. The steam shower was pretty nice aside from a weird light sewage like odour and the lack of ventilation in the actual shower unit, causing the enclosure to be incredibly hot. The breakfast in bed was incredible. It came directly to our room. Even though it was simple, everything was delicious. The croissants were freshly baked and flaky with the whipped butter. The granola was made in house and served with yogurt. The French press coffee was amazing. It was rich and deep. I'll absolutely love to stay here again, and would recommend Sterling to anyone who's looking for a place to stay in Niagara falls! read more

Great hotel. Lovely rooms with wood floors, comfortable beds, and amazing rainforest showers. Some rooms have jetted tubs that are immaculately clean. Hotel personnel are really helpful. Wonderful breakfast was included with yogurt, croissants, and hard boiled eggs or quiche each morning with coffee or tea. This is brought to your room at the time you schedule it. They were in time with the breakfasts the three mornings that we were there. The AG restaurant is recognized for its quality. It was amazing and the service was superb. You can have a 3 course fixed menu or order from the Bistro menu at the elegant bar. read more

Odd architecture and color(grey) , unassuming from the outside. Once you enter the lobby, small, is kind of modern with a staircase as the main focus. Get into the rooms and a pleasant surprise awaits you. Romantic setting, warm and spacious rooms with wood floors, wood beam ceilings, fireplace. If you're looking for impeccable service and a cozy, luxurious room for a getaway, Sterling Inn and Spa should really be your only choice in Niagara! My fiancé and I stayed here for a weekend getaway in early December for the Festival of Lights (and is where he proposed!), and everything was so perfect. Room/Decor: We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite which was spacious, luxurious yet cozy. It had a living room setup when you first walk in, a lovely jacuzzi in the bedroom, fireplace, and high, exposed beam ceilings. Somehow I had been transported to a romantic, modern cottage in the Aspens! The bathroom was also very glamorous, with the large walk-in shower and waterfall style shower heads. Service: Even with the thoughtful rooms and romantic decor, where the Sterling really shines is the service. It really feels like they've thought of everything! When we arrived at the hotel, Pamela at the front desk welcomed us very warmly, and check in was very speedy and pleasant. I later learned that Pamela was a pretty integral part of the engagement plan, as she decorated our room with rose petals and candles while we were out for the evening when my fiancé was actually proposing. What big, chain hotel would do this for their guests? Another really central person to our weekend was Lisa, the General Manager. I also learned this later, but apparently my fiancé was in contact with her for weeks ahead of time to arrange the proposal weekend. She even recommended some fantastic activities for us in Niagara on the Lake! We also really loved the complementary breakfast in bed! The previous night, you select your breakfast and the time you'd like it to arrive, and it's delivered right to your door. Ours included buttery croissants, French press coffee, fruit, orange juice, quiche, yogurt and homemade granola. Everything was so fresh and delicious! With our breakfast, we also received a really lovely card with a hand-written poem, signed by staff from the hotel. Such a cute touch! I seriously cannot recommend this hotel enough. From the visuals, thoughtful touches, and amazing service, the Sterling really is a special place to stay, whether it's for a small getaway or to celebrate a special occasion.
