Absolute disgrace. I've lived in Crestview condo for 2+years now. The severe mold issues went untouched until 3 months ago. Poor ventilation and windows that don't open are now financial responsibility of owners. New pool put in, that now charges residents for admission. 400+ a month fee for the grass to get cut. I agree with Steve and others . Its been 2 years since the last review and Sterling Services has gotten consistently worst . I live in a place that is currently managed by them and its a completely hopeless to get any decent help out of them. They really cant manage themselves let alone a property. I genuinely hope you do not rent or own properties that they manage. And if you do sadly then ..... please rest assured that you will be left out to dry in the snow every time you need assistance. It makes me sad to see so many negative reviews knowing that Sterling is the complete opposide of what is being described here. They work in a thankless industry and people rarely take time to write positive reviews. I have only had positive experiences with this company. They used to manage Crestview, community where I live, and were always responsive, accomodating, and caring. This is the problem with the internet: Upset people will quickly post bad reviews while the happy clients go unnoticed. Just a really poor company. I use to live in a complex that was "managed" by sterling services. They can not manage themselves less any of their properties. The owner is so arrogant that you can not speak to him. He pushes his will constantly on the condo board and does not listen to others. Even when the board asks him to do something, he will do what he WANTS to do, not what the board requested. They are VERY slow to get back to you (Don't return phone calls) and when they do, they don't care about your issue. If your condo board is looking to switch property management companies, stay away from Sterling Services in Holliston, ma. They will charge you very high rates, give you piss poor service, and suck your association finances dry. read more

Same terrible experience as the other reviews. The person I've spoken to on occasion for repairs does not care at all about your issue, and can't be bothered to return calls. Distant attitude, not interested in her job. Super slow response even in emergencies. Severe leak in roof went on for 4 months before being repaired. I really can't believe how bad a property management company/condo association Sterling is, so I'm adding an edit to this post from a year ago about a winter condo repair. This is in regard to a summer job I've waited 3 months for them to even send out a person to evaluate the situation. The one person in charge of our property replies to emails 2 days later with an "auto-reply" out of office email. In my experience "auto-reply" emails are always sent immediately when your email is received. I know she was avoiding me/addressing the job when I called and asked if she was in the office because the receptionist said yes she is in and then said, "Wait, who is this?" So my call goes straight to voicemail. I call back and then even the receptionist doesn't answer, she lets it go to voicemail. I've been hung up on by the receptionist also. Every other job in customer service people are trained to be engaged and sympathetic if there's a problem a customer has. People at Sterling don't give a damn, work orders are ridiculously delayed or do not get done, and everyone in the office is rude on the phone. read more

Sterling Services manages our RI based condo. To date their communication with me has been condescending and at times inappropriate. Our property manager is incompetent and very difficult to deal with. Issues that should take days to resolve have lingered for more than 30 days. I would never willingly deal with this company again. read more

Sterling services is absolutely the worst. Been here for several years and their response is always the same. No Response. What work they do for the association is of the lowest quality at best. No one ever follows up to verify the work was done properly. Obviously they have some kind of special relationship with their subcontractors. Stay away from Sterling Services. They completely disregard customers demands and fail to honor their commitments. There is no or conflicting communication from their office and phone calls are never returned. If, you are lucky to speak to the administrative staff, they are extremly rude. Absolutely THE WORST company to deal with. I live in Spyglass Hill Condos in Ashland where the property management company, Sterling Services Inc, hired Prime Touch Services of Natick ( primetouch.net ) to seal our decks. When they did this they covered my brand new car with sealer overspray. It took me 1/2 hour to scrape the overspray off the windshield so I could drive the car to the dealership body shop to have it looked at. Fortunately the sealer overspray was able to be removed by chemicals and buffing. Upon submitting the bill from the dealer for $299.00 to Mike Leahy @ Prime Touch Services I was told it would be reimbursed. That was the last time I heard from Mike Leahy... I called and emailed multiple times but never got any response. My calls to Phyllis McDonald at Sterling Services Inc, the property management company, were answered with irritation and unwillingness to help as well as no returned phone calls. So here I am... out $299.00 because of a company that does shoddy careless work and the comapny that hired them. Honestly I wouldn't even give them 1 star but there is no other option. My experience with Sterling has been very positive. As a 30 year resident of one of their properties I am pleased with their responsiveness and quality of work. Several management companies came and went prior to Sterling and none did as good a job as Sterling. A look at the landscaping of the properties and unit exteriors tell it all. Beautiful! They have done a good job of keeping expenses under control and are timely in their response to problems and allow residents to attend Board meetings to voice their concerns. No company can please every unit owner 100% of the time, but my experience with Sterling been most positive. read more

Sterling has been managing my condo complex for about 3-4 years. The contractors that they have hired for landscaping and plowing and trash removal and common area cleaning have been nothing but exceptional, all without increasing our condo fee. Today there was no hot water in my building, I contacted them by email, got an email back within 10 minutes that maintenance was on their way, and within 30 minutes the problem was resolved, and they made sure to follow up that I was satisfied. So many people come on here just to complain, but I have to say, from a homeowner's point of view, this company is doing an amazing job keeping my property beautiful while not charging me extravagantly. I have been in my condo for 8 years now, through 4 property management companies, and by far, Sterling is the best. This must be why all the others were gone within a year and Sterling is still here. Manages Stone Ridge in Franklin. Upped their fees and they don't do anything. They always have a reason for not filling your request or they never get back to you. Community has gone downhill. Never properly take care of the grounds except to mow and lay mulch, during winter months they just keep piling snow in front of units without care that flooding will occur, I could go on and on. Shame that a company of this type has control over so many people's lives and homes. Legal action should be taken. read more

Sterling Services manages Crestview Condos in Holliston MA. The owner is beyond rude, and I once witnessed him enter a neighbor's unit with a group of men when they were not home and without their permission. He attempted to enter my unit with these men as well, insisting he was not required to give me any notice as he was the owner of the management company. He just showed up at my door with a group of strange men wanting to enter to "inspect my unit". He was beyond rude and I did not appreciate being intimidated like that. Even worse, despite the complete lack of safe and appropriate handicap parking, as well as their documented knowledge of ongoing discrimination against me by my landlord and the Board, Sterling Services is now issuing me parking violations. I am a handicap resident with a valid handicap parking placard which Sterling has a copy of on file. The handicap parking spot I have to use is actually a space for compact car located underneath a low cement balcony. Appropriate handicap parking is not provided and my repeated requests for a handicap parking accommodation have resulted in my being harassed. It has even been suggested I bring my registered, documented service dog to a meeting with the Condo Board at the Sterling Services office to show them how I am disabled and use the service dog. In the past a Sterling Services worker named Nate rudely insisted I had been notified my vehicle would be towed for snow clean up when I had NOT been notified. He was very cruel, with no consideration for the fact my vehicle has a handicap placard. (Luckily, the towing company has some sense and wouldn't tow the car.) Now Nate is leaving made-up violation notices on my car. It is simply another tactic to harass me. These people should be ashamed of themselves for adding to the illegal and discriminatory abuse I am forced to suffer daily at my own home. Along with a letter from my doctor, another photocopy of my placard, and proof of my service dog's license and registration, I provided Sterling Services copies of the ADA and the Fair Housing laws which specifically address this parking issue. Yet instead of correcting the handicap spaces or providing the legally require handicap parking accommodation, Sterling Services has chosen to participate in this ongoing harassment. It is discrimination against the disabled, and it is illegal. Worse, it is ignorant and hateful. They should be ashamed of themselves. read more
