Service was rather slow or they were avoiding us due to a language barrier. We ordered our food and drinks in one go. I noticed others had butter for their table, we weren't offered any. The amuse-bouche was delicious. I let the server know I'm pregnant. They didn't really give us an explanation of what the dish was. Mine was a bruschetta with a quail egg. Delicious. Worth ordering. My husband ordered the lobster risotto and I had the Rindsragout. We shared the white wine soup with Zander fish. The mushrooms and pomme puree was delicious. Lobster was tender and juicy. Fish was tender Service was subpar, again I believe it's because we are American and only spoke English. The locals were treated very bery well. Haha wish i was a local. I wanted to order hot water for my tea but a server wasn't present. My husband's drink was also empty during our entire meal. Dessert was amazing. We had a pineapple merengue looking dessert. I didn't catch the name. The bruschetta and dessert was the highlight of the meal. Prices were fair. The interior decor was unique. The main was pork with apricot/rosemary sauce, potatoes, and two large white asparagus spears and one green. This was all good, though the pork had some excess sinew in some areas. My friend had the sea bass, which was 45 CHF for a rather small portion. This was accompanied by veggies and potatoes. Both our dishes were good. I often find Swiss German restaurant food too salty for my taste, and everything here was well seasoned. A caveat if you want a quick lunch: we were the first to arrive for the lunch service, and even then it took about 35 minutes from ordering to have our main courses served. The servers were friendly and professional. I liked the ambiance of the place; there are a couple rooms inside, and the garden (where we sat) has a cozy feel with a tree covering part of the space. The only downside of sitting outside is you can hear the cars and trams going by. To sum it up, the food is good and a reasonable value if you get the lunch special. Pretty much anything else will feel very expensive (e.g. 75cl bottle of water for 9.50), and to me the food is solid but not special enough to warrant the prices.
