I usually find Steuben's Truck aka Pearl in Civic Center Park during my work lunch. When I want a veggie burger that is quick and delicious with a side of fries this is the place to go! They have a variety of their mother store, Steuben's Food Service, favorite items such as The Green Chili Burger, Cubano, Cheeseburgers, and Gravy Fries. They also carry drinks and free condiments for your food. You pop right up to Pearl's order window, place your order, pay (and yes they do take credit cards), and wait maybe 5 minutes then tada your food is ready. You can choose to eat it in the park (which has undergone a huge face lift) or take it elsewhere. Odd customer service experience. Also, the advertised "Green Chili Cheese Fries" on their menu, what I got was unsalted fries with fake queso and diced green chilis sprinkled on the top. Totally different than what I was expecting. Usually green chili cheese fries have shredded cheese on top with the green chili stew poured over it. Diced green chili"S" (with an S) and green chili are two very different things, you should probably title this dish more honestly if you're not using green chili. This was frankly "fries with green chili's and queso". The title of this dish is very misleading to us as customers. Very disappointed with that I received, felt jipped. read more

Have you ever eaten the lettuce that fell off your burger because it was all so delicious? Well I just did. I was so excited to see this truck and a bunch of others camped out on 15th and California - which may become a regular thing sometime soon. I woke up craving a cheeseburger (truthfully my hangover had the craving) and wanted to try Smashburger but they haven't opened yet on 16th, didn't want to sit down at HBurger, not a fan of Good Times and luckily happened to walk by this tasty truck with no line. They have burgers (plain, cheese, green chile cheese, veggie) and you can add bacon, egg, mushrooms, green chile, etc...for 50 cents apiece. Normal toppers include ketchup, mustard, tomato, lettuce and mayo. The daily special was a meatball sandwich. I saw cookies, bottles of Jarritos and even agua frescas. They have an awesome condiment row full of hot sauces. Friendly crew playing fun tunes. I felt a little silly carrying my open paper tray of food back to my office and got lots of stares but that's because it was a beautiful sight - a ginormous fresh-cooked cheeseburger on a toasty, soft Udi's bun piled high with hand-cut salt-crusted fries ($2). Greasy, salty, out of control messy and good. I swear I could taste the "truck" in the burger which is not a bad thing, just different. Hell, I bought my food in the street, I'm not complaining. I'm motivated to check out the real Steuben's which I'm embarrassed to say I haven't yet. My only "beef" is that the regular burger was $5.50, cheeseburger $6.50 and green chile cheeseburger $7.50. Fun! Fun! Fun! We went to the food trucks in Civic Center Park on Tuesday and ate way too much. We got there just after 11:30 a.m. and it was already filling up. I got the BLT on Texas toast. It was the right amount of veggies and the bacon was full of baco-ny goodness. Nice and thick and they did not skimp on it. My mum-in-law got the burger and said she was glad she waited to have it here. My husband got the pulled pork and I was lucky enough to steal a few bites- great flavor and a big serving size. The slaw has a hint of vinegar and a great crunch. I forgot all about the Steubie snacks and will have to remember to them next time. read more

Late at night but not too late, and belly filled with multiple Quarter Irish goodness from the Irish Snug, our confused Yellow Cab taxi driver finally got us to our destination - the old Taxi building. We followed the smell of "things" cooking and groups of hipsters walking away from an abandoned parking lot, over a gravel lot and turned a corner to witness a brick wall with a video projection of Prince belting out "Raspberry Beret" and a cozy circle of bright Food Trucks waiting to sell out the rest of their sweet and savory wares. After a quick walk-around, Steueben's Food Truck with it's simple menu won out over all the rest. The Girl went for the VEGGIE BURGER, myself...the PULLED PORK. Complete opposites couldn't have been more delicious. STEUBEN FRIES(dry), side of Green Chile, to tie it all together and cold cans of dark and light Avery Brewing Co. beer to wash it down. The Pulled Pork was overflowing out of the crispy bread. It was sweet and heavy, and after three bites I started to feel like it was multiplying. This was a great sandwich...come hungry for this one. The Veggie Burger was awesome. Very unique flavor - covered with cheese and green chile and taking bites of it between bites of pork I had trouble telling if there really was no meat in it - the texture was that good. I felt like I was indulging myself but knew it was all good and probably the healthiest thing I was going to be eating that weekend. The Girl approved as well. Yes! A mobile Steuben's! Do you serve any cocktails, though? Regardless, I had a grand time with Steuben's at the Justice League of Street Food. Specials today were deviled eggs, slider combo, and butterscotch pudding. The line was quick and I put my deviled egg order and was asked if I wanted a free butterscotch pudding sample. With that and six deviled eggs, I was satisfied. My friend was quite impressed with deviled eggs too. If only the order stand didn't make neck ache from looking up. read more

