I wrote a review yesterday, but, somehow, it failed to get posted. - 1st visit - I was given everything they would do for the price I was quoted. - Check hoses and icemaker--if icemaker was broken beyond repair, they would replace it - When finished they would put everything back where it belonged and clean up. After several hours, they came up to my desk, advised me that they were finished and asked if they could have copper tubing he replaced. I went back to see the kitchen and NOTHING had been cleaned and there was water all over the floor. Myself and a co-worker cleaned it up. I was told to give it 24-48 hrs for ice to be made. The following morning the icemaker started smoking so we unplugged it and called them. Another man came out and fixed whatever was smoking and told me to call if it didn't make ice and he would replace it. It barely makes small cubes so I tried calling, never received a call back. Our refrigerator had stopped working and we were in desperate need of getting it fixed. Steve came out fast and diagnosed the problem. He got us back up and running within a few hours. Our washing machine went out 2 days before a trip we were leaving on for 10 days . i called a couple of places but no one could get out to look at it until the day before our trip. I called Steve Alden and he said "no, problem i can be out there today". I called at 9 am and by 12:30 a tech Jacob ( which is the owners son.) came out and fixed our washing machine. Called many appliance repair companies and they returned my call first. Friendly service guy came out and made a recommendation to replace d/w due to GEs motherboard being dead. The d/w was only 4 years old and used once a week ! Don't buy GE ! So we replaced unit and it was done. He also looked at out range which needed an element. A month later still no word/call and that part is paid for. Not happy. 3 out of 5 stars. Good for instant tests on d/w. Bad for follow up on cooking range. read more

This Guy contacted me about a LG dryer I had for sale for100.00 on Craigslist. He said he wanted to buy and i told him he could have it for free. So I removed the ad and turned down several others thinking he must have needed it. Then he sent a guy to pick it up and it wasn't good enough and didn't have respect to let me know. I did some research and found out he is a dealer. Stay away from this jerk , this is exactly why people don't try and help others. This dryer was my 80 year old mothers dryer and it works great just many scratches caused by me. I gave my mother a new dryer for her birthday one with old school controls. Shortly after purchasing a washer dryer set from him, the dryer stopped heating. He wanted to charge me 140 dollars to come a fix it after I had just spent 700 with him. If I could give a negative star I would. Initial visit was quick. My freezer needed a part, had to be delivered Monday or Tuesday (this was on Saturday). Dryer couldn't be fixed but was offered a used one to be delivered with freezer part. Come Tuesday, no calls. I called them Wednesday. Oh, part on backorder. Ok, bring the dryer. Super fast, next day delivery. However, when he brought the dryer, I turned it on and it would not get hot. He tried and decided the heating element needed replacing so he took the dryer. Brought it back same day and it worked just fine. A couple loads of laundry later and its no longer working. At all. We just moved so basically everything is needing washed. I called, no answer, I get a text back saying they'll let me know when someone can come out. If they promptly fix this and it doesn't break again the next day, I'll change my rating. But I'm becoming more skeptical by the second. They have been very nice, and used appliances are a gamble but I chose them over a cheaper set because of the warranty. Our washer broke yesterday, and it wasn't cost effective to repair. I did a quick google search and found a similiar model at Steve Alden Appliances and had it delivered and hooked up within 2 hours of calling. Fast, efficient, and excellent pricing. They also took our old washer and deducted the $25 delivery fee. Definitely check out the website to see what appliances they currently have in stock. One star because I can't give 0. Cannot recommend! Repairman came to repair our refrigerator as it was not cooling. He stated he replaced 2 sensors and since we paid by credit card, we would receive an email receipt. The PayPal receipt only stated, "Refrigerator Repair $325.00." Sixteen days later it stopped cooling again. Steve was called and a NO SHOW for three days after he said a repairman would come. We got another company to repair. The second repairman stated no sensors were replaced. He showed me where one was tested but not replaced. He taped the bare copper wire. The control board was bad and he replaced it. Steve was contacted and invited to come and review the refrigerator personally but he refused. I requested a detailed invoice stating what was replaced; not received. Went by his office and it was boarded shut. I sent him a certified letter which he refused to accept. I filed a dispute with Chase Visa and they did refund my total payment. Do not buy used fridges from this group!! Fridge was delivered mid December and quit working 2 weeks later. Fridge then worked for 1 month and then quit working again. I was conveniently out of my 30 day warranty and all they would do is send a technician and asked me to pay for the service. I wish I could give no stars. This company does shady business and will treat you as if you're the one in the wrong when they are. I contacted them about selling my used Whirlpool apartment sized Washer and Dryer set that I purchased from another used appliance dealer "Select Home Appliance" one year ago. I was in desperate need of getting rid of the pair since I was moving into another apartment that came with new units. The owner advised he would buy them for $60, which is a big rip off, yet I accepted due to the fact that I needed them out. The technician that came just so happened to have been the technician that worked for the previous company and was who dropped off the units before. We had a brief laughing moment about the coincidence and he proceeded to remove the units. Once removing the washer he yelled to me "911"! I looked down to see water gushing from the wall going everywhere! He then threw me the $60 and ran off, leaving me to deal with the emergency on my own. Once I called the maintenance they came and shut the water off for me and I proceeded with my move out assuming it was an issue the complex would repair, which my move was on a Friday. Come Monday, I was made aware by the apartment manager that the pipe was actually broken and I am liable for the repair! Really?! I texted the owner of Steve Alden Appliance to see if we could work something out, he said he would talk to the worker and call me back. I followed up Wednesday and once the owner spoke with the worker, he advised that worker is saying it was already broken! (Go figure) He then began accusing me of lying about the situation and hung up in my face! Yet, I am a HR representative that works in an office full of attorneys and my brother is also a police sergeant with connections, so needless to say, I will be seeing them in court! On that day at 14:36cdt I received a call from his son coming over to fix my washer. Jacob Alden, mention the extremely low price would include an replacement of the pump. Mr Jacob Alden text me back to mention that something personal came up on that day. Friday at 15:30cdt I received a text by Mr Steven Alden informing me another technician by the name of Kevin will be replacing his son today at 16:30cdt. Kevin replaced my water pump with in one hour an a half. Kevin ran a load while waiting to see if the pump worked. While leaving he mentioned about there guarantee policy.
