We used Steve and Company for our wedding on Valentines day at the ballroom at the ben. Steve was downright amazing. The most important thing at a wedding is the food and then the venue....the NEXT most important thing is the entertainment. If you have ever been to a wedding with bad entertainment then you can understand what I'm talking about....I have been at weddings with bands which are much more expensive then a DJ not play music for 10 minutes during their break. Not Steve he started and didn't finish until the end of the night. From the beginning Steve had everybody dancing which for a wedding is critical. He met with us and answered any questions we had and pronounced everybody's names correctly. Again I can not speak highly enough of him and his services. Everybody that asks for a recommendation for a DJ i will gladly point them over to Steve and company. A DJ can make a good wedding great and that's what Steve did with my wedding. For our wedding we hired Steve and Co. We were recommended to them by Villaris Lakeside. Tommy was our DJ, really nice guy. We filled out our planning worksheet and really left a lot of it up to Tommy, he made great music selections and MC'd the whole event. He was taking suggestions from guests and really kept the night energetic. Defiently recommend Tommy, he was attentive to what we wanted and delivered on items we just told him to run with. We used Steve and Company (Steve was our DJ) at the Ballroom at the Ben as well. We actually got a recommendation through a friend and then realized he was on the Ben's preferred vendor list. The friend recommended him because the price was great and her wedding was amazing at the Merion. Steve did an amazing job coordinating all aspects of the night and transitioning through the entire wedding. There were no awkward pauses. Literally, everyone, I mean EVERYONE was up dancing on the FIRST song and did not sit down the entire time- that's how amazing the set was. A cousin asked how we picked he songs because she thought they were all so "well- hand-picked." Nope- just left Steve up to that. And he was very good at transitioning from that to dinner music and back to dance and then to bouquet toss (with out the ever groaning single ladies)-- I think they were actually excited ? and then the cake cutting and back to dancing. No one even missed a beat. Everyone could not stop talking about the amazing PARTY the next day and how much dancing they had done. I would totally recommend Steve and company. Great deal for the price. He makes things easy for the bride and groom, sends a list for you to pick must play/do not play and makes the pre-wedding meeting a breeze. We did not end up with Steve & Company, but our initial conversations were great. Always quick to respond and sent us all of their pricing information quickly. We met with our potential DJ who was very friendly and fun. He was almost a bit too excited for us, but I could definitely see him as the life of the party. Steve was our DJ. He was recommended to us by a girl I worked with. She said he was the best DJ ever and she was o so right! Steve did a fantastic job. We had all ages at our wedding from 5 to 85 and EVERYONE was on the dance floor. We even had an extremely old song (think 1940's1950's) and specific version we wanted for our first dance and Steve delivered! He played all of the songs we asked him to. Everyone told us what a great job he did months after the wedding was over. You should definitely have Steve as your DJ and you will not be disappointed. The lighting was great, the sound was great. He was so professional and fun annoucing us and the bridal party. Everything was kept on point/time. We also rented the props and they were a great addition and defintely worth the money. I had alot great vendors at my wedding but I have to say that Steve really did make the wedding! We also hired them for our photo booth and they did a FANTASTIC job for the photobooth! Everything was organized and there were a ton of props to choose from and they made a book of all the photos taken and gave it to us at the end of the night which was really fantastic! We took the book on our honeymoon and it was a piece of the wedding we got to look at right away and re-live the wedding a little bit on our honeymoon. Also you get a thumb drive of all the photos taken in the photo booth and idiot me broke the flash drive a month after the wedding and they mailed me a new one! I wish I could write a great review about my DJ BIG ANT through Steve and Company and how he made it special by playing all the right songs. However, Its exactly the opposite. I had the worst experience and my pick of the DJ remains a black mark on an otherwise perfect day. Big Ant might be the most arrogant person I have ever met. When I was upset that he was playing music NOT requested, he told me to calm down - as the bride it was not something I wanted to hear. I worked hours on picking the songs and putting them into Steve & Co's website only to have Big Ant play what he wanted. The only I will say is that he played the slow songs I wanted, but he played all 3 in a row! I mean really? ! If you go with Steve & Co. and are assigned this DJ please ask for someone else. I don't want anyone else to have this experience!!! read more

We had Allen DJ our wedding and we could not be happier! First of all I want to admit that I was a mess and a scatter brain on the wedding day, Allen was so patient in his explanations and planning so we were on the same page (I'm sure I annoyed him, but I appreciated how he dealt with my craziness). Leading up to the wedding, he was very prompt in his responses whenever one of us shot him a text or phone call. But most importantly that dance floor was packed the entire night! We had some of our own requests that were not the usual and Allen made it work. He played a great mix of songs that we and the guests requested along with his own, but it was all in good taste and it worked out perfect! Everyone had a great time! Steve & Co. served as the DJ for a wedding I recently attended, and it seemed rather obvious that they used a pre-set playlist. There was not much variety in the music played - several slow songs were played back-to-back at the beginning, followed by hours of 70's/80's sing-along type music. Despite many requests from attendees, the DJ stuck to his list, and waited until the final 30 minutes or so before playing fun dance music. If the food wasn't so great at the venue, the DJ would've ruined the reception. read more

I went to a wedding at Merion Caterers last night where Steve & Co. were the entertainment (Tommy Bertolini to be specific). Let me just say that they were literally the worst DJ"s that I have ever experienced. I have been to my fair share of weddings & recently gotten married myself so I know what a good DJ can do for a wedding. It was a wedding with over 150 guests and there were no more than 10 people on the dance floor at all times (and I wish I was exaggerating). Good DJ's can get a good read on the crowd and pick their next play based on the guests, but not Tommy. It was as if he just didn't even care that what he was playing was horrible. My husband, myself, and multiple other guests even made requests (for songs to get everyone up dancing) and at first they just blew us off. Then, after multiple requests they started saying that the "bride & groom told them to not take requests"... A blatant lie considering I asked the bride!!! I couldn't believe ths guy, I kept hoping for it to get better but I eventually just gave up. If you want a good DJ who will get ALL your guests up on the dance floor, spare yourselves the time of even contacting this guy. It's funny, too, because after I got their card I realized that they were on the preferred vendor list of the Ballroom at the Ben (where our wedding was) & when I contacted them (before I knew how awful they were) they didn't even bother to call me back.