I have worked with several food trucks for events at our dealership. Never have I had the experience I had today. From start to finish, the Steuben's Uptown team knocked it out of the park. Jessie was on top of it from the very beginning. I didn't worry about if someone was going to show or issues with the menu & planning. I was told yesterday about the mechanical issue with the truck and that it would need to be towed in/out. Any other company would have cancelled the event - Not Steubens!! I was kept informed every step of the way. Joey, Maddie & Perry did an outstanding job with the food & cool under pressure (even if it was 95 degrees outside) . I have heard it over and over from our staff that it was the best lunch ever and wanted to know when we could do it again soon. I really can't express just how amazing the team was throughout my experience. I know Secret Sauce has high standards with customer service and your team exceeded all expectations. Simply the bomb!!! A friend of mine rented the truck for a event at the hospital and it was a total success. The food was great and the staff looked like they were happy to be there. Thank Goodness the Steuben's Truck was at Grandoozy! It's definitely the best value for the money after 2 days of the festival. They have superb burgers that you can get with cheese, bacon or avocado as well as a vegan option. Try the fries with green Chile and cheese! Delicious! The only beverage and dessert options were water and frozen bananas. I loved how they had a man and a woman out front constantly restocking napkins and condiments, answering questions and just chatting the with people waiting. We will see you tomorrow! read more

It's been over 24 hours, and I'm still thinking about the fried Brussels sprouts I had yesterday for lunch at the Steuben's food truck. They were that good! The crispy sprouts with the chipotle dipping sauce was a winning combination. Unfortunately, the only reason I'm remembering the pulled pork sandwich is the greasy rock it left in my stomach. First time trying this out and it was pretty good. Ordered the Bacon Grilled Cheese($5) and Crispy Brussel Sprouts($6). The sandwich was decent, but nothing to write home about. It consisted of Texas toast, white and yellow cheese (their words) and thick bacon. I took a few bites of the sandwich and took it apart for the bacon. The crispy brussels came with a dip, maybe it was yogurt based. They were delicious, the right amount of crisp and salt. My one criticism is they were a bit too oily. Both the sandwich and brussels were of generous shareable size. If they would upgrade their cheese to real cheese, 1. I'd pay more for it and 2. would totally eat again. read more

One of our family friends brought in Steuben's Food Truck to the venue for the morning after our wedding and DANG was that the best gift ever. Steubens showed up with hot coffee and the absolute best hangover cure known to man - breakfast burritos, chili cheese fries, bacon, Stubie Snacks and much more. I've been the the restaurant before and thought it was decent. I decided to try the Nashville Hot chicken sandwich today when I saw them at New Terrain brewery. The sandwich was half the size of the bun and wasn't even breaded. Nothing like a true Nashville Hot. The bun was also a little stale. So there I was standing in Civic Center park...starving. I had been up since 3:00 AM getting ready for the Denver Marathon. I knew I had a long day ahead of me and all I could hear was the rumbling in my stomach. Then, like a dark night...my stomach rumble was replaced by the rumble of Steuben's Truck as it came into the park. Knowing that I wouldn't be close to any sustenance for the next 6 hours, I walked over to Steuben's Truck. While chatting with the girl at the counter, we discussed how I would like an egg sandwich. When she said that she enjoyed looking down at me...all 5 of the stars in this review were lost. Then I received said egg sandwich and MAN! I wish I could put 5000 stars in this review. It was by far the best egg sandwich I have ever had. It kept me going while watching 11,000 people running a half marathon and 4,000 people running a full marathon. I will never forget that yummy goodness that was Steuben's Truck Egg Sandwich! SOOOO GOOD! And that girl in the truck...she was pretty cute! read more

I experienced Steuben's food truck for the first time at a wedding this past week. The appetizers seemingly disappeared while guests waited hours for their food. Despite the limited menu options for this event, the three people working the truck apparently did not do any preparation and waited for the first order before cooking anything. Many orders were placed after the ceremony and it seemed like an eternity before any orders were coming out for guests to take. Once I finally got what I ordered, it wasn't even correct. I did get the grilled chicken sandwich but with fries instead of the brussel sprouts I ordered. I couldn't even get what I wanted since it was 9 pm when I finally got my food after ordering it at 750 pm and they claimed those were their last orders. My sister's meal never even got made before they closed up the truck for the night even though her order was placed at the same time as mine. Overall the food was cold when served, the bread for the sandwich was soggy and almost inedible. Many guests, especially with children, left the event early because they were waiting so long for food. It certainly put a damper on the wedding festivities and seemingly upset the bride that her guests were not happy. What a disappointment since their restaurant usually serves up delicious food and provides great service. I would NOT recommend this food truck for any big event. There are definitely better options in Denver to choose from for your event. read more

I like to think of Steubens as a "higher quality" of food. So when I went to City Park Jazz last night and saw the line of food trucks, I thought I would get a better veggie burger and fries from Steubens because of their reputation of quality. I took my food back to my spot and began eating fries when I found the first, what I am calling, "beard hair" in my fries. Which I chalked up to wind or debris from the walk....that's when I found the second "beard hair" and was more disgusted, but not too turned off to quit eating until I found the third "beard hair" and ended up throwing away the rest of my food. I will never eat from the Steubens food truck again. I didn't bother complaining because I wasn't going to wait in line again to argue about where the "beard hair(S)" came from but I wanted to warn, buyer beware of beard hairs at this food truck. Yuck. BTW, I am female and do not have a beard, so these hairs were definitely not my own. read more
