Paid $6900 t Kyle on May 3, 2026. 50 percent. I was told that my project would be done mid August. It wasn't. Then Kyle contacted me on September 3 stating that if I paid him cash on this day he would drop the estimate by $400 and have a crew at my house by weeks end. I paid in full expecting the work to start. It did not except for the delivery of 17 yards of roadbase. I have contacted a law firm and found out that what he is doing is considered "Theft by Contractor " in Wisconsin punishable by fine, incarceration or both. . I'm done trying to get any information from Kyle because he won't respond . I'm filing charges of "theft by contractor " hoping to get my $13609 back. planning a lawsuit also if I don't get refunded my money. Avoid this business at all cost. read more

This business is beyond horrible. Stay away at all cost. or brand new concrete driveway is flaking and pitting.

I ordered a site cleared and a 30 x 100 concrete foundation installed in June. Was told work would be done in July by Kyle Stern. It is now the end of October where the work is only partially done. Rarely returns calls or texts. read more

Not a very good experience. Cement does not look good . I've never work with a business like this that was constantly asking for money . We paid money down and before it was completed Kyle wanted me to pay cash to his workers . I said no as per your contract balance will be paid in full once job is completed. Employees would get up and leave for a couple hours and then come back . No regular schedule. Very unorganized .Wrecks your yard , they don't care . Stern poured my driveway in late 2023. I didn't use any salt or chemicals for the last two winters. Last year they said the flaking was do to salt. They now are basically avoiding texts and phone calls. I don't recommend them. The salt should effect all concrete poured than. From what other companies online said, it was because of how they finished the concrete. read more

I wish I had never hired them. Their price seemed reasonable, but it ended up being less because they didn't do the right prep to ensure the patio wouldn't crack. According to two other concrete contractors, they didn't dig down far enough to put a deep enough base down before they poured the concrete and also didn't float the rebar. They also didn't seal it. When I complained and asked for a manager to come look at it, they refused. They just said "all concrete cracks" and said they would fill the cracks or do nothing, my choice. They blocked me from being able to message them on Facebook and won't return my messages. I finally resorted to filing a complaint with the BBB and they never responded. At this point I just want them to either refund my money so I can pay someone to remove it or remove it at no cost. read more

Awful job on our lawn. Over-ordered two pallets of sod and charged me for it. I asked for the yard to be regraded away from the home and had to remind the workers of this fact. It was not done. Yard was lumpy and had major dips in it after all was done. Could not get ahold of the owner once the work was done. read more

Stern did an outstanding job installing an egress window for my basement. They were skilled, knowledgeable, and cared very much about doing a great job. The window was installed professionally, and my yard was left in even better shape. Stern brought in 2 truckloads of top soil, graded it so that rainwater slopes away from the house, and planted grass seed. Great work! Very pleased with the results. Initially, Sterns Landscaping seemed very good. Kyle Stern seemed very responsive and quickly got us a quote and estimated start date . HOWEVER , their definition of the word Landscaping means they throw down some grass seed down and call it a day . After 3, or 4 days of 3 hour lunches and all different start and stop times , the "supervisor "said they were finished and wanted to collect the balance. It was a Friday night . The 3 year employee comes into our house and proceeds to start WHINING and try to EXTORT extra Money . He talked about how he had to source the materials to match some of the materials with the existing rock ( that's their job) and it took him time that we should have to pay extra for. He also was going to charge for some work Kyle had verbally agreed to do for no charge . We went out to look at the job and they had put some edging around the house and it looked like they were half finished. Again we thought a landscaping company the yard should look at least as good as it did as when they started . Again , the whining employee proceeded to say that if we wanted him to do it , it would be an additional $1,200 dollars more , and we should have said something because it was Friday night and he would have to pay his employees overtime just to properly finish spreading dirt and rock around the edging to even it out . He then said it would be an extra $500 more than quoted . Then the employee said that if we gave him cash , or a check made out to the employee he would , on Saturday deposit it on his bank and then pay the company. It sounded like he was try to embezzle money from sterns landscaping NO WAY were we going to give him a check made out to some individual . We did give him the additional $500 and REQUEST he Get out of our house Immediately. Tax evasion , Embezzlement, Extortion? What was this individual suggesting? If the owner had said we'd get a cash discount we would have taken advantage or that . He then said that they would have mentioned it before but didn't know if we were police or lawyers . HOWEVER We were NOT going to give him a check made out to the employee. He When we vehemently Objected he again suggested we make the check out to him . The next day we called Kyle and informed him of how one of his employees was seeming to " embezzle " some cash . Kyle's reaction was very disconcerting. Most likely we were not the first customer the supervisor had tried to pressure extra cash from . The supervisor had agreed to get a load of dirt that took me 3 days to finish the job. I'm 68 years old and that's why we thought we hired a " Landscaping " company. The next day we called Kyle and he asked what he needed to do to rectify the situation. Again he did not sound surprised , or angry at his supervisor. I mentioned numerous time he needed to check with other customer to see if he had embezzled other money . All he said was he was going to get written up . We told him the extorted $500 for the overcharge , and also and an additional $500 for having me finish the job for them . We did receive the $500 overcharge, but when we called about the rest of the money we have not heard from them . Most owners have more pride in their workmanship, especially when their name is in the name . Needless to say we were very disappointed. read more

Contracted Kyle and the hooligans for a rock retaining wall. It ended up being a pile, not a wall. It was like 5' wide. I didnt ask for rip rap, I wanted a wall. Had it re-done 6 months. I knew I was getting ripped off when he said black dirt for restoration was "500 a load.. you spreading?". Completely unprofessional and poorly done. Literally had a rock in front of window. If you want to be ripped off these are your guys. If you want a job well done, find someone else. read more

I wish there was a zero or negative. ive never had a place demand money like these people. I would've been happy if they put as much effort into my yard as collecting my money. we had a retaining wall and steps put in which is very well done but everything other than this was pretty bad. Greg C's review is believable because outside of the two guys doing the retaining wall the people didn't care about anything but the money. I was cautious to go with them because of so many negative reviews but Kyle seemed to know his stuff (bad read on my end). he really has no idea about anything but lying and taking your money. the workers that showed up and were there as they said were very good except Jim who showed up and yelled at the workers and then left. apparently he is a foreman??? I would just stay away from this company, your donations are better for the Salvation Army then to support whatever is actually going on at with this place. read more

Carless work was done by this company in effort to put up a rock wall. First off our front yard was torn apart which could have been avoided. Secondly, a massive rock was placed a few inches in front of our basement window but it was pretty much to late to adjust it because of all the rock that was already up and on top of it. Thirdly, the gravel that they had put in between big gaps/holes settled after a few months and when we asked to come fill them in because we could fit our arm in many areas the guy just droppped in a small rock and called it good when that did not resolve the issue. When you have neighbors who also recognized the shit show and stupidity that occured you've got to just assume that these people really have no idea what they are doing. read more

We hired them to seed our new yard (almost 3/4 acre) in June 2020, and have been very unhappy with the results. Our lawn is rocky, very uneven, and is lacking the promised 2-3" of topsoil in MANY areas. When it rains, it pools up in several low spots, and it came in full of weeds and quack grass and crab grass. This is almost a year later, and we have hired another company to literally redo portions of our yard with additional topsoil and grading. We will not and cannot recommend them. read more

Lol... doesnt surprise me that there are many similar reviews. I would not doubt if the good reviews were from employees, family or friends. Very frustrating experience. Owner was a very inexperienced professional and treated customers terribly. Massive lack of ownership and care for his customers. Hired them to do lawn maintenance... constant excuses and slow delivery. Very first snowfall of the year he came out halfway into the day AFTER people were conplaining about how bad the parking lot was and he only sent people out when i asked where the heck they were. The lot was a disgrace... so bad that many people fell, slipped, tripped, called and complained, even the fire department and hospital told us to fire our company and get a new one. Complete embarrassment. What is worse is that the owner never once called me to apologize or to explain the lack of care, instead he actually through dollar signs at me and said my thousands of dollars wasnt as much as other clients, so i wasnt as important and he didnt really care. Classy. And then he sent me the contacts of his guys and basically told me to stop calling him and to contact his plow guys. And he told me that i needed to meet with them to show them what they need to do. So he essentially wanted me to do HIS job. What a joke. I learned the hard way. Save your money, because he will screw you and your pocketbook for a few month until you realize how terrible the company is, then when you fire them, theyll just smile and not care because they already took thousands of your dollars. read more
